The AGARS is fixed-based, and provides dynamic control-loaded responses. Based on SGI graphics technology, it is reconfigurable into 4 different aircraft types. Equipped with a high-resolution visual system with a 150 degree field of view, it allows meteorological conditions to be varied. It provides for data capture of up to 150 variables continuously at 30Hz for a four-hour mission storing up to 7 GigB of data and includes up to 85 programmable nonroutine events. Pilots using the AGARS to test new equipment can have the benefit of being able to provide immediate feedback on the usability of a device. The AGARS provides simulated audio, in addition to the visuals, that gives the simulator a realistic feel.
