April 1841 in Berlin) war preußischer General und Kriegsminister. Sein Vater Bonaventura von Rauch (1740-1814), ein gebürtiger Bayer und verheiratet mit Johanna Bandel (1752-1828), war Ingenieurcapitän in braunschweigischen Diensten, trat aber 1777 in das preußische Heer und war 1788 Lehrer sowie 1798 Direktor der Ingenieurakademie. Als letztere aus Veranlassung der Kriegsereignisse des Jahres 1806 aufgelöst wurde, wurde Rauch sen., damals Generalmajor, nach Stettin gesandt und als Vizekommandant mit der Oberaufsicht über die vorzunehmenden Verteidigungsarbeiten betraut. Nachdem die Festung, ohne den geringsten Widerstand zu leisten, durch den Gouverneur, den General Friedrich Gisbert Wilhelm von Romberg (1729-1809), mit dessen Maßnahmen sowohl der Kommandant wie der Vizekommandant einverstanden waren, sich am 30. Oktober der leichten Reiterei des Generals Antoine-Charles-Louis de Lasalle ergeben hatte, wurde Rauch sen., nachdem er in Spandau eine Festungsstrafe verbüßt hatte, entlassen. Er starb 1814.
