The Lord Lucan Page The man you see above is the infamous Lord Lucan, the British aristocrat who disappeared in the Autumn of 1974, after his nanny had been murdered. His disappearance has never been explained despite a lot of speculation. However after I saw a newspaper report this week, that the British police were keeping a lookout for him at a World Cup match in France 98, I've decided to start this page for any of you who think that they've seen him, so that you can fill in the form at the end of it, send it to me and I'll keep a diary on this site to all unsubstantiated and uncorrobarated claims of his whereabouts, either in Britain or abroad, so keep your eyes peeled and don't hesistate to reply. Choosing a Kitchen NEW TOWN PLAN FOR LUCAN CO. DUBLIN South Dublin County Council have approved framework plans for the development of a new town located at a greenfield site in Adamstown, Lucan, Co. Dublin. At a special council meeting members approved the initial framework document entitled 'Adamstown Local Area Action Plan' which provides for the development of up to 10,000 mixed units for industry, schools, shops, residential and recreational amenities. Included in the plan is the development of new road and bus networks and the development of a railway station by 2005. Local campaign groups have moved to have recommendations included in the plans to ensure the development of the necessary infrastructure and that plans are in place to ensure that floods similar to those which took place last winter will not occur.

The poem was written during the reign of Nero (about 60 to 65 A.D.) This was my main research project in the period 1988-1991. It resulted in a PhD dissertation (1992). Go to intro summary , or documents Summary The epic Bellum Civile of the Roman poet Marcus Annaeus Lucanus (39-65) deals with the civil war between Julius Caesar and Pompeius in 49-47 B.C. Their conflict is elaborately described in powerful verses full of paradox, witty maxims, and strong pathos. This study is a commentary on the third book of Lucan's epic, on which no separate, modern commentary was available as yet. The most important parts of Lucan's book are a long catalogue of Pompey's troops, and a highly original account of a naval battle near Marseille. Bellum civile is a complex text, which confronts its reader with countless problems, both textual, and linguistical and thematic. The commentary attempts to identify the most important of these problems and, wherever possible, formulate solutions to them. At many points the Latin text is explained and interpreted first. Part 5, The Family History Both my parents are Australian born – my father in the West to a farming family and my mother in Queensland to an engineering family. My grandmother on the spindle (mother’s) side was the first female Engineering graduate from QU. Also on that side of the family you can pick up an Arch-Bishop of Sydney, and if you go back further, tracing the Russian roots, you find people that were the tutors to the Tsars of Russia. Just after that come family stories of people walking across Siberia to escape the Revolution. For reasons that I’ll get on to, I don’t know an awful lot about the historical stories of the spear (father’s) side of my family. I was born in England. In a place called Ashfield in Kent actually. I don’t know what my parents were doing there, it’s not something that I’ve been particularly interested, and I think that I may have left it a bit too late to find out. It isn’t all that important anyway.
