But, you see, because Rastafari are found everywhere and our philosophy is common, you will find that our influence and contributions are basically the same. Especially in the Caribbean region. Many people see it as a very good alternative to the established religions, especially to Christianity . We were taken out of Africa and sent here - to work. This view was correct then. At the time, these nations that we now control were not ours. They belonged mostly to Great Britain, and other European powers. However, times have changed. Britain no longer control these nations. We, the black African people, do. We should no longer cling to an outdated view that we need to go home we are already at home.

Finally those curls remembered the traditional hair dress of the ethiopian Oromo-people, but also the head plaster of the Asante-priests in Ghana and the Baye-case-sect in Senegal. With the triumphant advance of the Reggae-music Rasta-curls became worldwide popular in the middle of the seventieth. Under the blacks of the Caribbean, Africa and the United States a kind of hair-renaissance began. Skillful woven braids and hair snails again were discovered. Before many blacks had tried to adapt the appearance of the whites; with hot pairs of pliers they had extracted their curls or they tried to restrain the ruffle with creams.
