Journalism Library Mission
The Journalism Library supports Indiana University's mission by facilitating research and scholarly communication, teaching and professional service. The Journalism Library's collections, electronic resources and staff services are developed to support professional education and training for employment and leadership in the communication industry and institutions. The Journalism Library collections and reference services assist teaching and research in mass communication and interpersonal communication as reflected in the separate academic programs in the School of Journalism and the College of Arts and Sciences departments of Communication and Culture and Telecommunications. The resources of the Journalism Library are a valued part of the internationally recognized research collections of the Indiana University Libraries. As the study of mass media institutions and mass communication is fundamentally integrated with research and scholarly communication in the humanities and social sciences, the journalism collections and information services are augmented by other Bloomington campus libraries.
