Product Description
Welcome to Los Angeles, birthplace and residence of Tori Spelling.

It’s not every Hollywood starlet whose name greets you on a Virgin Airways flight into la-la land. But Tori Spelling has come to accept that her life is a spectacle. Her name is her brand, and business is booming. Too bad when your job is to be yourself, you can’t exactly take a break.

Tori finally has everything she thought she wanted—a loving family and a successful career—but trying to live a normal life in Hollywood is a little weird. With the irresistible wit, attitude, and humor that fans have come to love, the New York Times bestselling author of sTORI telling and Mommywood is back with more hilarious, heartwarming, and candid stories of juggling work, marriage, motherhood, and reality television cameras.

Tori comes clean about doing her time on jury duty, stalking herself on Twitter, discovering her former 90210 castmates’ "I Hate Tori" club, contracting swine flu, and contacting Farrah Fawcett from the dead. Like many mothers, she struggles to find balance (Stars, they’re just like us!)—only most women don’t have to battle it out with paparazzi at the grocery store. She talks openly about the darker side of life in the spotlight: media scrutiny over her weight and her marriage to Dean McDermott, her controversial relationship with Dean’s ex-wife, and her unfolding reconciliation with her mother.

Having it all isn’t always easy—especially when you’re a perfectionist—but with the help of her unconventional family and friends, an underwear-clad spiritual cleansing or two, and faith in herself, she’s learning to find her happy ending. Because when you’re Tori Spelling, every day brings uncharted terriTORI.***

Just when you thought sTORI time was over, the beloved Hollywood starlet has so much more to say. ***"My life has changed dramatically in the past several years. I married Dean; we moved several times; we had two children; we created a show that has gone into its fifth season on the air. I have love. I have a family. I have a home. I have work. It’s all I ever wished for. But trying to be a perfect wife, mother, and mini-mogul has its challenges, especially if, like me, you want to be perfect at all of them at the same time." —from uncharted terriTORI ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An Enjoyable Read
For all the negative comments written about this book, I have been pleasantly surprised at how interesting it actually is. I've read Tori Spelling's first two books and from some reviews had expected nothing new in THIS one. To the contrary, - - Though I've only read about half of "Unchartered territori" so far, I find nothing redundant. To the contrary, it's held my interest because there is nothing repetitive - nothing I'd read in her earlier books. If you enjoyed reading her first two books, I assume most of readers would find this one interesting and enjoyable also.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good read
I enjoyed this book as well. However reading all three in a row, once I got to this one there was a lot of repeating. I also never watched any of her shows. From what I gather a lot of what is in this book was also in the show.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another gread read!
I loved this book. It's a quick read & I've already handed it down to family waiting to read it. I've read all of Tori's books & enjoyed them! I'm a big fan!

5-0 out of 5 stars A special pick for fans of Tori Spelling, especially audiences who enjoyed her prior books
UNCHARTED TERRITORI will find its place in both film and biography collections, offering her stories of juggling work, family and reality TV alike. From her bout with swine flu to jury duty and trying to balance motherhood with acting requirements, this is a special pick for fans of Tori Spelling, especially audiences who enjoyed her prior books.

5-0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER INTERESTING STORI
I AM NOT A FAN OF HER'S BEYOND I LIKED 90210 AND I HAVE READ HER OTHER TWO BOOKS.....IM 46 YRS OLD....HER SHOW I HAVE WATCHED OCCASIONALLY.....AGAIN TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT...BUT HER BOOKS ARE VERY ENTERTAINING. QUICK READS THAT KEEP THE READER INTERESTED. I AM ALMOST DONE WITH THIS LATEST BOOK....LAUGHED SO HARD AS SHE RECOUNTS HER BOUT WITH H1N1...SHE'S REALLY FUNNY ! THERE IS EVEN A LITTLE BIT OF SENSITIVITY MIXED IN THERE...I WOULD BUY HER NEXT BOOK JUST BASED ON HER TRACK RECORD. I THINK SHE GETS A BAD RAP....KUDOS TO HER FOR REINVENTING HERSELF AND NOT RIDING ON ANYONE'S COATAILS.....THAT MIGHT BE HOW SHE GOT IN TO THE BUSINESS..BUT IT ISN'T WHAT'S SUSTAINED HER. I WILL SAY IT HELPS TO KNOW SOMETHNG ABOUT HER PERSONALITY AND THE WAY SHE SPEAKS....THEN WHEN YOU'RE READING YOU GET HER HUMOR RIGHT AWAY...SHE WAS VEERY FUNNY ON THE REALITY SHOW SHE HAD BEFORE THE DEAN DAYS. ... Product Description

If you thought Tinseltown was tough...

Tori Spelling might have grown up with everything a girl could wish for, but these days she's just another suburban working mom...whose toddler regularly recognizes her in the pages of Us Weekly. Welcome to Mommywood, where the stars are two feet tall and your neighbors know who you are before you move in.

Like most parents, Tori wants her children to have the one thing she didn't have as a kid -- a normal family. On their hit Oxygen reality show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, the starlet and her husband Dean McDermott regularly wrestle dirty diapers, host the neighborhood block party, and tackle temper tantrums on the red carpet. But when the cameras aren't rolling, Tori's still having awkward run-ins with a former 90210 costar at a laser tag birthday party, scooping rogue poo out of the kiddie pool on a resort vacation, and racing to win back her pre-baby body before the media starts calling her fat. For all her suburban fantasies, Tori Spelling is no June Cleaver.

With the same down-to-earth wit that made her entertaining memoir sTORI telling a #1 New York Times bestseller, Tori tells the hilarious and humbling stories of life as a mom in the limelight. From learning to be the kind of parent her own mother never was to revealing what it's like to raise a family while everyone is watching, Mommywood is an irresistible snapshot of celebrity parenthood that you won't get from the paparazzi.

I thought the book was hilarious. It was good enough that I bought the next book too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mommywood
I really enjoyed this book.I have read all of Tori Spelling's books now.The only thing I don't like is:from book to book some information (or stories) are repeated from book to book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Relatable to mom's everywhere
I loved this book. It was full of stories about being a mother. I found Tori Spelling to be oddly relatable. At times you forget who she is and feel like you're reading the book of a friend. There were plenty of Hollywood stories to keep up the glamour, but the best stories were of her just trying to be a good mother and fit in with "normal" people. The stories involving her mother tended to weigh a little heavy. At times you feel like she is going beyond her feeling and just plain criticizing. Other than that, I loved every bit of the book. It's entertaining, funny and very relatable to mom's everywhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars loved it!
I loved reading this book. I am a huge Tori Spelling fan as it is and have read her first book Stori Telling, which was very entertaining, but this book was fun and surprisingly relatable. I recently had my first child and it's so refreshing to know that we moms have the same fears and feelings, whether we're regular working class or living in hollywood! Tori's stories are real and true to life...a great read!

5-0 out of 5 stars great read
All Tori's books are funny, honest, and interesting glimpses into her life from her point of view- from the inside out not the outside in. An easy read you are sorry when it ends. ... Read more

Product Description
She was television's most famous virgin -- and, as Aaron Spelling's daughter, arguably its most famous case of nepotism. Portraying Donna Martin on Beverly Hills, 90210, Tori Spelling became one of the most recognizable young actresses of her generation, with a not-so-private personal life every bit as fascinating as her character's exploits. Yet years later the name Tori Spelling too often closed -- and sometimes slammed -- the same doors it had opened.

sTORI telling is Tori's chance to finally tell her side of the tabloid-worthy life she's led, and she talks about it all: her decadent childhood birthday parties, her nose job, her fairy-tale wedding to the wrong man, her so-called feud with her mother. Tori has already revealed her flair for brilliant, self-effacing satire on her VH1 show So NoTORIous and Oxygen's Tori & Dean: Inn Love, but her memoir goes deeper, into the real life behind the rumors: her complicated relationship with her parents; her struggles as an actress after 90210; her accident-prone love life; and, ultimately, her quest to define herself on her own terms.

From her over-the-top first wedding to finding new love to her much-publicized -- and misunderstood -- "disinheritance," sTORI telling is a juicy, eye-opening, enthralling look at what it really means to be Tori Spelling.Amazon.com Review

The Manor
People are always asking about my parents' mansion, which they called the "Manor," but I don't really spend much time talking about it in sTORI Telling because I didn't grow up there. After demolishing Bing Crosby's former estate in Holmby Hills, a fancy neighborhood in west L.A., they spent six years building the Manor. It's about 46,000 square feet (slightly over an acre) and has 123 rooms. Not that I counted or measured. I got those figures from the press, just like everyone else.

Anyway, we moved in when I was seventeen and I only lived there for two years. In some ways the house is like a normal house, but everything is on a bigger scale. It has four floors: the basement (which we call the "Lower Level," probably because that's its designation on the elevator) and the first, second, and third floors. The first floor has a kitchen, a breakfast room, a dining room, an office, a family room, a living room, and a projection room. There's a grand foyer with sweeping staircases on each side. Oh, and there's also a guards' room and the staff dining room. Everyone except fancy guests comes through the service entrance into a hallway with the guards' room and the kitchen.

The kitchen is gigantic, and my fondest memory of it is from when I was twenty-one and had just moved back in after splitting up with a boyfriend. I came home drunk with some girlfriends, and we pillaged the two double-sized Sub-Zero refrigerators. There was always bulk food in there for the staff. We pulled out a big vat of chicken salad and a tub of peanut dressing, both of which looked like they'd been made for giants. Somewhere in the middle of our feast we decided to have a food fight, and the five of us started flinging food at each other. Soon we were covered in peanut dressing from head to toe and the pristine kitchen was a mess. Then we heard a ding, the elevator doors opened, and there was my mother.

She stared at us in silent disbelief. I said, "We're going to clean it up!" She just said, "Mmm hmm," and left the room. I felt a surge of love for her in that moment. It took us hours to clean the kitchen, but it was worth it. That moment made it feel, for once, like home. --Tori Spelling

5-0 out of 5 stars Daddy's little girl or independent entrepreneur?
In this candid biography, Tori Spelling recounts her most noTORIous experiences including her battle against claims of nepotism throughout her acting career, conflicts with her parents, emotionally abusive relationships, her failures in love...as well as her triumphs, and her struggles with defining herself according to her own terms.Though Tori admits her life was anything but "normal"- fake snow in LA for Christmas- she does relate to the reader on several different levels, allowing us to see that while she may have come from privilege, money does not always buy happiness.

sTORI Telling has a very breezy, carefree narrative and it is as if Tori is merely sitting down with you, divulging some of her most guarded secrets and funniest escapades- including a hilarious episode with a clairvoyant. The book will have you both laughing and crying by the end.In a sense, the reader can see how this work was cathartic for Spelling, especially in her most revealing chapters regarding her infidelity and subsequent divorce to her first husband.

Readers looking for particularly juicy gossip or sordid tales of Tori and her 90210 co-stars will probably not find much amusement with this book.Like any biography, sTORI Telling seldom portrays Spelling in a negative light and she rarely divulges damaging details about her co-stars, friends, and family members. If you are a fan or viewer of her Oxygen show or just love good 'ole Donna Martin, this makes a wonderful "rainy" day, beach, airplane, or vacation book!

5-0 out of 5 stars sTORI Telling
What an gem! A candid, eloquently heartfelt glimpse into the life of Tori Spelling. I wish more celeb-books were like this...instead of anecdotal fluff pieces. Tori lays it all out there~the good...the bad...her triumphs and downfalls. She is honest and openly candid....hello surfer chef debacle...LOL! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cant wait to read the other two. WTG Tori!

4-0 out of 5 stars funny, entertaining, worthwhile.
Best of the three books, Tori is very funny and candid. You feel like you're chatting with your best girlfriend and it is fun. She's an extraordinary girl in extraordinary circumstances.
Tori does come off as very "needy" and seems to be high maintenence in the emotional support department, but what the heck, take the good with the bad and laugh with her. You'll like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read
This book was a fast read and very entertaining.Gave me a different perspective of Tori Spelling and her life growing up.I admire her for wanting to do her own thing and be recognized by what she has done for herself and not what others think has been given to her having the famous Spelling name and father.

5-0 out of 5 stars This was a great book! Kudos Tori
I read this book pretty quickly and I enjoyed it.I could not help but compare her childhood to mine.I found it difficult to feel bad for her because she was raised in such a wealthy home.I was beaten and molested and unloved by more than one step father and had 1 or 2 dresses that I wore everyday as a child. She experienced none of that, so I almost got my violin out. But I guess what we all have in common as people is wanting to feel loved and excepted and hugged by our parents and sadly many of us don't get that from our parents, so in that way we are really alike I guess it doesn't matter how rich or poor you are you want and need that from your folks.Kudo's to Tori for being such a loving mom and trying to change and not to pass on the same stuff as her folks. There is no doubt she is loved but not in the way she wanted.I think our parents way of loving is not what we want for our kids, it may be generational. I enjoyed this book and recommend it, it is a way different life than most of us and very interesting. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Correct Spelling! :)
This book is AMAZING! Well written and the illustrations are BEAUTIFUL! I've read this to my nieces over a dozen times and we've only had it 2 days! A great easy read and the message sent is a universal one that can apply to children and adults alike. Well worth the price! Great job Tori!

4-0 out of 5 stars from Missprint DOT wordpress DOT com
Tallulah is not supposed to get dirty. Or talk loudly. Or make a mess. She isn't that kind of girl. Tallulah can't wear jeans or sneakers to school or keep her hair down or do any of the other things that the other kids do every day.

According to her parents, Tallulah is special and that makes her different. But Tallulah doesn't want to be different. It's hard to have fun or make friends when everyone is busy telling you the things you can do because you're different.

When Max, the new boy in school, stands up for Tallulah (and assists with a risky pug puppy rescue) Tallulah starts to see that sometimes being different can be okay. And most of the time the best of friends like you just the way you are in Presenting . . . Tallulah (September 2010) by Tori Spelling* and Vanessa Brantley Newton.

There are a lot of books about being different learning that it's okay to be yourself even if that might mean being a little silly, or weird, or not mosterly. Some of them are quite bad using cliches and heavy handed writing to convey their message while ultimately creating major issues in the story.

Presenting Tallulah has none of those problems. This was a delightful story about a little girl many kids can relate to. Maybe not everyone goes to school in a limo, but who hasn't been told to be quiet and not get dirty? This story captures that (and Tallulah's rather . . . opulent . . . . lifestyle) without making it a big thing. Tallulah is who she is and, as she learns, that's okay. I liked that instead of beating readers over the head with this message, it's just at the core of the text.

Newton's illustrations are also fantastic. The style is reminiscent of illustrations by Lauren Child (of Charlie and Lola fame) which probably means a similar medium (that I am unequipped to identify) is being used here. It's no secret that Tallulah is based on Tori Spelling. And Newton captures that while combining broad strokes and line work to create intricate illustrations that bring Tallulah's world to life.

Presenting Tallulah is sure to be a fun addition to any story time with simple, short sentences and a well-paced plot. Hopefully this charmer won't be the last to feature Tallulah, Max and Mimi.

*With contributions by Hilary Liftin who is apparently a ghostwriter. I could get into who actually "wrote" the book or the recent number of celebrities putting pen to paper. But I'm not going to because this book deserves better and is more than able to stand on its own with or without is celebrity author.

5-0 out of 5 stars I am surprised this isn't 5 star reviews? Hmm it WAS her first book - remember

Okay - so I actually read this book summer of 2009 - I guess I didn't have quite the enthusiasm that I had with Mommywood to get in here and do a review immediately...but I still give it five stars.
Why?
Well the fact that "I" have even become a Tori Spelling fan is actually, odd. No offense Tori...its an age difference. Its a "life" difference. And I am actually embarrassed to say that - now that I hear myself...writing/saying it.
I am 49 - Tori is 37
(WHICH by the by - I was quite surprised to read that! I actually had to look up her age...or "google" it...after doing my review on Mommywood, I started to wonder with enough curiosity to really spend the time googling someone I dont' even knows age! LOL) A biggie for me!
I actually thought she was around 30-32...but then - I think everyone is around 30 to 31... :)
I wasn't into 90210 - although my son who was like 7 or 8 years old actually learned about the menstruation cycle from Shannon Daughtery and Tori Spelling! I sat down to explain this to him once - and he stopped me midstream (no pun intended) - he told me that he already "knew about periods". I was shocked! Listen, I had already done the sex, birds & bees chat with him - but I hadn't went in too deep (opps another pun? sorry) about - periods. Well, I had my little book from the library with uterus' and cervixs' - and I was all ready to explain menstruation - but my kid says "Mom, I already know about women and their periods" I said and how did you find this out? He said "Brenda on 90210!" - there is more conversation there...but I am sure this is already probably more than enough for most of you ...
So - I wasn't the big 90210 fan - although I have watched some of the reruns on Sunday mornings.
I have to say, I figured Tori was some Hollywood kid...poor lil rich girl...who would not have even one single similarity to my life...I was pleasantly surprised! Now even though I had watched her reality show (by accident actually) I figured the book - well what in the world else could we learn that we had not already gathered from her show? Right?
Wrong - the book is humorous...sad in parts ... inspiring in others...
yeah - can you believe it?
I know - I know for all you other "not so Tori type of people" - I have to say, I felt like I needed to eat my own hat, or eat crow...or something else like that - something you would do when you are so totally wrong about someone.
I wasn't being judgmental about Tori - I just "assumed" ;)
I loved the part where Tori goes to her voodoo psychic (Moma something) ...
I loved how genuine Tori was in admitting some mistakes she made when her dad passed over...
and the mistakes of her first marriage..
in fact - I even loved the first part of the book where she talked about being a youngster
in the home of Candy & Aaron Spelling.
This is a good book.
Not just for 90210 fans - not just for long running Tori fans...
but even for that next generation...
I said this in my review of Mommywood...
I think there is a certain time period in our lives where we don't relate
to someone 10 years younger ... but then there comes a time - I think it may be
when you become a mother - maybe its around the mid 20's to 30's age range...
but there is a time when there isn't this big gap of thoughts and approach.
Maybe...sometimes it doesn't matter the age at all, but you find someone who
just seems to share your thoughts, and the way you handle things..even someone who shares
some of the same mistakes you have made?
Either way - I liked the book - I liked it well enough to get Mommywood...and I will definitely buy her new book uncharted terriTORI- -
and I have to admit - I LIKE the "Tori" name play references in the titles!
I can't wait to see what she comes up with next to keep that name in there!
What about "Tori-ing with Twins" (Is she going to have more babies? You never knowWwww)
Maybe "I went to see Liam in a play at the audiTORIum"?
I am thinking "I got lost on my way to the top - do you have a direTORY?"
I am sure she has already thought of "Toris' EdiTORIals" for a weekly type of thing...
OKay Okay one more - and I will quit...
Scary Stories from the la-bor-a-TORI...with Tori Spelling"
;)
I couldn't resist...it almost feels mandaTORI to make those mentions...
who knows...maybe my review will go down in hisTORI!
(warped sense of humor here ... I know)
Anyway this is a great book - its unexpected ... its refreshing and believe it or not
my fellow 50 year olds...its interesting.

Product Description
She was television's most famous virgin -- and, as Aaron Spelling's daughter, arguably its most famous case of nepotism. Portraying Donna Martin of Beverly Hills 90210, Tori Spelling became one of the most recognizable young actresses of her generation, with a not-so-private personal life every bit as fascinating as her character's exploits. Yet years later the name Tori Spelling too often closed -- and sometimes slammed -- the same doors it had opened.sTORI telling is Tori's chance to finally tell her side of the tabloid-worthy life she's led, and she talks about it all: her decadent childhood birthday parties, her nose job, her fairy-tale wedding to the wrong man, her so-called feud with her mother. From her over-the-top first wedding to finding new love to her much-publicized -- and misunderstood -- "disinheritance," sTORI telling is a juicy, eye-opening, enthralling look at what it really means to be Tori Spelling. ... Product Description
Welcome to Los Angeles, birthplace and residence of Tori Spelling.

It's not every Hollywood starlet whose name greets you on a Virgin Airways flight into la-la land. But Tori Spelling has come to accept that her life is a spectacle. Her name is her brand, and business is booming. Too bad when your job is to be yourself, you can't exactly take a break.

Tori finally has everything she thought she wanted-a loving family and a successful career-but trying to live a normal life in Hollywood is a little weird. With the irresistible wit, attitude, and humor that fans have come to love, the New York Times bestselling author of sTORI Telling and Mommywood is back with more hilarious, heartwarming, and candid stories of juggling work, marriage, motherhood, and reality television cameras.

Tori comes clean about doing her time on jury duty, stalking herself on Twitter, discovering her former 90210 castmates' "I Hate Tori" club, contracting swine flu, and contacting Farrah Fawcett from the dead. Like many mothers, she struggles to find balance (Stars, they're just like us!)-only most women don't have to battle it out with paparazzi at the grocery store. She talks openly about the darker side of life in the spotlight: media scrutiny over her weight and her marriage to Dean McDermott, her controversial relationship with Dean's ex-wife, and her unfolding reconciliation with her mother.

Having it all isn't always easy-especially when you're a perfectionist-but with the help of her unconventional family and friends, an underwear-clad spiritual cleansing or two, and faith in herself, she's learning to find her happy ending. Because when you're Tori Spelling, every day brings uncharted terriTORI. ... Read more
