In Mitch Marcus' directorial debut, an alienated, unhappy young man everyone calls Hate (Scott Caan) lives with his alcoholic father (James Caan) and has spent time in juvenile detention for stealing a car. After a fight with his father, Hate takes a gun and leaves home. His life spirals downwards after he shoots a man who was assaulting a woman. Hate and the woman, Cindy (Missy Crider), go on the run from the police across the southern California desert, become lovers and get shelter from the cops by a member of a local Native American tribe.
