Product Description
The Heart of the Master is a visionary text written at Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia, the site of ancient Carthage. It heralds the arising of the Beast 666 as the Prophet of a New Aeon governed by Horus, the God of Force and Fire. The work delineates the spiritual forerunners of the New Aeon who were sent out at historical intervals to guide humanity's spiritual evolution. This new edition features full-page portraits of these spiritual antecedants. It also includes a visionary and poetic summary of the elements of the Holy Qabalah, accompanied by illustrations of the Tree of Life and the Major Arcana of the Tarot as a guide to meditation. Includes 36 full-page illustrations and a new editor's introduction. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Really the Last Prophet
This rare book details Aleister Crowley's ascension as the prophet of a new Aeon, the Aeon of Horus. Out of all the Aleister Crowley books in mass market format, this stood out in memory years after I read it as one of Crowley's most disturbing works. In fact, I questioned my new faith in Crowley's religion Thelema reading this book; this was for real and not a joke. After contemplating, I thought it would be worth it stick with this because witchcraft is now a cool thing amongst today's youth and Crowley was a famous early form of witchcraft as we know it today. This is serious stuff, I wouldn't mess around with this unless you are interested in the occult. It should be noted that real life ritual magick as described in these type of works really do work; I did a ritual from Necronomicon and Lesser Key of Solomon to help with a college Astronomy course- I got a respectable C grade when I close to failing with a D-. But be prepared for some harassment about alleged satanism.

5-0 out of 5 stars The advent of the Beast
"The Heart of the Master" begins with a vision of blood and terror. This is the way Crowley always imagined the New Aeon would arrive, since it involves a radical shift in human consciousness.Form this terror, the Great Beast is taken into the halls of the Great White Brotherhood and takes his place among the other Avatars from all Aeons past.

This work is among the more readable Class A (inspired) documents. The flow from one passage to the next is more logical than some of the more ponderous tomes such as the Book of the Heart Girt Round by the Serpent. This is because it basically celebrates Crowley's rise to power as the head of the O.T.O.

The edition includes a fanciful tale of this ascention, and an illustrated meditiation on each of the Trumps of the Thoth Tarot. A very good work of Crowley's, presented with historical context by the editior. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally turns our concepts around.
This book is one of Samael Aun Weor's books that has had a big impact on my spiritual path. Here Samael Aun Weor gives us a firm shake up, a very aggressive wake up call to awaken us from our deep sleep. In a very sincere and direct manner he lets us see how we are mistaken about our concepts of things. This book deals mostly with the state of our world but moreover, with the state in which we find ourselves in.From meditating on this work, it is very clear to me that the concepts that we have about everything from ourselves, our world, our lives, our fellowmen, etc is really the result of a sleeping conciousness.A sleeping conciousness cannot see things as they truly are but only dreams. What we experience on the outside tells us alot about what's going on inside of us, that is, inside our psyche. This knowledge can motivate us to change ourselves and therefore change our world which in turn will elevate us to higher levels of conciousness.Samael Aun Weor has done a magnificent job in speaking to the conciousness as he does here and in all his works because sometimes we need a firm wake up call and we need to be spoken strongly and directly to finally comprehend. This book is a good choice to begin the studies given by Samael Aun Weor specially as it concerns the awakening of the conciousness.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good start to understanding some of the problems within and without
I read this book a few months ago and it offered a brief summary of what is involved to overcome your own internal struggles. It is stated that the chaotic and devolving world we live in is merely a reflection of our convoluted psychological reality.Think about the chatter in your mind as you live the day, your opposing desires, and contradictions. Also remember that night-mirrors come from your own mind and thus are a part of your psychological existence!

Our world is home to many night-mirrors and atrocities day by day.By truly improving and reflecting our inner beauty outward, we can help all that we touch and make the worthwhile effort to mend our place of living.Bottom line about The Great Rebellion... I was inspired by the author's words and hope that I can succeed in the practices given.

5-0 out of 5 stars Practical, Informative, Inspiring
This simple yet provocative work is a profound analysis of the spiritual and moral decadence of our times. While presenting the difficult and oftentimes morbid issues we face as a humanity, this work is elegant in its precision and inspiring in its call to action on an individual and social level. This is one of my favorite works by the author due to its poetic nature; it dives into the marrow of our deepest economic, social, and moral problems and addresses them with a voice of compassion that is both tender and fierce.

Although it is a smaller work considering Samael Aun Weor's repertoire, it is one of the most accessible and inspiring due to the way the author cuts to the chase and challenges the reader to challenge him or herself. It provides the fundamentals of esoteric psychology and essentials of Gnostic Christianity, which is the esoteric significance of the Christ. He emphasizes in the latter half of the work the need to incarnate this impersonal, universal and divine force or intelligence, which religions have called Christ, Khrestos, Chenrezig, Allah, Avalokiteshvara, Kuan-Yin, Quetzalcoatl, and many other names. This is in order to accelerate our own process of spiritual development and change, the sole purpose of which is to overcome our suffering as well as the suffering of others.

This is a book that both new and older students come back to; written near the end of Samael Aun Weor's lifetime, it synthesizes the entire breadth and span of his seventy or so books. It stands alone in its poignancy of both subject and style; this is a great introduction and a great guide for experienced students to deepen spiritual practice. However, as with most of Samael Aun Weor's works, it is confrontational, which for many can be a turn-off, but for the very same reason can be food for the soul. This work is inspiring for those who are tired of suffering and want to change, not for the complacent, the stubborn and the proud. If you are sick of searching through so many spiritual and occult books without finding solace, give this work a try.It is lucid, simple and profound.

This is an excellent new edition by Glorian Publishing, including better printing, illustrations and binding.

1-0 out of 5 stars too many words...how about quality, not quantity?
interesting work...but oscillating between asenath mason and osho, one might glean much more. i mean all-out, qualitative LESS!

2-0 out of 5 stars outdated, not very good
i'm not familiar with this author, even though he seems to have written tons of books.the book was written in '76, so his predictions on what was going to happen in 2000 are outdated and inaccurate.the book is written in short, 1 -3 line paragraphs, which makes it easy and fast to read.the majority of the book is very negative, and states the obvious about the corruption of mankind.the very limited positive remarks, revolve around meditation and knowing they self.nothing really earth shattering nor enlightening.with regards to new age self-realization material, this is subpar. ... Product Description
“Previously, so comprehensive a guide book has not been readily available.”

Initiation is a reality. Humanity has a potential to grow far beyondits native state of consciousness and capability. This growth is a spiritual growth. Its fruits inform and empower every facet of human, mortal expression, while disclosing to each of us our own inherently immortal natures.

On this spiritual growth, more than any other thing, the future welfare and progress of humanity depends.

For thousands of years, Adepts have known how to unlock or awakenthis growth – how to mature it and unleash genius at will. Beginning in1906, two such Adepts, Aleister Crowley and George Cecil Jones, organized and made public the mystical and magical disciplines by which any motivated person can achieve this spiritual maturity and have direct experience of realization, liberation, union with God, or cosmic consciousness.

They called their system A .'. A .'. Its methods are those of empirical science; its aims, those of devoted religion.

This book explores, step-by-step, the mystical and magical system ofthe A .'. A .'.For many in the West, it is a strange thought that spirituality can be drilled in the same way that a muscle is strengthened. Yet, an ear trained to listen to music detects wondroussubtleties that the untrained ear misses. The same is true of the palate trained to distinguish fine food and wine, or the eye trained todiscriminate nuance in any of a thousand areas.

The same is true of spiritual experience. The stages of its unfolding are distinct: the discovery of one’s True Will (or who one is in the Universe), and the practical means of expressing this in the world; theKnowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel (or conscious union with the Divine); and the continued advance toward and through that vast gulf, or Abyss, which lies between humanity and Divinity.

The author, in more than 20 years of experience of the mystical and magical system of the A .'. A .'., has derived enormous value from it.This book is the clearest, most complete presentation of the system ever written.

“Never before have the inner pathways of this Journey been so finely mapped, nor the Way so clearly marked. To you, dear children of the Light, do we deliver freely what has been given to us. May the Way be opened for all who would walk it, proudly, joyously, serenely – with strength, wisdom, love, and the LIGHT which informs them with Beauty.” –from Chapter 11 of the Mystical and Magical System of the A .'. A .'. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Do What Thou Wilt?
Do What Thou Wilt - shall be the whole of the law.

No one sees a problem with how easily this is misunderstood? How VERY easily it draws the violent and dangerous to the libertarian statement of self above all?

From Wikipedia on this topic:

""DO WHAT THOU WILT" was misunderstood to mean do what you want, however one must consider that a human being is a single machine composed of several parts. So, when one says do what thou wilt , he/she must understand the origin of this will in order to promote or demote its importance. One is formed of a material, mental and spiritual component. These components are all controlled and directed by will that flows through the three and uniting them as one. Initiates of the sacred science are acquainted with the fact of a fourth dimension that is the base of this triad that forms a human being. True will is fourth dimension, that directs the human towards his destiny and forces him into the joy of accomplishing what he/she was meant to accomplish."
--

Okay, fair enough - but how many of those who claim this "religion" or indeed what is referred to as "Satanism" understand that it DOESN'T mean "Do what thou wilt" - Do what you want, after all it's "the whole of the law." Okay, I want to rape this woman, says the rapist, kill this person says the murderer, abuse these people, says the abuser -- after all, it's what I "wilt" and it IS the "whole of the law."

That's a misunderstanding, but I have run into dozens of people who cite this as justification for doing EXACTLY "what (they) wilt" - Ayn Rand taken to obscene proportions. The philosophy of utter selfishness and NO REGRET for any misdeeds.

How do you adherents propose to educate the many who take what they read at face value and PROTECT the many who are, and who have been, their victims?

I had one such in my life, a "friend" who genuinely believed he understood what he read, and he read a lot of this material and believed that feeling any sadness or regret was counter-productive and wrong. That is the hallmark of sociopathy/psychopathy - the belief that you need not feel bad, or have a conscience about anything, since after all, he was "progressing in his way" -- if he damaged someone, any of the four women he had been involved with, that was okay, he was moving through his growth (and too bad for anyone he met since they were, after all, only other people and didn't matter).

Using the Kabbalah in this?I don't find that acceptable either, borrowing from a religion that is based ON doing NO WRONG to others to create one which teaches that one essentially CAN'T do wrong and if one does, it isn't really wrong (oh but it is).

I'm deeply curious as how people who take this seriously justify it, or whether that is the point -- freed from conscience, allowed to do what they will, no restitution or punishment or sorrow for damaging others while in pursuit of one's one path -- yes for certain types of people that would be very attractive indeed, and those people are the ones we all must avoid - do you intend to let anyone with whom you interact know in advance that they are but a tool and you will use them "as you wilt?"

Where are the protections for those who don't believe that it's okay to be a "psychic vampire" or use others in any way that they wish?

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I can whole heartedly recommend this book. Basically what has been done with this book is compiling into a flowing sensible presentation of the A.'.A.'. ststem. To get this material in the past required going back and forth between several other books. This book has the required material collected and organized into a very well arranged method, which is excellent for the progress of the Adept. Of course, eventually all will need to acquire a few more books, but this one will definitely ,"Get you going", in the right way. The book is a hard cover and excellently bound. Again, highly recommended for Thelemic Adepts and researchers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best since Crowley
This is the best book on Thelema Magick since the Death of Aliester Crowley. Over the years many people have had the chance to hear Jim teach. This book is like setting in Jim's living room and hearing his profound knowledge of the A.'A.'. system.
Anyone can follow the A.'.A.'. system and do his or her own work. You really need nothing but this book and a few of Crowley's books to find the true path. THis is by far the best, bar none, book on Thelema Magick in 60 years.
Thank you James for your fine contibution to magicial litature. This book is one of the best of all time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading on Freedom
Parson's essay Freedom is a Two-Edged Sword is a brillant work on individual liberty and how it can be realised by all. Alot of what Parson's has to say is in the tradition of John Locke, but written in a style more appealing to today's reader. Written in the 1940's his insight into moral, religious, social and sexual issues is still very relevant today. I promise you will find memorable quotes on every page of the main essay so be ready with either a good highlighter or red pencil to underline them because you will be doing alot of that.

5-0 out of 5 stars A quick and insight full read into the mind of Parsons.
The book starts out as an almost social studies essay about the problem ofpost World War 2America, where Parsons writes to the reader as though he were a friend, a great sense of urgency in his tone conveying a message of Liberalism, Feminism, and Love. Then throughout the rest of the book-collection of essays, it goes deep into mystic and occult ideals and the framework of Parsons 'Spirituality' and Philosophy.

4-0 out of 5 stars A true promethean
Those who begin investigating the history of the occult will eventually run across Jack Parsons.I've had this book on my list for some time but the several hundred dollar price tag for the out of print book was outrageous, so it is wonderfull that it is being reprinted. In this book you will find a champion for personal freedom. His writings in the 50's are pretty insightfull about the dangers facing us now.He may be called mad because he chose to live life on his terms and follow his passion even at the expense of losing everything, but I find it inspirational that someone has the guts to actually leap across the abyss instead of just give it lip service. We need more of his works in print.
The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it contains only a limited amount of material for the price, but it is still a good addition to the library.

5-0 out of 5 stars Of Interest to Patriots
Some of the best patriotic work I have read in quite a while. Given the author, I find this somewhat suprising. It gives great insight into Jack Parsons and his personality. The latter parts of the book, are dealing with his magick works with Babalon. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars In-Depth
Im not very well versed in the Occult or Religious, but this book written by the Master Samael Aun Weor has given me many insights into the nature of these teachings.

There is profound knowledge contained within the covers of this book... this is clearly evident or will be at some stage to the reader, the author goes deep into the meanings of each card of the Tarot. Samael Aun Weor is very thorough in his explanations, although I have found it necessary to often re-read certain sentences, paragraphs etc in order to grasp intellectually due to the profoundness of the text.

This book is not just about the Tarot or how to use the Tarot cards, its much more than that... the author goes very deep into the esoteric, with in-depth explanations about the Tree of Life and the varying Dimensions that the Tree of Life unfolds into, deep mysteries are revealed to the reader... but one can go even deeper via Meditation if they know how to.

There are practical exercises also present throughout this book which im sure many will find very useful. Be prepared as you will be confronted with astounding information, highly classified military secrets do not compare to this type of information that was once kept hidden, this information is completely exposed for a reason... there is not much time left.

I highly recommend this book to anybody, if you can read.. make use of your reading ability with this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally some Practical Astrology!
Modern Astrology is mostly rubbish and written for the entertainment of wishful thinkers, there is little that is practical in any of it. Samael Aun Weor comes to the rescue of this problem with his wonderful work entitled "Astrotheurgy."

This book is 100% practical. Samael Aun Weor gives exercises for each sign of the zodiac to be performed during the sign's period. He also gives a clear and precise explanation of each sign, as well as the influences that govern individuals from each sign.

The publishers were kind enough to include two more of Samael's works into this one book (a 3 in 1). The second part of this work goes into further detail of the signs of the zodiac and the third part gives practical exercises for practicing White Magic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Masterpiece
I just recieved this book a couple of days ago and am having an extremely hard time keeping my eyes off of it. This book from the Venerable Master is another esoteric masterpiece that gets to the heart of the science of language of all the world's religions: Kabbalah and the Tarot.

Readers should be warned that this is rather advanced book in the Gnostic Library from the tradition of Samael Aun Weor and should be prepared for some heavy reading and meditation.

1-0 out of 5 stars Out there without a net
My main problem with this book is that although there is some interesting information and pictures in it, the author seems to be pretty much of a nut case. He is convinced that he is some kind of superior being who has achieved the depths of all knowledge, but I have not found any of his material to be all that useful, and in places (often significant places), it is just downright weird and confusing. It is often hard to escape the impression that he is being deliberately vague or confusing simply to sound more knowing or profound.

Anyone who is interested in an introduction to the Tarot and the Qabalah would be much better served by a book such as "Qabalistic Tarot" by Robert Wang, or even "The Mystical Qabala" by Dion Fortune (although the latter is much more focused on the Qabala than the Tarot).

1-0 out of 5 stars Huge Disappointment
I had high hopes for this work, based on some of the other reviews here and the description of the book. What I found after starting to read is a book that goes against what the vast majority of other texts and schools consider to be the correct attributions for the card meanings when applying Hebrew letters. This was the first major diversion from other widely known and accepted principles, and it just got worse from there. This book seems highly slanted toward a 'christian' gnosticism viewpoint, and might as well be a book of dogma. I was not impressed at all by this.

The author's reasoning for all of this is that he has "experienced" his gnosis as opposed to others who "just write about it" but have never really experienced it. I think this is a rather egocentric viewpoint coming from someone who was supposedly enlightened to begin with. I don't buy it, and don't buy into all of the dogma associated with what he is purporting to be 'enlightenment', either.

I don't recommend this book, and further don't recommend his philosophy on enlightenment, either. In fact, from other people's statements on his works and reputation, he and his followers are very dogmatic and cultish. From the writing in this book, I can see how that could be easily true. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Joyous Magic
the title alone...
dear conjurers,
... nearly makes this book worthwhile. In the form of a series of letters in response to a Sister of the Order, Crowley tells us much and in detail of various aspect of magic and the occult. It is a truly worthy book. However, the copy we had from New Falcon Publications, had a collating error so about 20-30 pages or so in the earlier part of the book appeared again and replaced a section later in the book. So you might wish to check with your seller to see if this is the case. Nonetheless, even with that difficulty, which was a bit frustrating, we thoroughly enjoyed this book and were glad we read it, and if it hadn't been for that error would probably have keep the book instead of trading it back in to the used bookstore from which we had purchased it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting book, but read other AC works first
First, I am not a Thelemite and never really have been.I also found this material quite dry and obtuse in times. It is obviously written for the Thelemites and makes very little sense when removed from that framework.

However, this is still interesting for people who have studied Thelema. Here Crowley offers his thoughts on a wide variety of subjects, from money, to family, to various magical topics. While some of the letters will appeal to Hermeticists and Thelemites alike, many seem to be geared specifically towards the latter. There are, however, a few essays with a more general appeal.

All in all, if you enjoy other AC works, this is a good read.If not, then don't bother.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent choice for a first book, just as good for the seasoned student.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this book, but I was pleasantly suprised by it. As most Crowley-fiends know, his work can be thick and hard to grasp (somthing like trying to wade through mollasses.)
This one, although of equal quality to the others, is much easier to read because it's in the format of natural language. Nothing to decipher, strait to the point, and also entertaining and upbeat. It makes a great primer on Alestier Crowley's teachings, as well as laying some of the foundation for understanding the rest of his books, so I recommend it as a first book by him to any serious student.
Also, it's structure (letters written by him to a student) makes it perfect for those few minutes of reading before bed, or just for those who hate putting a book down halfway through a chapter.
Just as important, THE NATURAL LANGUAGE FORMAT DOES NOT DETRACT FROM THE TECHNICAL QUALITY OF HIS WORK. He conveys the same ideas in a form easier to digest. Great book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Clouded opinions
I can appreciate others disatisfaction with this book. However, as a seeker I am constantly having to refocus what it is I am seeking. Or should I say, stay focused on what it is I set out to find. Especially while diving into thick subjects like Qabalah or other mystic traditions.

I notice most people either love Crowleys work or hate it with a passion and set out to destroy what it is he was trying to do when they hit that brick wall of not being able to understand his teachings.

People forget, Crowley was just a man. He was just a man seeking just like you or me or any other person male or female wanting to tap into the secrets of the Cosmos. A person does not pick up a book written by Crowley unless they are truly trying to unravel the Cosmic code of life, the Universe and God. I have noticed when people can not figure out what it is he is writing about they become almost violent in their attacks on his works. Their passion to seek out truth in the mysteries is replaced with repugnant claims of Crowley being a charlatain or at best a drug crazed madman. While in the end these same people make themselves look ignorant and simple minded by the verbage they chose to attack Crowley with. The same goes for anyone attacking any other spiritual path.

I see Crowley for who and what he was, and still is in this world. For his work continues to affect people on so many levels. Crowley did tap into something. He did have a true grasp on some truths that could change ones perspective on how this Universe works, as well as turn religions of the world inside out. That is very dangerous knowledge. And if just anyone had it it could destroy the bearer, or worse, our world. But he could not trust that information with just anyone. Actually he could not trust that information with ANYONE! Notice how eratic some of his writings are. He struggled with how much to share and in what way to present the knowledge he had. That struggle eventually destroyed him in a way. That is why we have stories of his drug use etc...

I know Christians, Muslims, Buddhists just as twisted in their grappling with the Holy Spirit and spiritual truths, and how they try to wrestle with sin and trying to be a good little Christian, or understanding Buddhists etc. We all struggle with these "demons". Its just that some of us can not handle it and those demons take us over. Then you have a priest rapping altar boys, and all the other atrocities you hear of within the Christian or other religious organisations.

I have seen it in all religions, drugs, sexual misconduct, back bitting etc... Its what we end up with when God fails us. In reality it is us that fail ourselves because of lack of faith in the Cosmos. So we give in to corporeal indulgences to cope with our inability to have the faith necessary to actually hear what it is the Universe is saying, doing, creating in our individual lives. What WE are creating in our own lives!

Crowley spent his life searching for truth in the mysteries. He found some very disturbing things on how we can manipulte our corporeal world. If just anyone had that information it could prove dangerous in the wrong hands. He was a member of many spiritual and masonic organisations. These Orders are the gaurdians of these mysteries. So how does one tell the world about these secrets? There is no straight forward way of presenting the material. If he wrote it out in plain black and white English then it would seem impossible and sound more outrageous than what he left us with to ponder after his death. For the truth is far more simpler than we could imagine. Describe love. You know you feel it, you know it causes so many emotions and chemical reactions in your body right down to your very essence. But putting it into words has taken up volumes of pages, thousends of songs, poems, paintings, scultures. Yet we still long to describe OUR individual experience of love. And you want Crowley to, in a few books he left after his death, to explain the mysteries of Magick and the Universe in a way you can understand? POSH!

Spirituality is a journey. Crowleys works are a journey unto themsleves. And if a seeker sets out trying to unravel these mysteries Crowley wrote about, and they stay the course, they will grow through their years of study. It does not happen in one reading or over night. I have spent over 30 years searching, studying, reading, practicing, praying, crying, yelling at God, the Universe and the Cosmos for answers to all of this we call the Universe, God, Allah, Magick etc... It DOES NOT happen over night. And yes, some of his writings are plain and simple drivel. But it is all part of the journey. HIS JOURNEY, not yours or mine. So there is no way to truly understand everything he had to say, because there are some things words just cant explain.

I can create some of the most wonderful things through Magick. But trying to explain how it works is impossible. I know how it works. I understand whats going on with the energy I manipulate. But putting it into words for YOU to understand is impossible. Mainly because the Universe, God, the Cosmos, all of these words we use to describe our creator or Origin, is personal unto each individual.

Christians would say the Holy Spirit speaks to each of us on our own spiritual understanding level. While I may feed on spiritual milk, you might be more advanced and feed on spiritual meat. So it is with Crowley. There is some meat there we will never understand until we get to that level. Then again, we may never be able to convey that understanding to another person because they might not be ready for it.

In closing, I challenge you or anyone else out there to stop judging this man and stay the course of your own journey. You will find gems of truth, and you will find utter nonsense as well. But you will need the nonsense to off set your journey at times. To challenge you and your sincerity in the things you seek. The Cosmos know when you need a break to ponder whats in front of you. Trust these times and take time to ponder that "drivel" you claim Crowley wrote, or any other drivel you have on your plate. In the long run you may find it wasnt drivel after all, that you were just blinded by the veil and couldnt see the forest for the trees. It is all part of your personal journey and came into your life for a reason.

As I said before, one does not read Crowleys work for entertainment. If a person picks up one of his books they are seeking something more than a sci-fi mind escape. They are seeking to understand the mysteries. And anyone on this journey knows a mystery is always clouded with booby traps and things to throw you off. For only the sincere seeker will find the truth in the end. All others will do nothing more than write sour commentaries attacking the subject at hand out of ignorance.

If you have read any of Crowleys books I urge you to read this one too. It wont hurt you. It will only add to your knowledge base of one of the most contoversial Qabalistic writers ever known.

And if you dont like it. Email me. I will buy your copy.

5-0 out of 5 stars The single best introduction to Aleister Crowley
This book is the best way to get a clear look into what you will find in the works of Aleister Crowley. However, do not expect to get a complete guide on how to work the systems A.C. has developed: the various letters are overviews and not the in-depth texts you will find in other parts of Uncle Al's library.

When someone expresses an interest in learning more about A.C., this is always the first book i lend. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sacred Sounds
I've had amazing results with the vowel "Ee" in activating my Sahasrara chakra and my Ajna Chakra. Coupled with the meditation course on (...), where they teach a Pranayama(Energy Restraint) method that is ecstatic, I've been enjoying my meditations rather than dreading them! I definetly recommend learning to vocalize and even applying it to your spontaneous prayer because for me atleast it seems to carry more weight in my efforts and it becomes much easier to avoid daydreaming.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazingly Practical!
A great book from Samael Aun Weor that outlines and provides the reader with a wealthy amount of practices in order to enter into real practical experience. Within the book is contained conjurations and their explanations, mantras to develop one's chakras, practices to awaken clairvoyance and remember past lives, and a lot more.

As with any book from this author, he writes from his own experience and knowledge and as such all of his practices are both real and practical. What is required is patience and a willingness to change one's way of thinking...

5-0 out of 5 stars Informative Masterpiece
This is truely a 'theurgist's cookbook' if there ever was one.It goes at length to detail information about the nature of angels, demons, the soul, religion, alchemy and theurgy, all mostly related to the use of the word.Powerful invocations, conjurations, protection magick, elemental magick, exorcism, past life recall, and a toolchest full of mantras for astral travel and development of the chakras in different ways for specific results.A must have for someone looking to become a white magician on the path to self-realization of the being, according to the tradition of Samael Aun Weor. ... Product Description
Have you ever tried to use Liber 777 (really use it!) to design and implement magical ritual? Can you read it without your glasses? Can you read it with your glasses? Can you pronounce the Hebrew names and words in 777 once you can read them? Can you find your way around its tables quickly and efficiently? (Can you answer yes to any of these questions?) Aleister Crowley's Liber 777 remains one of the most important occult references of the 20th Century, demonstrating the interrelationships of diverse philosophical, religious, mystical, and magical systems from around the world. One of Crowley's finest contributions to both practical and theoretical philosophy was this correlation of numerous world traditions, of East and West alike. Yet it has never been very handy for the practicing magician. Now, this extraordinary compilation by James A. Eshelman, titled 776 1/2, is designed exclusively to support the practice of ceremonial magick. According to its author, 776 1/2 is not quite 777. 776 1/2 contains 182 tables of the most useful practical ceremonial information. Although much of this comes originally from 777, most of the tables have been supplemented and expanded. The Hebrew and other letters are large, clear, and readable. The columns have been reorganized into a more useful sequence. Additionally, almost every Hebrew word or Name in the entire work is also transliterated into English to assist the practitioner in pronunciation. Numerous typographical and other mistakes from 777 have been corrected. New tables have been added on such topics as: The Genii and Averse Spirits of the 22 Paths from Liber Arcanorum and Liber Carcerorum; the Thelemic, Scandinavian, Assyro-Babylonian, Celtic, Voudoun, and Santeria pantheons; Psychological Attributions of the 32 Paths; use of the Unicursal Hexagram; the Enochian alphabet and three models of its enumeration; and more. Practical correspondences of animals, plants, precious and semiprecious stones, magical weapons, incenses, magical powers and mystical states, and others have been expanded. And that's just the first half of the book! Supplementing these extensive lists is a new essay on Ritual Construction (which is also a partial study guide to Crowley's Magick in Theory & Practice) and ten sample magick rituals for such purposes as generating magical force, prosperity, obtaining angelic guardians, remapping your character patterns, the highest spiritual attainments, and The Thelemic Mass. This third revised edition expands the already popular 1995 edition with new tables and additional data. The instructional essays have been significantly expanded and updated to incorporate new teaching approaches. A new Appendix contains instructions for frequently used small rituals of banishing, invoking, and energizing including the never-before-published Liber Pleiades. In this new edition, 776 1/2 has grown so much, it should be renamed 776 3/4! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Makes Crowley's 777 easy to understand and adds much more.
Eshelman's writing is well thought out and written for everyone to understand. It puts 777 in a more modern perspective and provides plenty of examples of ceremonial magic one might use. I found myself often thinking, "Aha!" as opposed to, "Hmm.". However, I reccomend a good basis of Crowley's work before reading (or at the very least, as you read) the book, as there are plenty of references throughout. The book is very clean, and attractive and very well put together. I would reccomend it to any Thelemite or someone interested in ceremonial magick.

5-0 out of 5 stars 777 plus
This is a required work for any ceremonial magician. Not only does it present the contents of Crowley's 777 in a more workable - and more logical - format, but it expands on that work with additional tables and attributions. The appendices on ritual work included at the back of the book are both well thought out and well presented.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have book for your magickal library!
I was very excited for this book to come out and I was not dissapointed in the least. It was very easy to read and understand with 10 extremely useful ceremonies explained and mapped out. A must have for every level of study.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, much more than just tables of correspondences
Unlike other correspondence table books, this book has tables of correspondences you actually need to do ritual work, and is logically organized and printed such that they are easy to locate and read.Other such books seem to have every correspondence there is, making finding what you need for ritual difficult at times.

Aside from the tables, there is a commentary on the tables, and a most excellent section on ritual construction.Following that, are 10 sample rituals, again written with the conciseness and clarity as the rest of the book. These are not just samples, but are rituals that can be performed right away, with well defined purpose and meaning. The 10 rituals not only server as samples of ritual design, but form almost a magickal curriculum that can be incorporated into a magicians normal Work of attainment.

The author also points out, that this book can be used as a study guide for Crowley's Magick in Theory and Practice.Crowley's Magick in Theory and Practice is not a beginners book, and makes assumptions that the reader has some magickal training, often leaving gaps or areas needing clarification for the new magician. While certainly Crowley's book is a masterpiece, having a companion like 776 1/2 which can act as a study guide is invaluable, and the author cites specific references and sections where the student can dive deeper using 776 1/2 as a reference, after providing the needed clarification.

The only issue I have with this book, is that it was not part of my library from day 1.A must have for any serious practitioner or student of the Art.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have book for practical magickal ritual construction!
I found the softback spiral bound edition of this book incredibly useful. So much so, that my copy had been utterly thrashed through use. So I was excited that a hardback edition was coming out. I had no idea... I thought it was just going to be a simple reprint in a longer lasting medium. Boy was I amazed!! Not only was it at the amazingly high level of quality as "Mystical Magickal System of the A.'.A.'.", but they added over 80 pages of hardcore, experiential, and practical advice on designing ritual. The unassuming section on tattwa calculations alone made this purchase worthwhile for me personally! There are so many nuggets of wisdom packed into the second half on ritual construction, I don't know where to begin. One definite impression I got though, after reading through the 10 sample rituals and thier breakdown, was that a student of magick at ANY level will be inspired to perform these or self-designed rituals with assurance of competency. The magickal theory is laid down so soundly and simply and demonstrated so practically that it gave me a great boost in confidence! I highly recommend this book to sit proudly on your shelf within reach!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is needed greatly by all of us!
This book is of great importance to those who are workinbg to reduce the effects of, and need to profoundly understand their pluralized egos from WITHIN. It strongly complements Master Samael's first book, The Perfect Matrimony. Both have helped me immensely.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must Read
This is an must read guide for our awakening in the astral plane. There are many harmful websites and general disinformation that surround the topic of Dream Yoga, Astral Travel, Lucid Dreaming, etc...This book explains the difference between dreams, lucid dreams, and conscious awakening in the astral plane, which are often all lumped together, while also offering safe and established methods of conscious astral travel.

Included in the book are techniques, mantras, and prayers which can be applied during the day and before our time of rest in order to facilitate our transformation of the dream state.Recommended for all those interested in self realization, the liberation of consciousness and communion with their innermost.

The book is a quick read, but the high value of the text comes in the practical tools given to the reader, which if applied consciously with will power and patience, yield magnificent results.

May All Beings Be Happy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Potent book
I bought this book a while ago and have read it thoroughly many times.

Master Samael Aun Weor writes about importance of awakening ones consciousness here and now in the physical plane, Malkuth.. a prerequisite in order to become awake and conscious in the internal worlds.

If we are asleep during the day, daydreaming or identifying with our thoughts, emotions, objects, people around us etc... then the same will occur during sleep.

We will be dreaming and identifying with the images in the dream just like we would in our everyday existence.

So in order to experience the internal worlds, the astral world one must start putting their consciousness into activity in every single moment. Observing our thoughts and actions whilst also observing the physical world that we experience through our five senses without becoming identified nor attached to any of this stimulus.

The Master Samael gives us general meanings to some common dreams that one may experience.

Contained in this book is a simple and short description of the inferior dimensions (Klipoth) where the subconscious, unconscious and infraconsciousness reside.

There is also a section on the specifics of the wrongly called (by many people) Astral body (Body of desires, or lunar double is the correct term) as the true astral body one has to develop through white tantra, sexual alchemy.

It is a short 101 page book, but the knowledge contained in these 101 pages are quite potent.

I highly recommend to anyone seriously interested in esoteric studies, personal development, spirituality and of course astral projection of the lunar double to add this book to your collection.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disturbing
I ordered this book based on some good reviews and found it deeply disturbing. In order to articulate my point I will include quotes from the book with my comments in parenthesis:
p. 60 Neurosis is a terrible sickness of the soul ....And is a disgrace to homes (and that would be most people since most of us do have some degree of neurosis)
p. 90 in regards to snake symbolism - "we will be sexually attacked by a woman" (attacked? that must happen really often to men, scary thought for some perhaps but pleasant fantasy for others)
According to the gnostic master hypnotic trances are detrimental (I happen to find them very pleasant and useful)
p. 99 "intellectual beast, intellectual animals" (I guess those are the ones criticizing him)
p 100 "wandering degenerated infrasexual" who might suggest that the astral body can be built without the necessity of the sexual act (ridiculous without needing explanation, plus very unbecoming language for a spiritual "master")
"Those imbecile ignoramuses" (language, pleeease!)
P 100 "What is as abundant as evil weed in this Perverse, Corrupted and Doomed Aryan Civilization are the false hermaphrodites, meaning the homosexuals of Lilith, the gays" (I guess everyone has an opinion on homosexuality but our Aur Weon's has a very destructive edge to it. He cerntainly does not subscribe to the live and let live attitude. It is sad that he feels that he needs to displace his anger on a group of people who are already marginalized and harassed as it is)
P 65 on strawberries: "if we are making strawberry jam, we will have failure in love" (I would interpret it more like preserving love but since a word with loving and loved people would be so much better in my view, please, just make a different kind of jam if you must in your dreams of otherwise, or better yet just buy them in the store)
P60 "the readers of this book must not fall into errors by judging a person because of their dreams or because anything else" "must not slander people" (it seems to me that he could take his own advise)
P 53 "sacred sperm" "spermatic liquor" - don't loose it in sleep (OK, I find this a little grandiose and quite honestly a bit tacky. I also did not see a mention of sacred egg. If sperm was sacred, then quite naturally so should be the eggs released by the ovaries. However, stopping their release is not something that nature intended us to control in order to develop spiritually or else we should all go on birth control pills. So perhaps it is not such a bad thing to dispose of some sperm and egg periodically, unless of course the treasures of the male gender are superior to the ones of the female gender)
P 38 "those people with subjective psyches........are ignorant of their own impotence, nothingness, shamelessness, misadventure, and psychological misery and nakedness" (whoever he is referring to, growth and spiritual development cannot be encouraged by berating and humiliating people. If anything it just crushes the spirit. But I don't think that is a concern for our Samael Aun Weor)

5-0 out of 5 stars A short masterpiece
This books was created from Master Samael's lectures on the subject of awareness and dream yoga. The book, though short is packed with so much information. Information that you can start 'practicing' as soon as you finish the first chapter. I have been practicing the key SOL for some time now so after reading the first few chapters I put the information to good work and have been able to achieve astral experiences in the short time I have owned the book. The book is good for beginners but they might have to explore some of Samael's other writings and gnostic information in general to get the full 'knowledge' from the writing. Overall straight forward and a great read, also highly recommend the 'Yellow Book' by Weor to compliment the practice of Kundalini Yoga. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars knowledge that is hidden from us.
This was very helpful to me.I like mysticism.Certain parts of the book are repetitive. The author tends to be a bit harsh with humanity, people grow and develop spiritually at their own pace.He also insists that his way is the only way.But good information. You have to be interested in mysticism and spirituality to appreciate this book.If the information in this book is true then I can understand why it was hidden.

5-0 out of 5 stars Has the capacity to fundamentally change one's life
I cannot recall the events that led to my purchasing this book with great accuracy, but I do remember, with almost perfect clarity, devouring the book as soon as it was in my hands. This book affirmed something that I desperately needed to hear: that sex is sacred. This simple truth had been fighting to reach the surface of my mind for many years, but it was a combination of my own taciturnity and the pressures of society that continued to force it under.Despite mounting evidence that my egotistical attitudes toward sex and relationships were causing me to suffer I continued to hurt myself and others through its chronic abuse. With this book in my hands, and the knowledge that there are legitimate alternatives to the harmful sexual attitudes of our society I began to realize that I no longer had any excuse to continue my misconduct.Let me issue a warning at this point.People often describe "Gnosis" (the Greek word for knowledge) as a double edged sword, and in my experience these are not just mere words, they are a stubborn reality.Once in possession of this book's knowledge I felt as if I were being held to a higher standard than before, a more difficult standard to uphold.I would liken Gnosis to a sieve that separates the courageous from the cowardly, the diligent from the lazy.Having said that, this book, and many others by the author, have acted as a soothing balm and a strict teacher for me.I cannot recommend them enough.I urge those who read this book to do so with a completely open mind.It may confirm your suspicions as it did mine, but it only has the capacity to do this insofar as you are willing to forsake comfortable and convenient misconceptions. This can be painful, but it is also liberating.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is ineffable... sublime... this is a thing of paradise...
This book is deeply profound and utterly beautiful in its wisdom on The Kundalini and The Perfect Matrimony. It truly is The Perfect Matrimony of the Golden Age.

Samael writes in deep symbology and therefore may not be understood by many at first.

~For instance chapter 12 can be a bit confusing if taken literally aboutJesus's blood and flesh of the Last Supper.
For example: It was at an atomic level that the disciples physically consumed the blood of Christ as the Eucharist.
This makes it an actual physical act.. This is very deep and profound but that can confuse us if we aren't ready for it.
No Master is going to cut themselves and give you their blood...~

This book is beyond anything and it is only the beginning.. The other 60+ books Samael wrote explain in more detail what this book cannot. Remember this was Samael's first book. But for sure and without a doubt it will be taken wrongly by so many people that read it, and this is very sad.

A good start maybe is to study the Kalachakra teachings of The Dalai Lama..
He is not just a monk but a master of Tantric knowledge for a true spiritual seeker.

Samael Aun Weor comes across as much more direct and strict, which is equally important and even more important to some.

5-0 out of 5 stars sexual energy and spirituality
This is a terrific book that teaches that liberation from suffering can be achieved by conservation and transmutation of sexual energy and psychological work dissolving the ego, the 'I'. Here, the spiritual power of romantic love is harnessed in sexual union by refraining from the orgasm and awakening the heart through mutual adoration and tenderness. This is a recommended read for anyone who wonders about the relationship between sex and spirituality. Many other topics are covered, including clairvoyance, reincarnation, and the kundalini.

"When man and woman unite sexually in the Perfect Matrimony, they are truly ineffable Gods in those voluptuous moments." ...

Read more

Product Description
Aleister Crowley was among the first Europeans to study, practice and teach Yoga. These lectures set forth some of Crowley's conclusions after a lifelong philosophical investigation. The first series of lectures is entitled 'Yoga for Yahoos.' The elements of Yoga are introduced, examined and demystified with a view to extracting the practical essence of Yoga doctrine. Yoga is also correlated with astrology and the Qabalah. The second series is entitled 'Yoga for Yellowbellies.' Here Crowley weaves Yoga into a conceptual framework the encompasses Western philosophy, magick and mathematical physics. All of these lectures are approached with humor, wit and a minimum of jargon. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Want the Sangraal hardback edition?
Be very careful trying to buy it here. Although it very clearly states you are looking at the page for the hardback edition, at LEAST the first four or five sellers listed are selling the paperback edition at ridiculously inflated prices.

Buyer beware.

4-0 out of 5 stars enjoyable read, but works best as companion to Book 4

This book makes an excellent companion to "Book 4" (part I), which examines various stages required for yoga. The emphasis of both books is ultimately to use yoga as a means for developing the concentration and will power necessary for magic. Crowley considers magic/yoga to be the quest of an individual to discover their True Nature/ Higher Self/ Essential Being, in other words to reach heights of spiritual enlightenment and to know our true purpose and nature of existence.
I should add here that actually reading the works of Crowley has given me a very different impression than the stigma that surrounds him. My preconception about Crowley were based on things I had read/heard... after all, I first read Diary of a Drug Fiend at fifteen years old, because of Crowley's reputation as a drug addled black magician, which seemed extraordinarily cool at the time. Perhaps that is why most people read Crowley... because of the tales and lore of his wicked personality, as if he is a child sacrificing, blood drinking, Satan worshiping beast. Now, I am not about to wipe his slate clean... his life seems to have been full of contradictions, because he seems to have explored both heights of enlightenment and depths of depravity. However, after rereading more of Crowley's work, he seems to be less deserving of the stigma surrounding him, and more deserving to be seriously read for his insights into spirituality in all it's forms.

Anyways, in this book Crowley instructs students on steps needed to approach mysticism through Yoga, and he details the complications that arise along the path. A major intention of his in these lectures was to dispel "myths" about Yoga, demystifying it's status as "exotic and oriental"... he tried to bring it down to Earth and examine it without and aura of obscurity. At the time the lectures were written Yoga was apparently seen as a bizarre practice from the exotic East... not so much today the case today, in which Yoga seems to be been co-opted as a fitness craze. This brings it's own bag of problems- I feel nausea every time I see an advertisement using the lotus pose as a sign of "inner peace", and every yoga class seemed to have made it as stressful as possible in order to tone old ladies muscles, rather than calm people down for spiritual discipline.

The book was written as a lecture series Crowley gave on yoga. It really reads as if Crowley is speaking, it has an amazingly natural flow and is full of humour. The best parts of this book are that it is very enjoyable and to read, and there are some passages that are rather deep, which are worth coming back to for further contemplation. Aside from that, I would really recommend Book 4 instead of Yoga for Yahoos, it is a better source for information, but has more of a "text book" feel. Yoga for Yahoos makes a good companion piece because of it's natural flow, and it's forays into Qabalistic theory, the complexities of logic and of quantum physics, and how all many various things relate to Yoga in practice.

If you are actually looking to read about Yoga in order to learn about and practice Yoga, I would instead recommend "Kundalini Yoga" by Swami Sivananda Rhada... it is absolutely excellent, and so full of practical and theoretical information/exercises that it can keep you busy for years. Above all, just practice instead of reading about it! If I could I'd give "Yoga for Yahoos" a 3.5 (but can't so it gets 4)... quite simply, I don't imagine I will refer to it much in the future, except for a few thought provoking passages... instead I will go back to "Book 4". The book would be a good addition for Crowley collectors.

5-0 out of 5 stars for the ultimate in precision of thought
when you read a book of this caliber you mustlook up each and every word that you do not know the correct defination of.Aleister Crowley has a command over the english language. This book proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Essential Cornerstone
After some years of study of Crowley and his system of Magick I find that his writings on Yoga are indeed the first steps that one must take in order to progress in the proper direction in this particular discipline. It is even to be found in his writings on Yoga that Magick and Yoga are one and the same.Although I must say that his approach to Yoga is not one of say an orthodox practitioner, it nevertheless produces results that are just as tangible if one were to study under the tutelage of a traditional instructor who favored the ethical and moralistic aspect's that have been passed down over the ages. His detailed methods of Scientific Illuminism are structured in such a way so as to bring about the highest level of Yogic attainment in a shorter duration than was previously possible.I wholeheartedly recommend the Eight Limbs to anyone who is even remotely interested in the study of Yoga or Magick.

5-0 out of 5 stars Clear, no nonsense approach
I find this book to be a clear exposition of yoga from someone who is one of the icons of 20th century occult mysticism.Unlike many approaches to Eastern spiritual disciplines, this book neither trivializes the subject, nor accepts every detail of Eastern nonsense.I find his explanations clear and I enjoy his humor. The type of yoga Crowley is discussing is quite different than the gymnastics we in the West associate with the subject, but I really think he gets closer to the heart of the matter than any other writer I've ever seen.If I were going to pick only 1 book on yoga, this would be it. ... Product Description

One of the last books written by Samael Aun Weor, Revolutionary Psychology synthesizes a lifetime of work and expresses the beauty and terrors of the psychological revolution, the true basis of the path of spiritual regeneration.

As the Buddha has his Dhammapada, and Jesus his Sermon on the Mount, so Samael Aun Weor has Revolutionary Psychology.

This essential treatise is one of the most important resources for understanding the many details of the psychological work; without a solid and comprehensive understanding of esoteric psychology, one cannot progress in the work to Self-realize the Being.

"All things, all circumstances that occur outside ourselves, on the stage of this world, are exclusively the reflection of what we carry within.

"With good reason then, we can solemnly declare that the 'exterior is the reflection of the interior.'

"When someone changes internally and if that change is radical, then circumstances, life and the external also change."

Chapters: The Level of Being; The Marvelous Ladder; Psychological Rebellion; The Essence; To Accuse Oneself; Life; The Internal State; Erroneous States; Personal Events; The Different "I's"; The Beloved Ego; Radical Change; The Observer and the Observed; Negative Thoughts; Individuality; The Book of Life; Mechanical Creatures; The Supersubstantial Bread; The Good Master of the House; The Two Worlds; Observation of Oneself; Chatter; The World of Relations; The Psychological Song; Return and Recurrence; Infant's Self-cognizance; The Publican and the Pharisee; Willpower; Decapitation; The Permanent Center of Gravity; The Gnostic Esoteric Work; Prayer in the Work

5-0 out of 5 stars An essential read for any aspiring esotericists
This book is an English translation of a Spanish text written in 1975 or so. It is his most useful work in my opinion, and I know all his work quite well. It is advanced a its logic is a little beyond the intelligence of most people so you will need to prepare well before you read it. Belzebuub's courses taught me the basics and then this book became very valuable to me.

It is a work that needs to be read and reread over and over until one finds oneself living it. The purpose of the book is to teach people how to become super-human by using a special technique to disintegrate their weaknesses. No meditation or astral projection has ever given me the happy feelings that this technique gave me. It is referred to as the first key to spiritual progress by most reputable men throughout history. I wish you all the strength and understanding in using it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best book on psychology in print.
I've loved the works of Carl Jung, Freud, and many other people that have tried to understand Psychology (Soul Study). This is my absolute favorite. The best explanation on the many different conflicts living in a man's subconscious is given here. This work wants only to bring to light that which we are ignoring in the present moment. That which we don't want to see in ourselves because of fear and pride. Only by becoming truly conscious of all these elements we are composed of will we ever be able to change them.

-A wonderful book to use as a tool to better understand ourselves.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have
This is a great beginning book for students interested in Gnostic psychology. Gnosis is a vast and complex science and can often be overwhelming. I highly recommend individuals who are interested in this studies to begin with either this or "The Great Rebellion" by the same author.

Keep in mind this is not just a book to be read, it has to be lived. The techniques given the the Master do work, it is simply up to the reader to implement them. Students should patiently study the works of the Master, as you will see that the more you awaken you consciousness, the more you will discover from his books.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nothing Special
To me, the writing seemed fragmented and incohesive. There are volumes upon volumes of better types of books available on psychology, sociology and spiritual matters.

5-0 out of 5 stars revolutionary!
This book contains profound wisdom of the ages; beyond time, beyond our physical existence. Schools and universities do not teach us about the secrets to find permanent happiness and inner peace. In fact, this is a mystery to many, many people.

Who are we? Why are we here? What is our purpose in life? Who can answer these questions? This book opens our eyes and mind to a new vision. We alone can find the answer to all our questions, by looking within.

This book introduces the methods to a new and practical way of living. It brings us onto a new journey to discover the treasures beyond this three dimensional world. ... Read more

Product Description
In this basic and practical introduction to the fundamental basis of Gnosis, Samael Aun Weor offers a breadth of exercises for the reader to establish stability and understanding in their daily life. The sincere person who implements the guidance given in this profound book will discover a wealth of insight from their efforts.Gnosis is, after all, "knowledge" (Greek), and each seeker is enjoined to "Know Thyself."This volume, although simple in its expression and thin in size, exudes the perfume of many centuries of profound Initiatic Wisdom. "Life is an absurd succession of fleeting and vain desires. When we profoundly comprehend that all the desires in life are fleeting and vain, when we understand that the physical body is engendered in sin and that its destiny is to rot in the grave, then true peace of the mind is born from that profound comprehension. Contradiction and conflict disappears. Only the mind that is in peace can solve problems. Peace rests in the silence of the mind." ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great book to start learning about ourself
This book is simple to read, and is a great introduction to the profound mystical teachings- the science of the soul, the key to the mysteries of the universe. Study it well, in a practical way, and see the transformation within.

5-0 out of 5 stars Practical advice
This book is a preview of the teachings of Samael Aun Weor. It quickly gives information that is pertinent to our lives and can be implemented by anyone. After reading it, you will find yourself wanting to know more.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for anyone.
Gnosis is a Greek word for 'direct, experiential knowledge'.This is a loving and very powerful introduction to the study and practise of Gnosis.

The book is divided into nine short lessons, each of which includes an invigorating daily practise as a conclusion. Some of the lessons include "The Power of Thought", "The Law of Karma", "Money", "Mental Action", "Meditation and Intoxication", and "Death'.

These lessons are clear and moving; they are about modern life here and now, without any ambiguous spiritual chatter at all.

To share, here is the opening paragraph from Lesson One:

"It is necessary to be successful in life.If you want to be successful, you should begin by being sincere with yourself: recognize your own errors. When we recognize our errors we are on the path to correcting them.Everyone who corrects his own errors is inevitably successful. The businessman who daily blames others for his own failures and never recognizes his own errors will not be successful.Remember that the greatest criminals consider themselves to be saints. If we visit a penitentiary we will prove to ourselves that none of the criminals consider themselves guilty.Almost all of them say to themselves, "I am innocent."Don't make the same mistake.Have the courage to recognize your own errors. Thus will you escape greater evils."

This chapter (which is a few paragraphs longer), ends with a simple exericse called "An exercise to control your anger".

I hope you enjoy this book.
