Ces doubles rôles marqueront sa carriére qui se contruira autour de l'ambiance gothique crée par le MASQUE DU DEMON . Riccardo FREDA joue l'originalité en la propulsant dans l'ambiance ô combien trouble de la nécrophilie. C'est "L ' EFFROYABLE SECRET DU DOCTEUR HICHCOCK " (HICHCOCK s'orthographiait sans T bien sûr!) où la belle Barbara joue les victimes.....Par contre c'est elle qui méne le jeu dans le second volet des turpitudes du Docteur Hichcock...ele ourdit un sombre complot pour éliminer son vieux mari paralytique.....On est proche de l'univers du GIALLO italien. Barbara STEELE s'octroie une image de folle sadique, image qui lui collera à la peau durant toute cette période italienne.
