Three different authors with three different stories but all very intriguing!! Each story captured my attention and kept it!! These stories just goes to show just how far God will go to turn situations around and make us better Christains!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Woman's Revenge

"A Woman's Revenge"(3 Sisters Books, 2010) is a trilogy of short stories by a triple threat of today's top writers in the urban Christian - Tiffany L. Warren, Sherri Lewis and Rhonda McKnight.

Each story tells of a woman scorned and the choices they make. Tiffany L. Warren's story, "A Slim Chance," is about a former overweight sister who does some wrong things for something right. Let's just say God is not a fan of plans, unless He has something to do with it.

"The Sweet Taste of Revenge," by Sherri Lewis is a twisted delicacy involving a woman who finds out her fiance has a serious sweet tooth that goes beyond what she has to offer.

"A Piece of Revenge," by Rhonda McKnight is a page turner as a woman whom after being taken advantage of by her husband, believes revenge is best served with a handgun from a pawn shop.

Three different women, three stories of betrayal equals "A Woman's Revenge."

5-0 out of 5 stars You Don't Want To Make A Sista Mad...
Nadine, Sabrina and Tamera have been taken advantage of by the men in their lives but they didn't just sit back and take it.They developed plans to get back what they lost and much more.Like they always say, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".

IN A SLIM CHANCE by Tiffany L. Warren, Nadine Robinson takes a year off for a total body make over only to discover that her best friend took her man.As she conjures up a plan to make things right, she loses sight of God and may push the love of her life away.

THE SWEET TASTE OF REVENGE by Sherri Lewis examines forgiveness while dishing out a sweet bit of vengeance.Sabrina Rogers has been left by the two women that meant the most to her - grandma and Roxie (her mother).Having to give up everything she ever wanted until she ran into Blake Harrison. This gorgeous big time lawyer brother just asked her to marry him even though she has to keep it all a secret.Life was looking up until she got the note stating "he is cheating on us".The actions that follow lead Sabrina down the road of forgiveness while taking vengeance by the reins.

Rhonda McKnight pens a tale titled, A PIECE OF REVENGE.Tamera Watson fell fast and hard for the handsome Leon.In less than a year, she sold her grandmother's house, got married, made plans to open a community center and banked nearly $200,000.Just as the community center was set to open, her husband and money disappeared.Tamera developed a plan to take back what was rightfully hers and nothing (or no one) would stop her.

Warren, Lewis, and McKnight have shown the world that women can ROCK a revenge story. The three short stories all demonstrate excellent character development, weave spell binding tales of revenge, forgiveness, and self-empowerment.The stories also offer evaluation of right and wrong with Godly undertones making you remember that `two wrongs don't make a right'.I've read novels by all 3 authors and this anthology is a MUST READ for every book lover.Five stars aren't enough for the power packed page turning work of fiction.

Note: This book was purchased from 3 Sisters Books based on recommendations of my RAWSISTAZ.

Deltareviewer - Reviewing for Real Page Turners

5-0 out of 5 stars Vengeance is Mine
A Bible quote many people have heard more than once is "Vengeance is mine." Revenge can seem very sweet while plotting it, but after the action is carried out, can one truly say it was as sweet as expected? A Woman's Revenge, by Tiffany L. Warren, Sherri Lewis, and Rhonda McKnight, is a book of three short Christian fiction stories shining a light on the actual satisfaction of getting even.

In "A Slim Chance" by Tiffany L. Warren, Nadine will stop at nothing to get Jamal, the man she loves. She has gone as far as to have an appearance-altering procedure. This is all the confidence she needed to pledge her undying love for him. However, when Nadine returns she finds out her best friend, Angelique, is engaged to Jamal. Instead of being happy for her friends, Nadine's blood is boiling from the ultimate betrayal. How far will she go to get her man? Will it all be worth it when all is said and done?

Sabrina has no one in the world except for Blake, her fiancé. She dreams of what the future holds for them. However, when she learns there is another woman in Blake's life, Sabrina is devastated. Her body is filled with rage when she realizes the other woman is no other than her estranged mother. In "The Sweet Taste of Revenge" by Sherri Lewis, mother and daughter put aside their differences long enough to seek revenge on the man who has hurt them. How far are they willing to go to relish sweet revenge?

In "A Piece of Revenge" by Rhonda McKnight, Tamera could see her dream of opening a center for underprivileged youths finally coming true. However, on the morning of what should have been a great day, she learns all of the funds is missing and so is Leon, her husband. When the police and a lawyer leave her with no other choice, Tamera hires a private investigator to find Leon. What will she do to Leon once he is found?

A Woman's Revenge is a very quick read. One day is all it took for me to finish. The stories were entertaining and engaging. I found myself talking aloud to the characters, even at the end. I was literally winded by this book. My mind was reeling from everything that went on. There were a few mistakes, but nothing that took away from any of the stories. This book is not only for readers of the Christian fiction genre, but for people who want to know exactly how sweet is revenge.

The author(s) provided a copy of the book for review purposes.

5-0 out of 5 stars No one delights more in vengeance than a woman, its sweet and satisfying
A Woman's Revenge is a collection of three confronting short stories, that's not short on ideas or characters. It's an effective display of why "we are to follow the Lord Jesus' command to "Love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us" (Matthew 5:44), leaving the vengeance to God."

Tiffany Warren opens the curtain with a "Slim Chance" as Nadine Robinson leaves her Georgia condo in the hands of her sister for 365 days to pursue a life altering decision; gastric bypass surgery things aren't what they use to be. Her decision to leave town without communicating her intentions to her loved ones quickly prove to be the wrong answer.
Upon her return to town and her old life she receives no support from her mom or dad regarding her decision and the love of her life is engage to her best friend. In Nadine's mind if she dropped much of her 300lbs Jamel would marry her. Like Nadine we believe God can do a mighty thing but we don't believe He will.

Exits Nadine and enters Sabrina Rogers, who treats her relationship with God like a bath. Which she only engage in when she's dirty or sore. Fortunately for Sabrina His grace is sufficient and His word is never returned void, God continues to offer new mercies every day. "The Sweet Taste of Revenge" is a story of young love. As an assistant; in more ways than one to Blake Harrison who's in the running to becoming partner in the firm where he works Sabrina dreams of her life as Mrs Blake Harrison. Estranged from family and friends her relationship with Blake takes a turn she never expects and with no one close to talk to, Sabrina reminiscence on times spent with her good friend Janine. As the story unfolds Blake ask Sabrina to marry him. With an engagement ring and a promise of marriage, Sabrina is on cloud 9; that is until she realizes she isn't the only future Mrs. Harrison. Even when she couldn't be Nadine's friend Janine was praying for her and as you know prayer changes things. In full revenge mode Sabrina begins to feel bad for Blake and starts to think the 10 steps to revenge plan.

Exits Sabrina and enters Tamera Watson, in "A Piece of Revenge" I had to ask myself what's a wife to do when her husband connive her out of not only her money but grant funding which was to be used towards her dream. Do you get even or go get your money? Tamera decides to go get her money and along the way she meets Kemuel Powers of Powers Investigations. She hires him to help her make sense of the mess Leon her husband has made for her. Unable to believe what her best friend and a cop already knows Tamera heads home to see if her husband's favorite jersey is in his closet. Once the closet door is opened she doesn't have to look for the shirt her mind sends an instant message to her heart. She immediately knows he is gone along with her $180,000.

Throughout each story A Woman's Revenge never waste words and never flowering up simple ideas. The storyline flowed and the characters were strong and stayed true to who they are. Even if you usually wouldn't consider a collection of stories; this is a must read and remember longer isn't necessarily better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stunningly beautiful!
Loaded with vibrant, brilliant detail images of a wide variety of works from the 1880s to the 1920s. the accompanying text provides a good biography of Tiffany and the history of the Tiffany Studios up until his death. An amazing book for simply staring at!

My only minor quibble is that many of the works are labeled "date unknown," making it hard to trace the evolution of techniques and style. Other than that, a godsend for glass lovers and workers! ... Read more

Product Description
Edwin Wintle was a successful, urbane professional whose life, at forty, was very comfortable. He had reached the point when he looked around at his well-ordered, unfettered existence and wondered, "Is this all there is?" After a desperate call from his sister at her wits’ end, his street-wise thirteen-year-old niece Tiffany -- a writhing ball of adolescent anger -- comes to live with him. If he felt he needed a shot in the arm, what he got proved more like electroshock therapy.

Breakfast with Tiffany chronicles the newly minted family through a year of tumult and drama, as instant parent Uncle Eddy watches his best-laid plans go awry. With an edgy wit and compassion reminiscent of Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris, Edwin Wintle recounts not only the coming of age of his beloved, if troubled niece, but his own as well. Just when it seems there is certain disaster, the two manage to pull through it with their unconventional little family in better shape than ever. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An unlikely family
What happens when a forty-something gay gay living in New York takes in his troubled fourteen-year-old niece for a year (or four)? We find out in Breakfast With Tiffany. Edwin enjoys his New York lifestyle as a single gay man working a stressful job as a film agent. But the relationship between his sister and niece is deteriorating fast and Tiffany is getting into more trouble than her mother can handle. Edwin steps in and offers to move Tiffany to NY to live with him and try to get her back on the right track. He had no idea what he was in for. The uncle and niece had previously had a good open relationship, with her living with him for a few summers, but this Tiffany is angry and feels victimized and Edwin is about to b introduced to a world that he knows little about: parenting. From finding a school to dealing with her bad crowd; talking about sex and trying to make Tiffany realize her potential; Edwin recounts the experience in detail.

I really enjoyed this. It's beautiful to see how the relationship between Tiffany and her uncle evolves over the course of a year. They make gains and setbacks and gains and setbacks. Edwin shares a lot about his own life as well, which is interesting, relevant, and not distracting. A good read.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Memoir!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I actually dreamed about it, and would wake up thinking about it, even after I was done reading it. I hope Edwin will write another book in regards to his time with Tiffany as I do feel like I want to know what else happened in their time together & when Tiffany went back home again~

5-0 out of 5 stars Sheer Genius!
I came upon this book quite by accident, but that's another story.I was intrigued by the reviews and what I found was beyond any hopes I had for this book.I was touched by the courage and selfless love this man had for both his sister and ulitmately, his niece. He gave without asking and saved at least one life.
The combination of humor, outrage, frustration and the senseless madness any child puts a parent through, will resonate with anyone who has actively parented a child. The amazing thing though, is that here is a man who, admittedly had a very enjoyable single lifestyle. His visual of hopping on top of a pool table to say goodbye to it all is both funny and sad, but above all loving and fearless in his desire to save his niece from herself.
The author paints a picture so well, you feel as if you know him.I found myself laughing out loud on the subway and crying at one point on MetroNorth.Obviously, I cannot say enough, so get this book and read for yourselves, I have already passed on 6 copies to friends of daughters.

5-0 out of 5 stars An uplifting, realistic book
I had a hard time putting this book down once I started -- always a good sign.Edwin John Wintle's memoir about taking in his teenage niece is a memorable piece of work.Wintle intersperses stories about his niece, Tiffany, with anecdotes about his own life and in the process creates a terrific experience for the reader.

Wintle, a gay man, became an instant and effective quasi-parent for his niece.Though Wintle did not have it easy (nor did Tiffany for that matter), he knew what to do to turn things around for her.All parents having a hard time with their teenage daughters should read this book.If you didn't believe in the concept of "generation gap" before reading "Breakfast With Tiffany," you sure will be convinced once you have finished reading it.

On a personal note, I was delighted to read about New York City (I was raised in nearby Westchester County and also worked and lived in New York City as a young adult) and feel the magic of the place afresh.Wintle proves that, in this case anyway, love is as love does.Very highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Troubled Youth + Gay Uncle= Delightful Reading
Like another reviewer, I don't get much time to read more than papers sent home from school. I have four children so choosing my leisurely reading material can be difficult. When I have the time to read, I want that time to be well spent. "Breakfast With Tiffany" did not dissapoint.

When Edwin Wintle's sister has had enough of her troubled daughter's defiant behavior, she takes him up on his offer to keep Tiffany. From the moment Tiffany arrives in New York, the ride is an exciting one. The story is interesting, the characters are endearing and all parents, homosexual or otherwise.

Reading how "Uncle Eddy" transforms from the loveable, cool Uncle to the parental figure and Tiffany's defiance to such is humorous and understanding why Tiffany acts out makes you sypathetic to the young girl as you root for her to get past it all and live up to the potential she has within herself to be an amazing young woman.

I highly reccomend "Breakfast With Tiffany" to anyone with children or anyone with a heart for that matter. ... Read more

Product Description
Few American artists have undergone such shifts in critical opinion as Louis Comfort Tiffany. Initially as a painter, then as an interior designer and experimenter in the medium of glass, Tiffany attained a position of great status in the arts. However, when America joined the First World War, many critics considered his art shallow and outdated and throughout the ’30s and ’40s, he was generally forgotten. By 1946, his revival had begun with an exhibition held at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York, organized by Edgar Kaufmann Jr, Lillian Nassau and Edward Wormley.

This lovely book, published to accompany the traveling exhibition opening at the Seattle Art Museum in October 2005, showcases 120 objects, illustrating his wide-ranging interests and placing him in context with other significant artists of his time. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful photography but too much Paloma
This book has beautiful photography, above the usual standard for this kind of book. The text was about average, but I didn't buy it for the text.My one criticism is that I agree with another reviewer in that there was too much focus on Paloma Picasso. She undoubtedly created many masterpieces in colored gems, but Tiffany was around quite a long time before she arrived. And I found it odd that there are 5 or 6 full-page photographs of her modelling her jewelry.I'd rather had just seen the pieces themselves without her wearing them!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love that book
As always, John Loring does a smash-up job with his new book on the colored gems of Tiffany. Gorgeous photos, great history and a perfect accompanment to "Tiffany Pearls".
Highly recommended for the jeweler or jewelry fanatic.

I had the wonderful good fortune to find the LAMPS OF TIFFANY at a flea market and I'm delighted to say that I now own a copy of this beautiful book.

There are almost 300 delightful photographs of the lamps made by Louis Comfort Tiffany in this book and 238 of them are in color. Each picture is accompanied by a detailed description of the lamp. There are also chapters devoted to Glass, Lamp Bases, Fixtures, Shades and information about the many other details in these lamps.LAMPS OF TIFFANY allows us to enjoy the beauty of these fantastic works of art while learning something about the components of which they were made.

Since most of us can't afford a true Tiffany lamp, I have to say that many of the gorgeous reproductions that are made today are a tribute to the artistry of Mr. Tiffany.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the "The Tiffany Lamp Bible", Mr. Neustadt is Moses!
I personally used this book as a true reference while recreating Tiffany shades and bases with a well-known Tiffany Repro company in California from 1983 to 1989. I never lost my fascination for the detail and beauty of each piece catalogued in this wonderful book, as well as the invaluable references to glass, bronze and "tag" authenticity. Mr. Neustadt truly loved L.C. Tiffany's work, and the photo overlay process used in the original book gave each shade it's true color and a rich depth. My book was well-loved, and so valuable as a reference at the time that it was unfortunately stolen from me before I had to give my work up to a carpal tunnel injury. I have since wished it would reappear at a lesser price, but the book is truly worth twice it's weight in gold to any Tiffany colorist or devotee. I now satisfy myself with an occaisional "fix" at the churches of Boston and Maine which are graced with the windows I love almost as much. I am glad to know where I might indulge myself in the purchase of this book, as I had thought at one time it was quite hard to find. A truly fantastic guide to the great variety of Tiffany Stvdios shades and bases.

5-0 out of 5 stars Neustadt - The bible of Tiffany Lamps
I have had this book for about a year. As a stained glass lamp hobbyist I find it an invaluable reference and read it often to check on detail (and to find how far I have yet to go with this hobby!). Mr Neustadt points out many of the subtleties in these lamps that are sometimes overlooked. On a related topic, many of the lamps in his possesion can be seen at the NY Historical Society, Central Park, NYC. If you like Tiffany, this book is a must

5-0 out of 5 stars A Complete Resource
Possibly the most complete and authoritative collection of information on Tiffany's lamps, life, and studios in existence.Accurate photographs of nearly every shade in existence as well as the varieties within each design.Thorough discussion of the glass used and its properties, as well as the lampbases that support the works.I know of no other reference for the artist, collector, or lamp fanatic that is as complete. ... This is not a "pattern" book perse... it is more of a guide book to make your own pattern if you want to use this book to create your own stain glass windows- you will have to take this to a place that will blow up the image for you. Also, you are going to have to guess the colors of many of the "patterns" as there is no color guide for many of the pictures in this book.16 color photos are provided and there are 60 pages of designs.Buyer beware and be conscious of your use intended for this book.*Note: I wanted to use this book for gallery glass products and create a window design on my own windows at home. But I had to get the images blown up to size needed to accomplish this.

choices for 16 windows and black and white outlines to enlarge
for stained glass makers. There are 60 pages of patterns with no
commentary as to original sizes, craft tips nor art highlights.

5-0 out of 5 stars Some Reviews are Misleading
This book does contain Tiffany window designs which Tiffany created using Tiffany glass not modern glass. They reproduce very well when scanned. I use them in computer application of the designs. The book which has thepostcards is "Tiffany Stained Glass Windows" by Alastair Duncan(ISBN: 0486253368)which I also bought. This book does have some coloredimages and when combined with the Duncan Postcards you can produce somenice images. Fifteen or sixteen of the postcards are images that are alsoin this book. I would suggest buyers consider getting them both.

4-0 out of 5 stars great projects
If you are into doing windows in the style of Tiffany you need this book...lots of beautiful patterns which can be enlarged at your local copy center. There are color illustrations of many of the patterns which should help in selecting glass but, as usual, the actual glass selection is up toyou. It would be nice if all the glass used was specifically identified(mfgr., cat. no., amount needed, etc.), but hey, then we wouldn't have allthe fun (?) of agonizing over the selection.

2-0 out of 5 stars The colorized images are attractive.
There are 60 designs, with 16 color images on the front and back cover. The line drawings are difficult to determine the color of glass to use. ... Read more

Product Description
Celebrated for his Art Nouveau stained-glass interpretations of birds, insects, fruits and flowers, Louis Comfort Tiffany was the foremost American designer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His enormous influence on his father's famed company, however, has been largely obscured. In this illustrated volume, Tiffany & Co design director John Loring puts into perspective the mutually beneficial bonds between "LCT" and the family firm. The book includes 350 colour images of the jewellery, enamels, blown glass, ceramics, desk accessories and other objets d'art created by LCT during his 16-year tenure as the company's design director, as well as luxury goods produced in his own studios - but in fact financed and retailed by the family company. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful display of Tiffany's work
This book is a wonderful display of Tiffany's "smaller" works -- not only of jewelry (which is the primary focus), but also other objets d'art. It also provides a very informative history of Tiffany's life andhis creative aspirations.I enjoyed reading the book as much as I didlooking at the great pictures. There are so many books out there onTiffany, but if jewelry is your passion (particularly jewelry of the late1800's - early 1900's), this is definitely one to get. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars interesting book
In this day and age, very appropriate, but it was a good story that still has me scared a few years later.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Witty Read
I love this book, it's one of the first chick lits I've read years ago and I would read it again. Tiffany is someone who's clever, witty and definitely a person I would want to be friends with. Definitely pick the book up if you're still in your thirties and love chick lit.

2-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely dreadful; gives chick lit a bad name
I made the mistake of picking this up because it was recommended to those who love the Shopaholic series. Let me be clear, Tiffany Trott is in no way on par with the loveable and hilarious Shopaholic. All British gals are not created equal. Tiffany's narrative was extremely tedious and in no way entertaining. She's whiny and obsessed with finding a long-term boyfriend. The flirting in the book was lame, overdone, and none of the characters managed to endear themselves to me. I'm sorry I wasted my time on this book.

2-0 out of 5 stars Exhausting
By the end of this book, I was thoroughly exhausted with Tiffany Trott. It looked like a fun read, but it took too much effort for it to actually be called "fun."It was more like work reading about the extreme minutae of Tiffany's dating life and quest for Mr. Right, or Mr. All Right.I'm not even sure she was such a great catch herself - she wasn't funny, or very sweet, or endearing in any way.If I were Tiffany, I'd be exhausted with myself. It was just too many darn pages to sift through to find out that Tiffany is happier being single.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heh, Heh!

Determined to land a huge advertising account for his company, Nick gets a LITTLE carried away and tells the potential client he's married, then he has a serious problem--he can't join the client on the ship unless he shows up with the wife he's supposed to be taking on an anniversary cruise.Laney Parks is either in the wrong place at the wrong time, or the right place at the right time-She isn't sure which. She isn't even entirely certain of how she got roped into posing as her hunky boss's wife. She finds it SERIOUSLY unnerving, though, to 'stick to the script' when that includes cuddling up and kissing in public, and even more unnerving to share the close confines of the cabin-and its single bed-with him. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great addition to my Kindle
This book had been sitting in my Kindle for a while and I finally decided to sit down and read it.Honestly, the first few pages weren't my cup-of-tea and I was worried I had made a wrong choice as is so easy to happen in the Kindle universe. However, I am SO glad I decided to stay on for the ride. The action picks up at the airport when Laney Parks, trying to escape her fiancé's betrayal by taking a Caribbean cruise, bumps into her boss Nicolas Sinclair, who's planning his own betrayal of a potential client.Laney and Nicolas pose as husband and wife to woo said client with Nicolas readily reminding Laney to "Stick to the Script."As in all romance universes we know that that is impossible! So what ensues is a steamy tale of two strong personalities fighting to "keep to the script" without getting their heartbroken.

Tiffany Ashley did a wonderful job of weaving dialogue and situations in a way that doesn't border on unbelievable, but instead makes the story flow seamlessly. As you may have read from several other reviewers this book is not for the faint-of-heart as it does include very explicit love scenes, but if you've read anything by Lena Matthews, you're very used to this (and probably love it!).I anxiously await any sequels Ms. Ashley might have in mind for the Sinclairs and kin!

5-0 out of 5 stars HOT!!!!!!
This story was HOT!I haven't given very many 5 star ratings this year and I would give this more if I could.Playboy Nick Sinclair is desperate for a pretend wife to land a huge business deal and along comes Laney Parks who is the opposite of the "cookie cutter" women that Nick is normally with.Laney is more than Nick has bargained for, and he has to struggle with giving up his playboy lifestyle or lose Laney forever. This story had the perfect mix of romance, and I loved the way the book flowed and got right to the point. The author didn't put in a lot of fluff, and the sex scenes were HOT! I'm not a timid person and I want to read hot, steamy, sizzling sex scenes and Tiffany Ashley brought that in this book, plus there were some laugh out loud moments.I love reading interracial romance novels, especially BW/WM but I don't want the issue to become about race but the romance, and this book did that.I paid a little more for my Kindle download than what is listed now but it was definitely worth it.I will be looking for more from this author.

5-0 out of 5 stars loved it from beginning to end
wow what a story it was so complete and flowed so well I hated to see it end. I have to agree with another reviewer, I felt like I should have paid more for it. Now that says a lot. Very hot sex scenes, great chemistry, well thought out plot. perefect story

5-0 out of 5 stars This was worth more than what I paid for.
This book was really good. I have paid a lot more for books and got a lot less. The weird chemistry between the h/h is amazing but it works. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.

books i also like: Tameka's smile, Forever Jade, Adrienne...

5-0 out of 5 stars Romance with a twist!
Laney is a beautiful professional who's life seems to be on track when it comes to her career and love life.Unfortunately, we know that life is never that smooth. She is soon derailed by a cheating fiance and sucked into work melodrama.Tiffany Ashley's LoveScript is a fun read, full of romance, work drama and good chemistry between the characters. The story is engaging and the plot flows smoothly.Plus, Ashley doesn't dwell on the differences society always tries to use to divide.Instead, the focus is on how life and circumstance can throw two people together and the beauty of discovering a fit. LoveScript is interracial love done right.I definitely hope there will be a follow up. ... Read more

Product Description
Everything about twenty year old Serena James made Elray Carter male model extraordinaire want to get to know her better. She's smart, sexy, beautiful and one hell of a street motorcycle racer.

One look at her and he was hooked. It didn't matter that she was from the wrong side of the tracks. No, Serena wasn't like the models and high maintenance woman he usually dated. She cared more about cars and motorcycles than clothes and make up. His money didn't impress her and she didn't have an agenda to rope him into marriage. What a woman and he is determined to have her.

Serena isn't interested in any man, much less an outrageously handsome, rich, arrogant one used to getting everything he wanted. What she wanted was to escape the circumstances of her existence, poverty. Motorcycles were her life. Even more important they provided the means for her to succeed and achieve her goals. Her chance meeting with Elray Carter threatened her resolve because he touched her in a way she never thought possible.

Will Elray prove to be her knight riding in on a Suzuki GSXR 1000, or will he be just another obstacle for her to overcome? ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice story which delt with real issues
I purchased this book thinking it was an IR romance. I had seen it listed at Red Rose Publishing under IR and it seems to be associated with IR romance on Amazon so I guess that was my assumpution. At any rate it is NOT and IR romance but it is a wonderful story about two people falling in love and staying in love through some really difficult situations.

Serena is a tough, street smart biker who has a rocky relationship with her mom and is looking for her absentee dad. She is a street racer with a passion for cars and bikes.
Elray is, I assume a model, based on the jobs he had through out the book. He is a bit of a playboy who has an unbelievably close family.

This book had a lot of twist and turns but just to hit a few highlights, Serana leaves Elray and finds out she's pregnanat. Her mom has a stroke so she returnes back home seeking to be there for her mom and possibley build a better relationship with her. Elray has never forgotten Serana. He has meaningless casual flings untilshe returns and finds she has had his baby. They fall back in love and start truly becoming a family when one of his flings tells him she is pregnant. I won't tell you if it's his or not but the situation was handled in a very real and honest manner.
The couples relationship is tested as they deal with baby momma drama, the introduction of her absentee father and her mothers shady boyfriend.

Although I liked the honesty in this book, I think it dragged on because the author was clearly setting the book up for several sequels which will feature romances for Elrays other siblings. A few things that may get on your nerves with this book are the constant references to Elray's family members visiting each other, staying at each others homes, being with each other, baby sitting each others children etc. His families interations really dominated the story. To a certain degree it was okay but I think it became more of a filler in the book, kind of a way to carry the story from one scene to the other. Their baby rarely slept at home because it was always with a friend, uncle, aunt or grandparent...wish I had that kind of support system :-) Somebody take my child PLEASE!!!!!Also, although Serena is a racer, it was not really as focused on as you might think. Perhaps the author could have switched out biking scenes with family scenes to really show her passion for racing.

At any rate, even with the drawn out family jam sessions and chronic baby sitting switch-a-roos, the story was nice. Elray was totally in love and commited to Serena and vice versa. I enjoyed seeing that type of full devotion.

**It's important to note, I have not read the first book in this series but I did not feel as if that was a hinderance. I will be reading the first book because I think it will be a good story, but it's okay of you don't read them in order.

4-0 out of 5 stars Simply wonderful!
Once again Ms. Parker has delivered a wonderful novel. Elray was some what of a jerk in the first book even if he was just trying to protect her sister. I wasn't sure I'd like him or if he even deserved a story of his own but I absolutely loved him in this book.

The chemistry between him and the female lead Serena really burned up the pages of this novel. I also loved how the author dropped small hints about other possible romances that may develope in future books.

I love forward to reading more of this authors work. She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors! ... Read more

Ariel is beautiful and magical, a creator of dreams and of mischief.

Sprung from the mind of a dazed sailor shipwrecked in the Bermuda Triangle, she rules half of her enchanted isle, dreaming of the savior from the east who will help her conquer all. When Prospero, a lost mariner, appears on the beach, his young daughter, Miranda, in tow, Ariel entices him with her visions of conquest. Together, she promises, they will defeat the mysterious tribe whose drums beat beyond the island's rain forest. The homesick Prospero struggles to resist Ariel's charms, but he almost falls under her spell when Miranda falls in love with their servant, the island boy Caliban. Ariel wants to march west, Prospero wants to sail east, and daughter Miranda wants to play on the beach with her boyfriend. Their clash comes to a head when Ariel, summoning her full powers, creates a cataclysmic storm that will change their lives and the island forever.

3-0 out of 5 stars Retell a clasic in colloquial terms
A retelling of the classic The Tempest with a twist! As the sailor Jasper finally finds an island to land after falling overboard he thinks in his dying breath of a beautiful woman of his dreams, she springs from his head and is made real. She waits on the island for another human to come and give her the power to explore the world around her.

http://dailylitmajor.blogspot.com/2008/09/review-ariel-by-grace-tiffany.html

3-0 out of 5 stars Dreams, Defile, Deception
The first thing you should know about Ariel is that she is a liar, because dreams lie, and she is both dream and maker of dreams. Take that as a warning.
In the Triangle, which is a place of magic, there is a spirit that can see your hopes, desires, and dreams; this spirit's name is Ariel. She was spawned long ago from Jasper, who was a sailor, in 48 A.D. Ariel had been waiting for her champion from the east, to save her from her carpenter ant torture, and help conquer the whole island. When people come to the Triangle though, they do not always listen to Ariel's commands.
I enjoyed this book a lot, and the way it talked about emotions. For example, Ariel illustrated how grief and sadness are not always just on the surface, it is something that is rooted deep within yourself. This book showed raw human feelings, at a level where I could understand them.
I did not like how there where few details about the surroundings in the book. I had to make up a lot of information, like what I thought the setting looked like. Something I think was a bad choice was that Ariel covered hundreds of years rather than just a few. This made reading the book a little more unreal for me, because it is very hard for me to comprehend hundreds of years at the same time.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls, because Ariel has male and female characters. If you do not have much of an imagination though, this is probably not the right book for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars A New Perspective
One of the great things about Shakespeare is that you can put one of his plays in any era and it will fit.One of the great things about Grace Tiffany's books is that she is true to Shakespeare while bringing him to life from a new perspective. As with all her other books, this one made me want to go back and reread the original, in this case The Tempest.Ariel is imaginative, creative, humorous and profound; it's a great read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great characters
The book is described as "young adult" but this not-so-young-adult liked it very much. The author borrowed the story line of Shakespeare's Tempest and added years, events, and characters in and around the play. The author also borrows some of the ways Shakespeare developed his characters.A "witch" is presented as not evil.A "monster" in the eyes of some is revealed as a sympathetic character. Most important is Ariel, a spirit of imagination, who leads people to trouble to the extent that they opt for a world of imagination instead of the world as it is.While the book may be accessible to young adults, its sophisticated treatment of characters gives it layers of meaning best appreciated by those long gone from high school. Its ending, which I will not spoil by revealing, is stunning, and provides much food for thought for anyone concerned with America's history and direction. One warning: those who prefer their spirits to be cuddly Tinkerbell's over spirits capable of malevolence, and those who prefer Disney-sanitized fairy tales over the original Brothers Grimm, might find this book unsettling.

2-0 out of 5 stars The Tempest... in a teapot
One of the only good things to be said about Ariel is that it was a quick read.I'm sorry to report that I did not enjoy the experience.Though the basis was extremely interesting to me (while I have not read The Tempest, I greatly enjoy Shakespeare and tales concerning him and his plays), the execution was amateur.

In the end, I didn't understand the point.I wasn't left with that wonderful sense of awe one is supposed to have upon finishing a book. It all seemed aimless and hasty. The climax could hardly be described as such (so abrupt!).There were no clever plot twists (I wasn't even amused by the allusion at the end). The characters were too inhuman to relate to - I really ended up hating most of them.

On the bright side, I am much more interested in reading The Tempest itself now, for I'd like to see how it compares with this novel. ... Read more
