A great second book
I took up golf recently and for any recent, ahem, addicts, I recommend Learn To Play Golf in a Weekend by Edward Craig. 100% Golf is a great second book.

Without getting into swing planes and geometry and weight shift too much, Leadbetter will help you take your game to the next level. This is a book for the new player who has played a few rounds, knows the basics, and now wants to advance.

Word of warning: Look, really look, at the photos. There are things Leadbetter explains and some he doesn't. Everything is critical. For instance, the grip. It's a fingers thing, not a palm thing. Draw lines on your glove if you have to.

Or subtle changes in hand position. For approach shots the ball is centered in your stance, but your hands are closer to your left knee (for right-hand golfers). As I said, subtle - yet critical.

Spend time with this book. The pictures are clear and simple, the text very readable. This is not something you want breeze through on your way to the next golf book. It's a keeper for sure. 5 stars. ... Read more
