K - Religion
O - Large Cities (Flat Plains)
R - Mountains
E - Rice (Agriculture - Flat Plains) A - Water (Yellow Sea) Korea's larger cities are very modern. The billboard on the building at the far left is a video wall about 30 x 60 feet. (See inset at right.) The monetary system of Korea uses the WON. One U.S. dollar = 1,111 WON (Apr. 2000), so 10,000 WON (at Left) = $9.00 This is their largest bill. The billboard at the left was for the movie City of Angels Off the coast of Korea there are nearly 3,000 islands of various sizes. There is 2,413 km of coastline. Therefore, fishing is one of Korea's major industries. The eastern side of Korea rises steeply to the mountains and then there is a gradual slope to the flat plains on the west and south where the larger cities can be found.

12:00 PM Apr. 23, 1999 PT The British royal family is concerned about porn on the Internet. "The Internet is a fantastic development but it is difficult to estimate the harm it can do when it is exploited by the peddlers of pornography and other crooks," Prince Philip told an audience of South Korean businessmen, the BBC reported Friday.

The prince warned that not all technological developments are necessarily desirable. One adult Web-site operator took umbrage, saying he's no criminal. "I can see that a lot other porn sites are crooks," said Dan Parisi, who runs whitehouse.com . "But we're an honest company. We're based in the United States and have a customer service department and take it very seriously." "Buying guns on the Internet. That's the real problem. All these

Territory
Korea is a peninsula state located in the northeastern part of the Asiatic Continent, bordering China and Russia in the north and surrounded by seas in the east, west, and south. The territory of Korea, the Korean Peninsula, stretches approximately 1,000 kilometers from north to south, and 216 kilometers from west to east, covering an area of 221,000 square kilometers. There are mountain ranges with fine landscapes on the east side of the peninsula, rivers and fertile plains on the western side, and the sea on the southwestern side is dotted with over 3,400 lovely islets, all of these well deserving the name "Land of Picturesque Rivers and Mountains" At the end of WWII in 1945, however, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel, the south ruled by the Republic of Korea, a free democratic state, and the north ruled by a Communist state, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. After the Armistice Agreement of the Korean War was signed in 1953

I will follow the World Cup : "TV" That wasn't a miracle! - 19 June 2002
A lot of people said that was a miracle, extraordinary and incredible something like that, but that wasn't only miracle. I believe that it was a result of effort. Of course, at first I couldn't believe my eyes and I also thought that it was a miracle. But I realised that wasn't only a miracle.
My team has made an effort for several years and now they've been rewarded for their effort. I know that they felt frustrated many times before and they had to endure an insult after that. But they've never given up. So they made it in the end. Now all of the Koreans are celebrating for our victory. A lot of people are singing and shouting "Dae-han-min-kuk (It means Korea in Korean)". They are celebrating themselves as a 12th player.
I really want to go back Korea, because I want to feel the joy of victory with my countrymen. If I were in Korea, I wouldn't tolerate my tears. I'm really proud of my team and country. Especially, I'd like to appreciate Hiddink who is head coach of Korea team. He has fixed a lot of the bad habits of the team and his brilliant way of training has made them improve.
We are going to have a match with Spain. Many football experts expect that Spain will win, but my team will show them our power. Spain, you must be careful, if you don't want end up like Italy!

More Flags ... Travel Warning History According to the Koreans, the first of their kin was born in 2333 BC. Less aesthetically-minded scientists believe Korea was first inhabited around 30,000 BC, when tribes from central and northern Asia stumbled on the peninsula. Under constant pressure from China, these tribes banded together to found a kingdom in the 1st century AD. By 700 AD the Silla Kingdom of Korea was hitting its cultural stride, littering the country with palaces, pagodas and pleasure gardens and influencing the development of Japan's culture. But in the early 13th century the Mongols reached Korea and gave it their usual scorched-earth treatment. When the Mongol Empire collapsed, the Joseon Dynasty took over and a Korean script was developed.
