http://www.wolfeboro.org/Pages/nonacad.html
A summer at Wolfeboro is far more than academics. The focus on afternoons and weekends turns to a wide range of sports, recreational and entertainment opportunities both on campus as well as within the surrounding summer resort area.
The campus has a complete waterfront facility for swimming, sailing, and canoeing, a five-acre playing field, tennis courts, volleyball court, basketball court, and weight-training apparatus. While many options are available, some activities are required for specific age groups, such as our Water, Land and Mountains (WLM) Program for those 14 years old and younger and the Mountain, Arts, Physical Fitness and Safety (MAPS) Program for 15 and 16-year-olds. (See the Student Handbook of Policies and Procedures for details).
Athletic and recreational activities are organized by age group. The student enjoys spirited intramural games and activities. In addition, every student is assigned to an intramural sports team (six teams in the older division and six teams in the younger division). These teams compete on an almost daily basis in soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball, and a series of all-league competitions such as a water carnival, land carnival, swimming meet, sailing regatta, and various other sports.
Optional weekend trips are scheduled to fairs and events of special interest in Wolfeboro and vicinity, and include excursions to places such as the mountains, Maine seashore, water and amusement parks, movies, and roller-skating.

Thank you for your interest in the Club with one of the finest views on the Great Lakes. Year-round enjoyment for members of all ages is provided through the many boating and non-boating activities sponsored by the Club. It is also recognized as a special place for social and business entertaining. In addition to an excellent full service dining room, the Club has a well respected instructional sailing program for people of all ages. Its naturally protected harbor affords convenient access to deep water and is just minutes from local fishing, sailing, swimming, and rendezvous locations. Questions regarding membership and club activities may be directed to the Membership Chairperson or Club General Manager and a personal tour may be arranged.
Historical Overview
Inter-club races and wild game dinners were the main social features of the club around 1935-36. The boats were of various types and sizes which, although making racing difficult, was by no means sufficient reason to prevent this activity. In 1936, Commodore Burdeno presented the club with a perpetual sailing trophy awarded annually to the catboat winning the July 4 th race. Another annual event the membership found they could depend on was the sinking of the houseboat when a big northeaster would blow. As with racing, teamwork continued to build with all member coming out to help raise and clean her so that life could continue.

At NEMC we believe that musical growth must be complemented by an equal emphasis on the physical and social development of each camper. Our students share great times and make lasting friendships. NEMC's 200 acres feature a 6-acre recreational complex with 3 tennis courts, soccer field, 2 softball diamonds, volleyball and badminton courts, archery range, and basketball court. Aerobics, dramatics, and physical fitness are other recreational options. Highly-qualified life guards and water safety instructors coordinate lessons and recreational swimming. We also offer instruction in sailing and canoeing for beginning through advanced levels. We carefully select our counseling staff of 25 college students for their interest in and ability to lead young people. Living in the cabins with the campers, the counselors coach recreational activities and organize all social events. A counselor's primary role is to support and encourage each camper. They make sure there are "No strangers - only friends new campers have yet to meet." Students also particularly like to gather around campfires at the edge of the lake where they sing songs together, tell stories, and watch gorgeous sunsets as darkness falls.

Maine Landowner Liability Explained
The information is this brochure applies to individuals, businesses, non-governmental organizations and other non-governmental entities that own, manage, lease, occupy or hold easements on land. (see note at end for credits and additional information.)
If someone comes onto my land, and gets hurt, am I liable?
No, except in rare circumstances. Maine has a strong law to protect landowners known as the “landowner liability" law (or the "recreational use statute), Title 14, M.R.S.A. Section 159-A. If someone uses your land or passes through your land for outdoor recreation or harvesting, you assume no responsibility and incur no liability for injuries to that person or that person's property. You are protected whether or not you give permission to use your land. If you allow volunteers to maintain or improve your land for recreation or harvesting, you are also protected from liability injuries to them.

people in Southern California, it is recreational ground zero secondary home, butof all the activities on El Mirage, none is quite as exciting as land sailing.
http://www.vanderstahl.com/sayling.html
One of our favorite hiking treks is the East Table Mountain road. This road ends at a 7500 ft. peak overlooking a majestic panoramic view of the High Desert below. Approximately 20 miles to the north, as the crow flies, lies the El Mirage dry lakebed. From our vantage point, we can soak in the massive expansions of this desert depression.
The powdery, white, alkaline soil outlines the contours of this ancient lakebed. Many people are familiar with El Mirage from the countless TV commercials and music videos that have been filmed there. The moonscape is a dramatic backdrop for nearly any photographic event, but this vast lakebed is far more than a visual curiosity.
For many people in Southern California, it is recreational ground zero. Dirt bikes, ATCs, hot-rods, and of course, land-sailors have made this their secondary home, but of all the activities on El Mirage, none is quite as exciting as land sailing. With El Mirage's vast, nearly endless terrain and like-clockwork prevailing winds, the lake attracts sailors from, literally, all around the world.
The rule "designers never stop designing" is always in play at Van der Stähl Scientific. Charlie purchased a basket case production land yacht and made significant design improvements. Not to be outdone, Tim built his boat from the ground up using off the shelf parts, like BMX wheels and plywood. "These are great engineering exercises", says Tim Mangus, "We love to play with different boat widths and sail configurations to see what makes the fastest boat."

Water Safety
Guam's waters offer the outdoor sports enthusiast a variety of recreational activities to choose from. Unfortunately, water-related activities sometimes lead to tragedy. A very real danger exists near, on and beyond the reef. For that reason, the reef is off-limits to all Department of Defense personnel and family members. That means no reef-walking. The waves and current are often misleading and cause those unaware of the actual conditions to be swept over the reef and drown. All U.S. Navy members are required to view a water safety video and sign an acknowledgment sheet indicating understanding of the Navy's reef policy before they can enter the water. Each command should have a copy of the video; however, a copy can be obtained by calling the ComNavMarianas Public Affairs Office at 339-5207.
Water entry is prohibited on Andersen Air Force Base unless a services squadron lifeguard is on duty. People thinking of enjoying the water recreation offered here should consider the type of activity they are about to embark upon and apply good old-fashioned common sense. Don't overextend yourself, always swim with a buddy, wear protective footwear and remember the reef and surrounding areas are extremely dangerous. We are not trying to discourage the use of Guam's waters; we're only making sure people are aware of the dangers associated with water-related activities.

French Polynesia's Tuamotu Islands French Polynesia's remote Tuamotu Islands number 78 in total, making them the largest of the Tahiti-Polynesian archipelagoes. Known as the Tuamotu chain, these tropical and sparsely inhabited islands are in fact atolls- their sum total comprising the world's largest chain of atolls. Covering huge distances of the South Pacific sea, the total population of the 41 inhabited islands is only a mere 12,500 persons or so.
The Islands are not a common destination for travelers due to their remoteness and lack of a developed tourism industry. This makes them very interesting to visit for people who want a true remote Pacific island experience! When tourists and travelers due journey to these islands, they usually come to dive, to slow down the pace of their lives, or are associated with one of the local businesses. This site primarily covers travel and tourism information for the 4 most traveled islands: Rangiroa, being the Tuamotu's largest tourist destination, followed by Manihi, Tikehau, and in recent years Fakarava. As with our other island sites, TST has attempted to organize it's Tuamotu Island categories of activities, information, and travel and tourism into an easy and friendly website browsing experience.
