COLLECTION POLICY STATEMENT
JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION
I. PROGRAMMATIC INFORMATION
The School of Journalism and Mass Communication is headquartered at the North Miami Campus. It is fully accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications. The School offers a Bachelor of Science in Communication with sequences in advertising, broadcasting (with production or management tracks), public relations, and journalism (with print journalism track for newspaper, magazine, or wire service career, or the broadcast journalism track for television and radio careers). Minors offered are in advertising, Broadcasting, Journalism, Public Relations, and Mass Communication. Moreover, the School also offers certificate programs in Spanish Language Journalism and in Student Media Advising. The graduate program offers professional education leading to the Master of Science in Mass Communication with specializations in print journalism, student media advising and public relations. The orientation of the graduate program is primarily professiona, not theoretical. The program is designed to enhance graduates' abilities to work int the mass communication professions.
