Anthony Michael Hall was born April 14, 1968 in Boston, MA. He was born Michael Anthony Hall, but eventually adapted the stage name we're all familiar with. Known for his portrayal of nerdy characters in John Hughes movies, he is a beloved member of the Brat Pack. His first television project was " The Gold Bug ", in 1981, a story based on an Edgar Allen Poe story. His next project was the car racing themed movie " Six Pack ", (1982) which costarred Kenny Rogers and Diane Lane. His breakout picture was 1983's "National Lampoon's Vacation" , in which he played Rusty Grizwold, son to Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo . This classic family road trip movie catapulted him into his first Brat Pack movie, " Sixteen Candles ", in 1984. Costarring with Molly Ringwald, Hall played Farmer Ted, the "king of the dipshits." 1985 was a busy year for Hall. Not only did he star in " The Breakfast Club ", one of the quintissential Brat Pack movies, but he also hit it big with " Weird Science " and joined the cast of NBC's
