Sampo Honkala VERMASVUORI ELI ILMOLAN MÄKI - UNOHDETTU KANSALLISMAISEMA Peruskartan lehdeltä 2132 08 löytyy yksi Hämeen ja aikoinaan koko Suomen tunnetuimmista näköalapaikoista - Vermasvuori. Kirjassaan Häme vuodelta 1908 kuvailee F.O.Rapola Vermasvuoren näköalaa seuraavalla tavalla: "Seudun korkein kohta on Vermasvuori Hauhon, Pälkäneen ja Tyrvännön rajalla.

Online Introduction
Although David Hume (1711–76) is often considered the greatest philosopher that Britain has ever produced, in his own day he was just as famous for his history as for his philosophy. Hume’s chief historical masterpiece, The History of England, appeared in four instalments between 1754 and 1762. It was quickly established as a classic, overshadowing most other multi-volume histories of Great Britain at the time. The work far outlasted the expected lifespan of histories of this sort, and by the end of the 19th century it had been through over one hundred editions and reprintings. In spite of its enormous popularity, the early responses to Hume's History have been among the least explored areas of Hume scholarship. This two-volume set – the fourth part of the important Early Responses to Hume series – is the first systematic presentation of the 18th and 19th-century criticisms of Hume's History . Most of the forty-one selections appear here for the first time since their original publication, and many are previously undocumented. They include a new translation of the 1755 review of Hume's
