Wish i were in the kitchen with Dinah
This is one of the out-of-print books I replaced after Katrina.She has such a folksy, gossipy style of writing, that you do feel like she's right there.It has turned out to be one of those "go-to" cookbooks, where I check other books' recipes against Dinah's.Both plain and fancy food, and beautiful descriptions. ... A real dish for the Dinah lover in all of us
Every since I was a young buck, I've been obsessed with Dinah Shore, and only briefly fell out of love with her during her time with that scallywag Burt Reynolds.Bruce Cassiday's biography captures the perfect balance of reverence and gossip, worship and dirt, to create a three-dimensional portrait of one of TV's first and most influential women--a lady I like to think of as "Pre-Oprah."I recommend this book to anyone who has loved Dinah like I have, as well as to the younger generation, who are just getting to know her through late-night midsummer re-runs on TV-land and Trio, though believe those have been discontinued.Bravo Bruce Cassiday--continue the good work. ... Found this after 40 years
I first found this book in the late sixties in my local library.I was looking for a potato salad recipe and I liked the one in this book including her comments about the recipe.It was the best potato salad I ever made and for many years I regretted never making a copy for my personal recipe library.Now that I found it, I have made other interesting and unusal takes on basic recipes.This is a book I will hand down to my daughter.It is a pleasant read even if you never try to cook!

good old fashioned cooking
I received the book promptly. It was in excellent condition. The recipes are indicative of the type of family cooking prevalent in the 50s and 60s. I am satisfied with both the book and the service

I use to watch Dinah Shore on TV, and she would have a
cooking segment, and she was wonderful in telling you how
to prepare the food she was making. Watching TV, you
can't ask a question, but, You didn't have a
question, she said everything you needed to know.

Great Cookbook
I bought this at a yard sale when I was about ten. It was my first cookbook and will never part with it. Especially since the recipes are wonderful. They are also easy to follow so what's not to like? This one is a keeper.

Finally found it.
My mom was a big fan of Dinah Shore when she had her show on TV.She used to cook alot on the show and my mom bought the cookbook which my sister hasand I wanted one of my own.Reciepes are great in here especailly the marinated Steak and the stuffed potatoes.Recommended for Y'all! ... Read more

Dinah Shore was born on March 1, 1917, at Winchester, Tennessee. She was named Frances Rose Shore, but changed it to Dinah for entertainment purposes. A name check request was made by the United States Secret Service on March 17, 1961, and in January 1968, on Dinah Shore. Ms. Shore was slated to entertain at the Radio-Television Correspondents' dinner where President Kennedy was scheduled to attend in 1961, and was invited to a White House dinner in 1968. Dinah Shore interviewed Director Clarence Kelly in October of 1975 during the taping of her television program.
