She won a gold medal at the 2007 Pan American Games for her native South American country. Valoyes twice represented Colombia at the Summer Olympics: in 2004 and 2008. Powerlifting is a strength sport, consisting of three events: the squat, the bench press, and the deadlift. And by the time she finished her graduation from the Maharaja Bodha Chandra College in Imphal, weightlifting had become her first choice.
