uncensored commentary OUTDATED VIEWS ON CHRIS BENOIT AND OWEN HART Elliot Sparks - 31st December 1998 I've heard enough. Too many people in this world are spending their time yammering on about how Chris Benoit deserves so much more than he is getting from management. Oh, i am sick of this damn argument. Now, as i write this there is speculation abound that Benoit and fellow mid carders Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko have re-signed with WCW for three years. Of course it is unlikely that this is entirely true, and if it was it would be a terrible shame. But let's assume for now the Crippler is still heading for the exit at Turner Towers, and will be a free agent soon. People are expecting that he will be packing his bags and heading to Titan the moment he becomes a free agent. If Benoit does do that, i would expect him to do so with a little aprehension. The reason? Owen Hart. Owen is about as close to Chris Benoit as any wrestler on the planet. Both are 31 years old, both are Canadian. Both are about 5' 10" and 220lbs. Both have excellent aerial skills which are rarely seen and can put out the best mat wrestling displays that anyone in their respective companies could. Also - and here's something you may agree with, but i don't - niether can hold their own on the microphone. The reason i disagree with that is because - in Owen's case, at least - it is just not true. Now, the King Of Harts may be crap on the mike, but Owen Hart isn't. The Slammy Award Winner may be bad on the mike, but Owen Hart isn't. The Black Hart may be worse than Ahmed Johnson in the speech department, but Owen Hart isn't. | |
