Product Description

America is in the midst of a serious financial crisis—unemployment is up, homes are going into foreclosure, and every day it costs more and more just to get by. Economist Larry Bates understands the serious problems we face and in The New Economic Disorder he reveals the five powerful, dangerous, and unstoppable forces that are causing it. But with clarity and confidence, he turns to the Bible to help us to understand that there is a permanent, lasting solution to all our chronic economic ills. The New Economic Disorder provides an easy-to-understand analysis of our economy and your place in it, addressing such topics as: . The coming new world order and what it has to do with your finances. . Your financial privacy (hint, you don’t have any…) . How government manipulation has given us an illusion of prosperity . The debt bubble and what that means for your investments

3-0 out of 5 stars A Little Disappointed...
While the author certainly has a personal history pertinenet to the topic of the book I was disappointed that it did not truly educate people. While he distinctly makes his point about what will be 'needed' monetarily once economic collapse happens, I am sure he has a vast knowledge of how to handle one's finances prior to that time which he did not share.Would not recommend...

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!
I'm recommending this book to all my friends. Also, I just bought Larry Bates latest book this past weekend. I can't express enough how important it is to read this book. It was fascinating. I read it in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. My family (husband and 2 boys) lived thru the flood in Eastern NC in '99 so I know what its like to go weeks w/o electricity, medical assistance, food or gas. We were completely cut off from town (only 3 miles away) all the food we had in our freezer was spoiled. If not for our above-ground pool we couldn't have flushed our toilets. My 2 yr old came down with an extremely high fever, we couldn't get to the hospital. The grocery stores and the gas stations had no electricity so you couldn't buy anything. No banks or ATMs were open or operational. My husband hooked his boat battery up to a black/white TV we had and that was how we stayed in touch with what was going on. I think I would have went crazy if not for that information coming in. There was NO ICE. Stock up on medicines, charcoal, water, canned foods etc.EVERYONE please get your family prepared for whatever will be our next disaster.

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!
EVERYONE SHOULD GET THIS BOOK AND READ IT FROM COVER TO COVER, A MUST HAVE!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Larry is right on,wish there was more info on....
Positives: I just finished reading this book this morning.Larry Bates is spot on in his book.Great background information and details justifying his stance. He also uses scripture to back up some of his claims...that was great.
Recommendation: I wish there was at least two chapters (or one really informative chapter) on how to better prepare. For those of us that have been preparing for a while, I really looked forward to him S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G out details of preparation in case there was something I missed.I went through 15 chapters of doom and gloom (which was reality and life as we know it)- I just think people need more info on how to prepare. Some just don't know what and how to go about it.I hope he comes out with another book detailing the how to's for those people that just don't get it.-Overall EXCELLENT book.Recommend for all that can handle the truth.

2-0 out of 5 stars Have other sources at hand if using this book.
Pro: Contains good graphs.

Cons: Badly edited, if it was even edited to begin with. Onthe answer to question #3 ofthe Review Questions in pg. 32, it says the answer is E, claiming that when cross-elasticity of demand is positive, the goods are complements. If you look on pg. 28 where it explains Cross-Elasticity, it says "If in the previous equation we get a positive number, it is safe to assume that the two goods are substitutes." Ironically, I used the Cliffs Quick Review for Economics to sort this out.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not too helpful
This book has good graphs and short descriptions, especially if you're looking for the quick definition of an economics term, but overall, it is too general and not helpful enough when you are studying for the AP Economics exam. I used it to review, but the book did not go into enough detail to really be of use to me. Also, there were many instances where the notes in the CliffsAP book contradicted with what I had learned in my economics course and in various impressive, reliable textbooks.
I do not recommend using this book. It was quite a waste. I have heard that "5 Steps to a 5 on the AP exam" is better.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poorly written, not edited
This book was horrible. I bought it for the practice tests, and not only did they repeat the same questions in the same tests on occasion, there were many cases where words were mispelled, or key parts of the problems (such as graphs) were left out completely. This book was of shoddy construction and should be avoided as a tool to study for the economics exams.

2-0 out of 5 stars This book is not good for a CLEP exam.
I guess I shouldn't be complaining because I was attempting to pass the macroeconomics CLEP exam with the AP cliff notes book. The reason I was doing this is because I could not find a study guide for it.So if you are looking for a CLEP study guide don't get this book, I did pass with a 54 and I needed a 50, but it was pure luck.

4-0 out of 5 stars Economic AP Cliff Notes
Haven't reviewed the book as yet but am looking forward to using the Cliff Notes in conjuction with an AP Macro and Micro Ecomonics book to prepare for a CLEP test. ... Read more

Product Description
What determines the size and form of redistributive programs, the extent and type of public goods provision, the burden of taxation across alternative tax bases, the size of government deficits, and the stance of monetary policy during the course of business and electoral cycles? A large and rapidly growing literature in political economics attempts to answer these questions. But so far there is little consensus on the answers and disagreement on the appropriate mode of analysis.Combining the best of three separate traditions--the theory of macroeconomic policy, public choice, and rational choice in political science--Torsten Persson and Guido Tabellini suggest a unified approach to the field. As in modern macroeconomics, individual citizens behave rationally, their preferences over economic outcomes inducing preferences over policy. As in public choice, the delegation of policy decisions to elected representatives may give rise to agency problems between voters and politicians. And, as in rational choice, political institutions shape the procedures for setting policy and electing politicians. The authors outline a common method of analysis, establish several new results, and identify the main outstanding problems. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Political Science AND Economics book
The authors understand that the study of political institutions drives political science and apply economic principles to do this methodologically. This book evaluates various political institutions in their barest forms and derives intuitive results for their expected performance using elementary economic modelling techniques. The book logically extends its arguments and provides interesting normative evaluations as well. The authors are pioneers in what they do, but, unfortunately, are not likely to be accepted as mainstream political scientists. ... Read more

Product Description
For business statistics courses taught in Economics and Business Schools A classic text for accuracy and statistical precision. Statistics for Business and Economics enables students to conduct serious analysis of applied problems rather than running simple "canned" applications. This text is also at a mathematically higher level than most business statistics texts and provides students with the knowledge they need to become stronger analysts for future managerial positions. The seventh edition of this book has been revised and updated to provide students with improved problem contexts for learning how statistical methods can improve their analysis and understanding of business and economics. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Too many typos
Seems like a good book. However one thing that put me off is the number of typos. Almost every chapter has 2 or 3 typos. And not just spelling errors - incorrect formulas and reference to the wrong tables/figures etc. I have never seen so many typos in a test book.
Can be very confusing.
Overall a decent intro to Statistics from a business point of view.

2-0 out of 5 stars worn cover
The condition description is "Good". I paid more for this condition.
Actually, the condition is not what should be defined "Good". It is worn all over the cover and I have to use the tape to fix it.
