A delightful story about Noah's Ark - really!
Although you would never guess it from the title, It's Hard to Hurry When You're a Snail, written by Dorothy M. Stewart, is a story about Noah's ark.

Snail is on his way to the ark and he's in a hurry (as are all the creatures in the story). He meets many different creatures along the way, including a tiger cub, an elephant, and a snake. When they hurry past him, he keeps on going "at a snail's pace," and says, "It's hard to hurry when you're a snail."

He finally makes it to the ark where Noah and the other animals are waiting for him. Snail was worried that Noah might leave without him. But when Snail arrives, Noah says, "We need two of every animal and bird and insect, and we're short of a snail. Every little creature is special to God, and he knew you were on your way."

Snail says to himself, "I'm glad about that. It's hard to hurry when you're a snail."

The delightful, colorful illustrations, by Thomas Taylor, make this an appealing book for children of all ages.

What I Like: Everything.

What I Dislike: Nothing.

Science and Faith--Merging Their Journeys in Genesis
Seventh-day Adventists in the early 1900s were highly influential in establishing the basis for what has evolved into today's "Intelligent Design" concept of creation--a very contemporary issue among educators, parents, and politicians.
