They are all looking for recognised success of their talent, publication of their songs and instrumental themes, and to receive money earned as royalties from the exploitation of their songwriting, composing and performances. The main difference is that songwriters and composers are seeking publishing deals, to have artistes record their songs and to see any instrumental themes succeed in television programmes and advertising, whereas performing songwriters are not only seeking publishing deals but also management deals and record deals. Laura has been involved in music in many capacities since her childhood. She wrote her first "real" song at 13 a year after she picked up the guitar and has been writing constantly ever since. Laura has a B.A. in Music (classical guitar with a touch of electronic composition)from St. Mary's College of MD. By day she teaches elementary school band at 7 schools. Laura's classical training combine with her stubborness to reject that training and make for a solid vocalist and guitarist. Add passionate, well thought out lyrics and she comes at you as the type of performer that you can't get out of your head. In addition to the obsessive songwriting passion,Laura likes photography, painting, autumn, fireworks, cold weather, flannel shirts and mint choclate chip ice cream, and aztec mochas.
