Chad Hansen's Chinese Philosophy Pages Daoist-oriented interpretations This site contains segments of an extended interpretive theory of Classical Chinese philosophy that takes Daoism (Taoism) as the philosophical center . The interpretive theory turns on a new, more philosophical reading of the Daoist philosopher Zhuangzi (ChuangTzu ). My analysis highlights skeptical and relativist themes in his thinking. The crucial novelty is the assumption that Zhuangzi was a philosopher of language , like his close friend and philosophical interlocutor, Hui Shi , . He was deeply engaged with the linguistic and other insights of the Later Mohists (sometimes called Neo-Mohists or Dialectical Mohists) and the School of Names . His relation to the other famous Daoist, Laozi (Lao Tzu) is rather more indirect but their views are complementary in that both deal wi th dao guide at a higher level than do Confucians or Mohists. The site also contains my related writings about Confucianism

The Free Music Philosophy (v1.4)
I've also written a progress and prospects article in response to criticisms of this manifesto, and to demonstrate its feasibility in marketing music, and an article on the future of music
What is the Free Music Philosophy (FMP)
It is an anarchistic grass-roots, but high-tech, system of spreading music: the idea that creating, copying, and distributing music must be as unrestricted as breathing air, plucking a blade of grass, or basking in the rays of the sun.
What does it mean to use the term "Free Music"?
The idea is similar to the notion of Free Software ], and like with Free Software, the word "free" refers to freedom, not price. Specifically, Free Music means that any individual has the freedom of copying, distributing, and modifying music for personal, noncommercial purposes. Free Music does not mean that musicians cannot charge for records, tapes, CDs, or DATs. The above definition of Free implies that any tangible object cannot be made free. However, something that can be copied arbitrarily many times, like music, should be set free. When I say music, I mean the expression of ideas (in the form of a musical composition or a sound recording) on some medium, and not the medium itself. Thus you have the freedom to make a copy of a CD I've created, the freedom to download soundfiles of songs I've created from my server on the Internet, the freedom to cover or improve upon a song I've written, but you are not necessarily entitled to free CDs.

ABSTRACT
From Genesis to AD 2002 Change in the Universe is random according to the nature of matter and energy. The solar system (Sun, planets, moons, etc.), galaxies, etc. were formed by the condensation of matter/dust by gravity and by the rotation of this matter. The rotation resulted in objects circling each other according to their mass and distribution. The age of the Earth is given at about 4 billion years. For billions of years there was little or no life as we know it, only a mix of atoms and molecules, with no systematic reproductive process. PROOF OF EVOLUTION: As is obvious, every human is different.

  • What is Postmodernism? Few scholars have attempted to reduce the term 'postmodernism' to an objective definition for fear that such definition becomes the immeidate target for a postmodern critique. The History of Quantum Theory
The idea that energy could be emitted or absorbed only in discrete energy quanta was so new that it could not be fitted into the traditional framework of physics. An attempt by Planck to reconcile his new hypothesis with the older laws of radiation failed in the essential points. It took five years until the next step could be made in the new direction. This time it was the young Albert Einstein, a revolutionary genius among the physicists, who was not afraid to go further away from the old concepts. There were two problems in which he could make use of the new ideas. One was the so-called photoelectric effect, the emission of electrons from metals under the influence of light. The experiments, especially those of Lenard, had shown that the energy of the emitted electrons did not depend on the intensity of the light, but only on its colour or, more precisely, on its frequency. This could not be understood on the basis of the traditional theory of radiation. Einstein could explain the observations by interpreting Planck's hypothesis as saying that light consists of quanta of energy travelling through space. The energy of one light quantum should, in agreement with Planck's assumptions, be equal to the frequency of the light multiplied by Planck's constant.
