Wisconsin.gov g Testimonials "On behalf of the citizens of Wisconsin, I applaud and thank the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board for the contributions it has made toward educating citizens about maintaining the environmental quality of our great State while balancing social, ecological and economic needs. Fifteen years ago, when I ran for Lieutenant Governor, a tenet of my platform was to rebuild confidence in the State's ability to tackle any problem. The WEEB’s dedication to providing Wisconsin citizens with the knowledge and skills to do just that is commendable. Wisconsin has a long and proud history of concern for our environment that has set the stage for our future. Environmental education is based on the premise that daily decisions made in both public and private settings can influence the storyline. Politics is also based on this premise. I am confident future projects funded via the environmental education grant program will continue to enhance environmental quality and increase the likelihood of achieving a ‘happily ever after’ scenario for all our citizens.”

Environmental Education Institutions
The International Directory on Environmental Education Institutions is one of UNESCO's efforts to develop an international information network to facilitates an exchange of information, knowledge and materials on Environmental Education and Education for a Sustainable Future at large. This electronic version of the UNESCO Directory, offers a comprehensive list of EE training and research Institutions around the world. These comprise universities, research institutions, NGOs, training institutions and others. The basis for this directory was prepared in cooperation with UNEP and a first edition was published in 1971 with revisions in 1981 and 1989. Since then, Environmental Education has faced many changes in name and content and new institutions have adopted training and research programmes on environmental issues. To reflect these changes we found it necessary to publish a further version of the directory in 1995. We are now in the process of preparing a complete, up-do-date version for publication in English, French and Spanish, within the next two years for which we strongly depend on your corrections and/or comments A short description of the content:
The information is presented by region according to the United Nation Standard System and within these regions, countries are listed in alphabetical order.

CALIFORNIA EDUCATION STANDARDS Environmental Education providers like zoos, nature centers, and State Parks provide excellent environmental education opportunities for teachers. But with the push for accountability to the California State Standards, teachers need to know how these EE programs correlate to the standards they need to teach! It is imperative that all EE providers become familiar with the California Education Standards
Many environmental education providers have already completed the task, and here are examples of their finished product.
Need help with correlating your present program to the State Standards? Here are the beginning steps:
