A lighthearted quick read.
I purchased this book at a time when I couldn't find a book that gave men advice on what to expect during the pregnancy process.
This book was lighthearted - each chapter (about 20-25 pages long, on average) goes into each month of the pregnancy, and there are some funny celebrity quotes and funny stories of the author's life that made me chuckle.The quotes and the stories have a purpose, as they go with each month's "theme"; also, they provide levity to each chapter so that it reads quickly.Also, there are some good points to each chapter, enough to give a general primer of what is happening in each month of the pregnancy.
I've read the book twice (it can be read in 1 or 2 sittings), enjoyed each time I read it, but will be passing it along to other first-time dads, as I don't have much use for it anymore.

Not bad, but, not wonderful
I got this for my husband. Alan Thicke is kind of consistently and gently slamming or joking about women and thier behavior while pregnant. It is humorous most of the time... so I didn't have a problem with it. But, If you're looking for a book that is really educational or filled with knowledge about pregnancy-this isn't it. Like the title says, this book is more about teaching men to cope with thier wives while the are pregnant than it is about pregnancy.

Most entertaining of the expectand dad books!
Funny and informative. Bought this for hubby but of course read it first. Thicke is in great comedic form, lots of interesting facts, and although he has lots of physiological/medical info it's not overwhelming...Also a very quick read- laughed aloud alot and then passed it on to my better half.

Just what the doctor ordered!
After reading so many books that are filled with facts, statistics etc.It was REALLY fun to sit down with a lighthearted book that really made me laugh.I already knew the odds of a pregnant woman over 40 giving birth toa baby with Downs Syndrome, and why it's not OK to drink while you'repregnant.This is not the reason I went to a book by Alan Thicke.If youjust need to be entertained and relate to the stories he tells, buy thisbook!

I thought this book was funny and interesting
I really enjoyed this book. We as woman know what we are feeling those 9 months of pregancy, its nice to see it from a man's point of view.It was fun to compare Alan's experience to that of my husband's. Enjoyable

I found this book entertaining and funny. A good insight on the life of Alan Thicke. The twist he puts on things is great. A must have book.

I'm not alone
It's nice to see Im not alone with these childhood issues. Im recently divorced with 4 older children and 1 that is just 8. So to hear Alan's stories really hit home and helped me while bringing a smile to my face. This book shows just how talented this man is and how funny he can be.

Fun to read
This book was a good follow up to Alan's first one "How Men Have Babies". Im a single mother and I enjoyed the way he told his stories and the humor he put into them. My son is only a little older than Carter and I can relate to the situations he has had with him. This book shows that no matter who you are you still have to deal with the same things with your kids as we all do. It makes you feel better. I recommend this feel good book to everyone. ... One of the Best Unknown Comedians of My Day
Few people know just how funny Alan Thicke truly is, but you will quickly grasp his wit in this book. Alan should ship copies to all the pregnant/mother starlets in Hollywood. Imagine the world with one less tragic Lindsay Lohan-type around?

A fine and highly recommended read

Not Thicke enough!!!
Quick, easy, fun read.With every page I would think "I can relate to that!!"The only disappointment was when I reached the back cover because there was no more to read.Hey Alan how bout vol. 2 ????Highly recommend for a light hearted lift.

I recommend this book, it was a fun light read. The stories that are told are entertaining yet helpful. A book all parents and grandparents can relate to. The writers humor and personality are reflected through out the book. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

After seeing Alan on The Today Show I went out and bought the book. What a delightful read. I loved him on Animal Mircles and I really loved this book.
