About Business Law The department offers four papers in Business Law (ACTB papers). These aim to give students familiarity with those branches of law most useful in the conduct of business generally. They are quite different in both approach and content emphasis from the papers a student who plans to be a lawyer will study. The papers taught in Commerce aim to be practical and provide a working knowledge of essential skills rather than be based on deep legal theory. Business Law 101 is a new course commencing in 1999.
