Sarimah To Sing February 9, 2001 Malaysia TV show host Sarimah Ibrahim is getting into singing. Sarimah, who has in her time presented the RIM Charts as well as acted in "Puteri Impian 2," said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur that this is something she has always wanted to do. "I came out of my mother's womb singing," she joked, before revealing that her pop album will be produced by Croatian Dubravko Siskic (Doobie). "I used to dress up as Madonna when I was younger, except for the bra and g-string because I'm a good girl," she joked. The album, that will be a mix between Malay tunes as well as English is set for release in May, is be the first for this TV show host-turned-actress-turned-VJ-turned-singer. Sarimah is also the first pop singer to be signed under indie label Positive Tone. Ahmad Izham Omar confessed that he didn't think much of the deal before he met Sarimah. "I had this stereotype... actress cum TV host wants to cut an album. (She's) got nothing else to do," but then stressed that when he met Sarimah, she impressed him with her talent. "We expect nothing but the best from her," he added. | |
