This conference is part of the North Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, which in turn is a part of the North American Division of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The objectives of this organization are twofold: (1) to constitute a representative body of Seventh-day Adventitsts in central and western Oregon and southwest Washington, and (2) to secure a systematic and united effort to disseminate, within its boundaries and throughout the world, the everlasting gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The purpose of this organization shall be to support and promote the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and to conduct its activities in harmony with the North Pacific Union Conference and the North American Division of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Chapter 3 - Here is a true and ongoing account concerning worship and praise music (hymns etc.) in a church setting. This is a true story and there has been some debate regarding the necessity of this kind of information. However, due to the nature of the situation I believe it can be very helpful to those out there who feel they are alone and that nobody can relate to their situation and/or maybe they are even starting to question their own God given talents as being scripturally sound. That is why I find that the internet is such a great tool and a resource for some of life's most difficult questions because it obliterates the boundaries of communication and distance. I have made NO attempt to name names or the church name, or even church titles for that matter. I do have a forum for this as well as any information on the whole site and welcome any corrections or maybe even their account of the situation. I am rewriting the whole situation keeping this text in mind

The origin of the Seventh-day Adventists (SDAs) can be traced to the Millerite Movement of the 19th Century. This movement was largely responsible for what has been called the Great second advent awakening . William Miller (1782-1849) was a farmer who settled in upstate New York after the war of 1812. He was originally a Deist (a person who believes that God created the universe but has not been actively involved since). After two years of private Bible study, Miller converted to Christianity and became a Baptist lay leader. He was convinced that the Bible contained coded information about the end of the world and the Second Coming of Jesus . He also realized that he had an obligation to teach his findings to others. In 1831, he started to preach; the next year, he wrote articles about his findings. In 1833, he published a pamphlet on end-time prophecy. In 1836, his book Evidences from Scripture and History of the Second Coming of Christ about the Year 1843 was published.
