    Techniques (1)
After the parts of glass have been cut, cleaned and
dried to each part on the revolving side is glued a foil,
which to both sides is notched and pressed. The assembled parts are now greaced in solder-paste
and every glass-particle is connected to the neighbouring
one with solder-points. Now that all parts are fixed a half
round joint is laid. After this the whole picture is turned
around and then greaced and soldered from that side.

    Accessible Art

Every day, while walking, running or riding, we pass by art, rarely pausing to take a look. Accessible art is public art, freely available for everyone to enjoy. It's art in the limelight! Stop a moment and enjoy public art. It's everywhere! Alexandra Exter - Art Into Life
Creating art in a man's world calls for a certain amount of courage, especially if you are young female artists sandwiched between two Russian revolutions! Yet, female artists joined in a Russian renovation of art that stimulated artists worldwide. Arte Povera - 1962 to 1972 While Pop Art was yielding to Minimalism and Conceptual Art in the United States, Italy's Arte Povera artists were challenging traditional artistic practice, particularly the supremacy of painting.

    • There should be red navigation bars at the left and top of this page. If either is missing, click on Art History with Michelli to install the site.
    • All art-oriented sites are graphics intensive. That means they are often slow - sometimes painfully so. The only answer is to cultivate zen-like patience.
    • The sites I have put together will appear inside my site. You can get back to the stained glass pages by clicking on the yellow links above, or you can use the back button to go back one screen at a time.
    • Most printed publications about stained glass are strongly biassed in favour of Early Medieval glass. The nineteenth-century Clayton and Bell window to the right, for example, would be deplored as being too realistic, too dark, and covered with too much paint. This is extraordinary. The history of stained glass is the history of ingenious attempts to EXPAND the range of possibilities. Check out the historical technique links below to see this for yourself.
