Product Description
So the first time you hear the concept of Halloween when you're a kid, your brain can't even understand it. "What is this? What did you say? Someone's giving out candy? Who's giving out candy? EVERYONE WE KNOW is giving out candy? I gotta be a part of this!"

In his first picture book, comedian and bestselling author Jerry Seinfeld captures on the page his hilarious views on Halloween, from Superman costumes that look like pajamas to the agony of getting bad trick-or-treat candy. Seinfeld's tale resonates with vivid experiences of a night every kid loves.

Both kids and adults will eat up Jerry's distinct and unwritten rules of Halloween. Hamilton King award-winning illustrator, James Bennett's outlandish illustrations perfectly depict these unique observations, reminding us why Jerry Seinfeld is still the funniest man alive.Amazon.com Review
If the only "really clear thought" you had as a kid was "Get candy," you'll be at one with comedian Jerry Seinfeld's first children's picture book, Halloween. This nostalgic view of Halloweens past will ring true with everyone who remembers the trials and tribulations of trick-or-treating--from the stupid masks with thin gray rubber straps and cheap little staples to the humiliation of having to wear a winter coat over your store-bought Superman costume. Of course, the smart-alecky Seinfeld puts his own stamp on things in a voice that is so distinctly his: "Come on lady, let's go! Halloween, doorbells, candy, let's pick it up in there." He wants "name candy" only, make no mistake, and even trick-or-treats with an organizational cabinet on wheels, with drawers labeled "Crunchy Things," "Sour Things," "Rejects," etc. James Bennett's exaggerated, hilarious, expressive illustrations of the young Jerry (yes, it looks exactly like him) suit the over-the-top story to a T. Unusual child's-eye perspectives on parents (and friends up the sidewalk who won't wait up) add energy to a book that is already sugar-charged. Like Jerry's standup routines, Halloween focuses on the minutiae and will make you laugh even if you try to resist. (Ages 6 to adult) --Karin Snelson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very funny
I read this book with my 7 year old grandson. He laughed so hard he got hickups. I give him enough credit to know that this is not meant to be a book about propper behavior....it is humor. The illustrations are great too.

4-0 out of 5 stars A 6 minutes Seinfeld Stand Up Comedy CD with a Bonus Book, Illustrating the Jokes of that Routine
A lot of the people who criticise Halloween by Jerry Seinfeld and James Bennett don't really understand what the product actually is.It's an old track taken from the Telling You For the Last Time stand up tour era where the words have been printed and illustrations added by illustrator James Bennett. It's not a children's picture book written from scratch to appeal to kids. Not that kids won't enjoy it but the big question for whoever you're buying it for is do they like Seinfeld. If the kids in question don't like or have never even watched Seinfeld then maybe you should just buy Halloween for yourself and not use them as an excuse for buying it. Non Seinfeld fans are unlikely to enjoy what is basically an expansion of the intro stand up routine on one of the earlier Seinfeld TV show episodes.

Halloween is basically a chance for fans to relive the Seinfeld days or if they were lucky enough to see Jerry doing a stand up show to relive that. It is also a chance to reminisce of what Halloween was like for those North Americans around Jerry's age when they were kids. Of course this element probably isn't going to be that interesting or relevant to kids today who didn't live that back then or who aren't from North America. So the majority of those who will enjoy this will no doubt be adults however if your kids also love Seinfeld they'll like it too.

The text does work better as a stand up routine done in the style of the way Jerry Seinfeld speaks, which is why if you've got the choice you should get the version which comes with the CD of him performing the act.Just reading the book or expecting your kid to do so in a normal reading way doesn't work at all.

Are there better Seinfeld standup routines than Halloween they could have done this way? Yes no doubt, and hopefully we'll see more in the future.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for kids under 12
I bought this book for my kids thinking - they love Halloween, they love being read to and I love Seinfeld - so I thought - perfect combination. My kids (6 and 7) didn't get most of the jokes and I hated having to read the bad examples, like the parts where he throws the peanut candy at the old lady and eats all his candy in one night. The story is pretty choppy, and not that funny, even when you do get the jokes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hysterical!
This book says it all. The art is great and his experiences are those that we all had, as children. This makes me want to go back to Trick-or-Treating.

5-0 out of 5 stars My two boys love this book and CD!
I just bought this book for my two boys ages 5 and 9. They can't stop playing the cd that narrates the book. They love the book on it's own as well. They think it's hilarious as do my husband and I. I think it's a hilarious take on ones experience of my families favorite holiday, HALLOWEEN!!

Seinfeld. For more than 33 million viewers, the Emmy Award-winning television show has become a Thursday night ritual. Even though the show has ended,Jerry Seinfeld's distinct brand of humor can still be yours.

In his #1 New York Times bestselling book, SeinLanguage, Jerry Seinfeld has captured on the page his views on topics ranging from Raisinettes to relationships, from childhood to cop shows, and from parents to power suits. This must-have book for all fans—and who isn't a fan?—remains available in both paperback and hardcover.

From the Paperback edition.Amazon.com Review
Seinlanguage could easily be subtitled The WorldAccording to Jerry. First published in 1993, when Seinfeldthe sitcom was establishing itself as the funniest half-hour ontelevision, this is a collection of Jerry's musings on everything fromrelationships to shushing in movie theatres. Observational comedy mayhave reached epidemic proportions recently, but Jerry Seinfeld was,and is, the master of his domain.

"I will never understand why they cook on TV. I can't smellit. Can't eat it. Can't taste it. The end of the show they hold it upto the camera, 'Well, here it is. You can't have any. Thanks forwatching. Goodbye.'"

Eons hence, scholars may ponder the mysteries of this book in the sameway that they now ponder the fragments of Heraclitus. Until then,Seinlanguage will continue to provide guaranteed chuckles in aneat and tidy package. Kind of like Jerry himself. --SimonLeake ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Jerry's anecdotal observations in one book!
If you're a fan of Seinfeld's show, this is a must have for your library. As I read through this book, I could picture the episodes of his show.
The book is full of anecdotes and his simple observations about everything from food to sex. This book is not anautobiography, but just a book about what Jerry has been thinking for most of his life.
It's not only funny, it's an insightful look into the mind of the comic genius. Well done.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic sense of humor of Jerry Seinfeld
The ideas written by Jerry Seinfeld are the same that those he developed in his famous series. But I enjoy very much to have all those ideas together and I think that fans of Jerry will also enjoy very much his "Seinlanguage".

2-0 out of 5 stars close to being a rip-off
If you're enough a fan of Seinfeld to be looking at this, you're not gonna get something you haven't seen before.

This book is nothing more than the transcripts of virtually all the stand-up segments from the Seinfeld show, so you've probably heard all the jokes. There's no new material. It seems like somebody just got some production assistant somewhere to transcribe all the stand-up stuff and then sent it off to the printers as a way of churning out even more money for Seinfeld & Co.

If that isn't bad enough, Seinfeld seems a lot more witty and insightful in person than in print. When his jokes are written down, they seem crude and whiny.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not too bad!
I absolutely love the 'Seinfeld' series, and when I found this book at a local thrift store for under $5, I totally had to snag it! The book is quite funny, but after seeing practically every episode of 'Seinfeld' at least two or three times, many of the jokes in the book that relate to this, seemed a little redundant. Of course though, bear in mind that this book was probably published at least 15 years ago, and of course too, the 'Seinfeld' series ended almost 12 years ago, so that makes sense to see a lot of the jokes and what not used in the series. Great book, and truly an interesting, comedic read! I saw Jerry back in Denver a few years ago, and it was truly awesome! Buy this book if you want to laugh and learn!

2-0 out of 5 stars WHAAAAT is the DEEEEEAL with this BOOOOOOK? It's a book about NOTHIIIING!
Found a used copy of this, many years after the fact, and thought I'd give it a try. I've never been a fan of Seinfeld the comedian or "Seinfeld" the sitcom, although I've at least started to grudgingly admit that he can be funny sometimes...maybe by accident.
The few laughs I got from this book seemed to be accidental, anyway..but there were still enough to rate two stars...just barely!

As Seinfeld might have observed, 'It's like the jokes were invited to a party for all the other funny jokes, but the not-funny jokes crashed the party. You could almost imagine a guy at the door saying, 'OK, one-liners over there, riddles, this way, shaggy-dog stories, yeah, come on in, you're good...vaguely humorous observations? I don't see you on my list...''
Classic example of a guy who already had more than enough money trying to cash in even more.

Product Description
He's back: the curse of customer service departments everywhere--Ted L. Nancy, letter writer extraordinaire whose imbecilic queries have a way of eliciting equally idiotic answers from some of the world’s biggest companies and dignitaries.

From the bestselling author of Letters from a Nut comes the latest collection of seemingly serious but crazed correspondence. All New Letters from a Nut includes more than 200 letters, from bizarre to outright loony requests and compliments written by Mr. Nancy to Icelandic malls, German theme parks, shoe museums, foreign presidents, commode companies, waffle cone businesses, and the Hotel Del Fino in Greece along with their equally sincere but hilarious responses.

With his previous books, Ted L. Nancy distinguished himself as America's favorite postal humorist. This latest compilation highlights his comic status through letters to an upscale Amsterdam hotel requesting a room for his 300 hamsters and him to put on his play HAMSTERDAM; to Vons Supermarkets complaining that their Diet Black Cherry soda is sending him paranormal messages; to Armour Meats seeking a 59-foot piece of bologna and a note to the City of Glendale, California, asking for help in starting his new comedy club, THE JOKESTRAP; and many more….

Throughout Ted L. Nancy demonstrates his genius for convincing people his absurd queries are dead serious, demonstrated by the responses he receives.
All New Letters From a Nut is unabashedly silly, unapologetically sophomoric, and 100% funny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beyond the Funny Bone
I laughed so hard, I had to stop several times to keep my kishkes from coming up. As I dried my tears flowing freely from my ducts, I took a break after several letters to compose myself. This guy is a brilliant comedy writer!! I don't know what is funnier...The actual rediculous requests made by Ted L. Nancy or the absolutely corporate mind set that feel compelled to answer him! I guess you need both! If you have never read these letters then you are missing one of the best exposes of corporate PR people who will go to any length to keep the customer happy.

I guess, even they have their limits...LOL!!

5-0 out of 5 stars NUTTY IS RIGHT!
I read this book on a plane.People were looking at me laughing out loud.I seriously had to put it away a few times as it became uncomfortable with others looking at me like I was a hyena.Ted L. Nancy is a wonderful writer!I love his weirdness.I would recommend this book to anyone who loves clean humor. It's nice that someone can write funny today without using vulgarities. ... Read more

"Sorry, there's no way we can use this."
- Plumpers Magazine

"As a word of advice, it always helps for writers to be familiar with the publications they submit material to."
- Fencers Quarterly Magazine

Ed writes short stories. He's prolific. And desperate to get published. But he sends his stories to the wrong magazines. As for the magazines?Well, they don't mind telling him so:

"Dear Ed: I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry..."

"Dear Ed: Thank you for your recent submission to Steamboat Magazine; it was wonderful to hear how much our magazine has touched you..."

"Dear Ed: We do not publish stories about individuals like Conugal Cal, or about underwear-no matter how often references are made to fencing."

"Dear Mr. Broth: Thank you for providing the editors with an opportunity to review your manuscript, 'Luau Lester'..."

"Dear Mr. Broth: Thank you for the opportunity to review your article, 'My Car Ride with Daddy,' for possible publication in Mushing..."

With this book, Ed Broth finally sees his work published. His "Stories of Hope & Inspiration" and his "Stories of Meaning & Sacrament" plus his passionate pitches to place his writing in our nation's premier publications-from Pest Control Magazine to Arthritis Today-are all to be found in the book you hold in your hands.

Some might have advised Ed not to send his story "I Love Dogs" to I Love Cats Magazine or to stop submitting revised stories to editors who have already turned them down. But, well, that's just not the way Ed's mind works.Studded like a rich cranberry strudel with nuggets of genius -from cartoons and advertisements to actual newspaper articles from across the country - Stories From a Moron is an addictive journey into the mind of a great talent.
Amazon.com Review
Book Description
Ed is an aspiring writer. He really wants to be published. But Ed Broth's problem is that he writes short pieces and send them in to the wrong places. For example, Ed writes a story about his clothesline and then... sends it to Fencing Quarterly. When the editor writes back explaining that his magazine is about fencing rather than clotheslines, Ed does what any ambitious writer would do: he revises. And then resubmits his story--now containing hilariously ham-handed additions about fencing--to the same editor. Stories From A Moron collects not only Ed's work but the letters between Ed and the beleaguered editors of the publications he submits to. It's nutty humour at its deadpan best.

"Welcome to the world of Ed Broth. I think we can all use a warm clear liquid with a faintly chickeny smell right about now." --Jerry Seinfeld ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY BIG TIME FUNNY!!!!
Wow!This is like the craziest book I have ever read.It is that FUNNY! These are truly stories from a moron.I love Ed Broth!Whoever he is.

He just keeps adding revisions to his already ridiculous story so that it becomes some weird mutant concoction that a magazine editor has no use for.Yet they patiently try and explain that to him.But Ed just keeps going on.Got a story about dirty laundry, sending it to a steamboat cruise company? They say it's not right for them. They're about fun old tyme cruises.Ed adds some steam boating, banjo playing, and good time Mark Twain fun to his dirty laundry story and re-sends it back to the Steamboat Magazine. They patiently explain it's now even more wrong for their readers.Ed then sends that mess to an Exterminator Magazine. They write him back & say they're a magazine that goes to exterminators and their readers want bug spray info, not steam boating or dirty laundry.Ed adds some exterminating and bug squishing to the story and resends it to the Exterminator Magazine. And so on and so on...

This is a hilarious exchange of stories and letters back and forth between smaller magazines and a moron.A true comedy gem.Who is Ed Broth? This book is sensational!

5-0 out of 5 stars Hysterical
The best thing about it is the stories inetrtwine. You'll be reading one, not sure if the guy is totally on drugs, and a few chapters later something will come up that causes tears to well up from laughter.

A perscription to cure depression and bad moods.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Bit Of A Letdown
When I ordered "Stories From A Moron", I was very excited because I've enjoyed the Letters from a Nut series so much. I expected a similar experience. While the book is not a total loss, I did not feel like it lived up to the Letters series of books.

The premise of the book is that Ed Broth is crafting these silly stories and sending them in for review by publishers. The book is composed of the stories and the exchanges sent back and forth regarding the stories. It's a humorous premise but the execution was lacking. The stories are short, rarely more than 2 pages, but they, as you work through the book, become a bore to work through. It seemed like every story had the same set of themes. So, each new story that is presented is like re-reading the same thing over again. This goes on throughout the book. Of course, one can skim the stories and just read the replies. Sadly, the replies received are rarely more than just form letters. Editors probably receive plenty of terrible stories like the ones in this book all the time and so few bother to respond with a personal remark.

So that left me with the fact that I was reading these terrible stories and the payoff of a humorous response never came from the editor. In contrast, Letters from a Nut works because Seinfeld is writing to customer service depts that have to deal with each request separately. In this book, he's just sending the same question [Will you publish this?] over and over again. The response is always going to be no so there's nothing to really laugh about in the responses.

There are a few bits in the book that made me laugh and at the bargain price I got it for from Amazon, I'm not terribly upset with the book, I would have just preferred another volume in the Letters series.

sincerely,
R.C.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not up to Par
Having read the Letters from a Nut series, I was excited to see this title. After reading though, the main problem is the length of the stories. The letters were just the right length to get in some absurdiy, then let the targets reply. In this book, the Stories drag on forever, with people regurgitating things, men trying to kiss the male narrator, his girlfriend and chihuahua sharing a name, leading to reader boredom. Halfway through, I started thumbing for the replies.

5-0 out of 5 stars I laughed so hard I couldn't breath

Product Description

Who is Ted L. Nancy?
He's a concerned hotel guest searching for a lost tooth...

He's a superstitious Vegas high-roller who wants to gamble at a casino in his lucky shrimp outfit...

He's the genius inventor of "Six Day Underwear"...

He's a demanding dramatist seeking an audience for his play about his 26-year-old dog, Cinnamon...

He's the proud owner of Charles, a 36-year-old cat who owes his longevity to a pet food company...

He's a loyal fan of the King of Tonga...

He is, in reality, a twisted prankster -- a supremely off-kilter alter ego who sends patently ridiculous letters and queries to (and receives surprisingly earnest responses back from) corporate honchos, entertainment conglomerates, national publications, politicians, celebrities and heads of state to everyone, in fact, from the president of the Bon Ami Cleanser Company to U.S. Vice President Al Gore.

Letters From A Nut is an insanely inspired, truly madcap collection of Nancy correspondence, a laugh-out-loud-in-public-places aggregation of official -- and officially certifiable -- requests, complaints, fan mail and questions that could not possibly have been taken seriously...but, amazingly, were!

Dear Mr. Nancy:"It is not often that we receive such enthusiastic support for the paper bag." --The Paper Bag Council

"On behalf of Greyhound, there should be no problem traveling while in your butter costume." --Greyhound Bus Lines

"I look forward to working with you to create a better future for this great nation." -- Vice President Al Gore

"An unending stream of some of the most hilarious exchanges I've ever read. Everyone I lent this book to just read it and laughed out loud like I did. It's so simple, yet totally inventive. I'm sure some sort of mail fraud charges could be brought to stop this man but, personally, I hope they never catch him." --Jerry Seinfeld

What if you wrote to the Baseball Hall of Fame offering to donate a full set of Mickey Mantle's toenail clippings? Why, they'd be glad to have 'em--even if you are "a Level 4 bed-wetter."Cooperstown is only one of many institutions terrorized in Letters from a Nut, a collection of crazed correspondence by Ted L. Nancy. The name is a pseudonym, perhaps for Jerry Seinfeld, who wrote the introduction. Seinfeld never comes clean, but the yocks sure sound like his material. And the letters have his prints all over them--who else would write the L.A. Lakers posing as a rabid fan who wears pants with a see-through back end, "for medical reasons"?Whoever wrote it, the book's a real lark. Where else can you meet "Pip, the Mighty Squeak," a man who gambles in a giant shrimp costume, or a corn that looks like Shelley Fabares? Only inside the fevered brain of Ted L. Nancy--whether he's Jerry Seinfeld or not. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars . Love the book.
This is a book that you talk about weeks after you have read it. It's one that you can pick up and read for a quick laugh. Even our 12 year old granddaughter was enjoying some of the stories.

2-0 out of 5 stars credit where credit is due
Why does the author give NO credit to Don Novello's"Laszlo Latters" from more than 20 years ago? It is the exact same concept, but Seinfeld and author act like it's original. It's not.

5-0 out of 5 stars a fast and fun read.
A very enjoyable collection of letters and responses.I'm amazed at the mental frame of mind required to even think of sending letters like this, and still more amused by the deadpan and serious responses that were obtained in many cases.Only one reply obviously got that a joke was intended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Laugh In Years
This is one of the funniest books I have ever read. Ilaughed out loud throughout the entire book. The author is dry and brillant. This Nancy (If in fact he is not Jerry) is hilarious. The best tongue and cheek work I have ever seen.My favorite letter was about the shrimp costume.I tried to tell people about this letter and could not get through the letter without laughing. There is a copy on the bedside table of my guest room.I always check for it when people leave.

5-0 out of 5 stars Forget emails...old fashioned letter writing could only do this!
Along time ago, when I was about 13 or so, I wrote a letter to a very well known shampoo company about their product. The letter was on three-ring notebook paper, and I asked with concern if the rumor I was hearing around school, that their product which claimed to seal split ends, actually made one's hair fall out, was true. I was using their product and I was genuinely worried! I got a very nice letter back assuring me the rumor was nonsense, along with a big box of shampoo and other products made by the company. From that moment on, I understood the power of a sincere letter! Well, Ted Nancy takes letter writing to a new and hysterical level. With straight-faced sincerity, he composes the most insane letters to the giants of business. Their responses to his over the top inquiries, comments and statements are fascinating. This book had me splitting sides with laughter, but it also reveals the inner workings of customer service. I can't imagine what these companies and their managers thought when they got one of Ted Nancy's letters...but for the most part, they answered them with diplomacy befitting their corporate station. The juxtaposition of their formality and his insanity is what makes this compilation tick. This is not heavy reading, but if you want a good reason to laugh, read Ted's letters. He is truly a delightful nut! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This Book is Sponge-Worthy
I was pleasantly surprised by how interesting this book was.The author has a very conversational tone, and the writing flows as smoothly as a cool Junior Mint down the gullet. The book gives most of its time to Jerry, but each of the other three co-stars gets their own chapter as well.Larry David is the focus of much of the book as well, and you'll learn a lot about how the series came about.

The episode guide is good, and the book should be in the house of any serious Seinfeld fan.

Is a serious Seinfeld fan an oxymoron?

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book
As a Seinfeld geek, I found this book to be very informative. I'm not much of a reader (since I have a tv, lol), but this book kept my interest quite well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent, Covers the Entire Seinfeld Need to Know Domain!
This is not so much an autobiography on Jerry, but more on the Seinfeld show.Everyone from Jerry, Larry David as well as the other cast member's backgrounds are included as well as how the show was pitched to NBC and the hurdles that had to be overcome before it was a success.

There are a few colour photographs in the middle as well as an index at the back. Each year of the show has a commentary of what happened both on the show and behind the scenes and how the fans reacted. Also what was going on in the star's lives at the time. A summary of each episode, who was in it, directed it and so on is also in the back of the book. Also talks about his previous book Sein Language and CD Telling You for the Last Time.

This is a must for anyone who enjoyed one of the funniest and best shows ever made.

5-0 out of 5 stars The book that finally explains it!
Books about the show Seinfeld and Jerry Seinfeld have become something of a major industry in the United States since the show leap-frogged from it's cult status into a bigtime ratings hit. A lot of these books recounted episodes, offered bios of the actors and had lots of information about Seinfeld's private life. What was MISSING? A book that had a lot of this information but also put it into a comedic context -- into the context of who Jerry Seinfeld was, who he is and how and why his series had such innovative humor...humor that would define a generation. This book truly explains it. It's clear that Seinfeld and his collaborator Larry David had a concept for the anti-sitcom sitcom. They were willing for it never to be aired, rather than compromise on it. They did add cast members if the network wanted...but there was no "hugging" and topics were unusual and even the comic payoffs were different than on other shows. They weren't trying to be cutting edge, they were trying to execute their creative idea with integrity. They truly didn't compromise and that's why the series remains so unusual and consistently funny to this day. Stylistically, this is a good sized book but a very quick read due to the easy writing style. Quotes are used very skillully throughout. Of all the books I've read on Jerry Seinfeld and the show, this is the best...because it explains why this show is among television comedy's best.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for a Seinfeld fan
This book allocated sufficient chapters to cover issues that we needed & wanted to know about Seinfeld, the person & Seinfeld, the show. It's interesting to read about the backgrounds & humble beginnings of the 'family' members of Seinfeld mainly Larry David, Michael Richards, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis Dreyfus.I was most interested to read how the team came up with the storylines for a show about nothing, of how they came out with characters such as George, Kramer, & Elaine (life imitated art, literally). We also read about how desperate NBC was to retain the Seinfeld team for more seasons towards the end, the pay rise negotations which sparked other actors & actresses from other NBC projects to follow suits, Jerry's romance with Shosanna, & so forth. The ending of the book stated that whilst Jerry was the king of his domain, his life remained a void...which would stay corrected considering that he has since married. Not to be missed. An exciting & user friendly read. ... This was one of the best books I have recieved, it is a very good book for seinfeld lovers of all ages! Highly recommended

5-0 out of 5 stars SEINFELD'S COMEDIC INSPIRATION
Yes, Seinfeld is always funny. Here's what he said about his comedic inspiration:"[Lois Nettleton] was married to Jean Shepherd. He's the guy who invented talk radio and really formed my entire comedic sensibility.Yes.I learned how to do comedy from Jean Shepherd." He said this in his commentary for "The Gymnast" episode on the sitcom's DVD set, sixth season.Who is Jean Shepherd?See the book EXCELSIOR, YOU FATHEAD! THE ART AND ENIGMA OF JEAN SHEPHERD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heh... Did I say...
What the hell am I saying? THIS IS A GOOD BOOK. This will be great along when season one of seinfeld comes out. This show is no drama, is no soap opera, has no continuous story. I mean seinfeld, you don't have to watch other episodes to get the others. This is the best if not the best or only script out there. Mothers "Eat your vegetables and don't forget the lima beans!" Isn't laughter the best medicine? Seinfeld twice a day keeps the drugs and medicine away. ( not serious, if you experience any symtonms for anything, consult your doctor, and don't run to your t.v. )

1-0 out of 5 stars the annoying stuff
this isn't not worth buying or even staring at. i mean if you read it you might be thinking right now...why do people even bother read these reviews this is a horrible book imma watch tv! i defenetly recomend throwing this book away i don't even know why they made it a book.this is the worstest thin i have ever read. i have seen the show and it's ok...only when it ends i can't beleive people actually like this stuff.

5-0 out of 5 stars whats the deal with airline peanuts??????
Seinfeld is one of the funniest sitcoms ever. (Next to married with children)This show shows that life is really about nothing. You wake up in the morning and you go to work, you wake up and go to work. But it does prove,....$H!* happens. This shows funny, but it doesn't get funnier till the later episodes. But this stuff is still funny. You need to buy this. You laugh your @$$ off. It's not that much either, Jerry seinfeld, he so crazeh. They should come out with the other seasons and the DVD. They better come out soon (cause if they don't) ill be.....be very angry. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent joke book!
My family and I enjoyed reading the jokes in this book aloud and we all guffawed at them.

5-0 out of 5 stars It is SO funny
I read through it the first time and thought it was funny--but after reading it again and again, I laugh even more.Having grown up in New York and worked for and known many Jewish people, I have a mental picture of them saying these very same things.I told my brother I would send it to him when I finished reading it, but I'm keeping it and will probably buy another one for him.Catherine Seitz

4-0 out of 5 stars Four Dreidels (out of five)
The book itself didn't make much sense, but anything that mentions Barbra Streisand is Kosher with me.I actually peed all over myself (twice). Hysterical I tell you.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Grew Up with This!
This is funny stuff. I grew up with this and its good to see this stuff in print. It's great reading. It's a real goof when you've got your head in this book laughing it off and you know you are getting some strange looks. This I've got to laugh twice at!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what I, a big Seinfeld fan, was looking for
This book is mostly imagery--photography--with "commentary" by the cast. At the same time, for the more intellectual/reader-type Seinfeld fan, the sentences beside each photograph are extremely interesting and usually funny too. These commentaries are by the 4 main members of the cast.If there is anything bad said about this book, it must only be because the rater expected more text or something. The photographs are excellent--they tell enough themselves.
After reading this book, the re-runs won't be the same to me again. (in a great way!)

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!
This book is truly moving in the way it presents the lasts days of one of the most remembered sitcoms in television history. With its stunning photos (black and white) and riveting commentary this is a must for all Seinfeldians.

5-0 out of 5 stars Seinfeld
Mr James N Simpson, you do not seem to be a very good Seinfeld fan. It is a well known fact that the finale was only one whole episode, which aired for a 60 minute time slot. The re-runs are the ones split up into two sections. Obviously you only had a chance to watch re-runs and none of the original airings.
I suggest you do not claim yourself a true Seinfeld Fan as you don't seem to get the facts straight.

4-0 out of 5 stars Behind the Scenes
This book takes the reader behind the scenes of Seinfeld's final two episodes. There's heaps of one line or paragraph interviews from each of the four main stars throughout this book. Most of the book will have a black and white photograph on one page with one paragraph on the opposite page.

You don't learn a great deal that you haven't heard elsewhere, but there are lots of photographs of the set and of the cast that you won't have seen before. The only downside is that all the photographs are black and white and none are colour and that there isn't more information.

I would actually recommend Jerry Seinfeld the Entire Domain instead of this book as it has a lot more information.

Since the final episodes are never shown as a one hour episode any more this book does cover both of the final two episodes.I realise the final episode was a one day special in the USA but not everyone lived in America and saw the two episodes as one when they were aired and a lot of people do enjoy watching them over and over again as the two.The book itself mentions they are two now as well.Either way if you are talking about one episode or two episodes it is the same episode and that is what this book is about.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you are a Seinfeld fan... this is a MUST!
This is a great book... wonderful pictures! From "Hello Newman!" to watching Kramer run into Jerry's apartment, but from KRAMER'S side... These are all execellent pictures and excellent moments. Each of the cast members ideas and thoughts about the serious. Plus, you get pictures of EVERYONE, even Babu, Soup Nazi, Mr. Pit, the Constanzas, the Susan's parents, and many more... ... Read more

Product Description
If you think you know Jerry Seinfeld from his show, think again.

Because of a carefully honed publicity machine, and through savvy marketing, millions of rabid Seinfeld fans are convinced that the TV Jerry and the real-life Jerry are one and the same. But that's not the case.

From the time Jerry was a lonely, bashful, introverted kid hiding out in his blue plaid-wallpapered bedroom in his parents' modest house on Long Island in the 1960s, he had an unlikely dream: To become one of America's best-known and most popular standup comics ever. Home alone, he watched his comedic idols on a small, fuzzied-image black-and-white TV, or listened to them on his scratchy portable hi-fi -- Abbott and Costello, Bill Cosby, among others.

Seinfeld: The Making of an American Icon is the never-before-told story of how Jerry made his dream come true -- of how this very ambitious, extremely driven, compulsively perfectionistic son of a Jewish sign peddler who once hustled bogus holy water from Lourdes carefully worked his way up through the knock-down-drag-out world of stand-up comedy as it began to explode in the mid-1970s, and how he went on to cocreate in the late 80s what is considered to be the most brilliant and successful must-see TV sitcom in the history of the medium.

From the start, Jerry has been extremely private about all aspects of his personal life. But now this very complex and enigmatic funnyman is revealed, sometimes as loving, compassionate, and sensitive, other times as dark and steely. But always fascinating.

For more than a year, bestselling investigative biographer Jerry Oppenheimer conducted in-depth interviews with scores of Jerry's closest friends, family members, business associates, lovers, and fellow comedians who spoke candidly and on the record for the first time, painting a riveting portrait of the beloved and talented comedian.

This is a book about Seinfeld the man, not Seinfeld the show. It also is a sweeping look at the very serious, often degrading big-money world of standup comedy and network TV, where some die and others, like Jerry Seinfeld, become royalty. Seinfeld: The Making of an American Icon is no laughing matter.

2-0 out of 5 stars Heavy-handed
It seems obvious that Mr. Oppenheimer is no Seinfeld fan. Facts and blatant innuendo are merged into a less than flattering portrait.

1-0 out of 5 stars Irritating and Insipid
What was the point of this biography, why was it written and why would anyone feel the need to read this book? The last question is obvious, Seinfeld could be called the greatest entertainer of our generation. What i found ironic about this book was the fact that Seinfeld put so much time and effort into his career, and it appears as if the author of this book did no more than conduct three or four brief interviews, and thype sienfeld into a lexus nexus database. What i found irritating about the biography is how the author mention the quotidian nature of seinfelds love life, and then he writes and entire book about his dull and unremarkable lovelife. I dont understand why he chose seinfeld as a subject.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cynical View of Seinfeld makes him look good
Oppenheimer takes a very cynical and negative view on Jerry and hislifestyle but through all of it Jerry just seems to shine through and show how much of a driven and goal-oriented and aloof person Jerry really is.Overall this book gives you insight into who Seinfeld really was.It tries not to talk too much about the show, which is good. You get to know Jerry's childhood, college, and stand-up friends. The author gets many insights from people close to Jerry, but one thing that he never gets is any insight from Larry David or anybody else involved with the show. Not talking about the show is one thing, but those people saw him everyday for nine years, yet they're not included.A very insightful read, if not too specific (A whole chapter is devoted to Jessica Sklar and her growing up and moving and her childhood friends).

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring
What a boring read. For a story about a man who made his name largely from the show Seinfeld there were only 82 pages(out of 362)and 8 chapters(out of 41)related to the show. The rest was a boring soap opera about his relationships and lack of commitment in those relationships. All the information was gathered through anecdotes, largely from people Jerry had crossed in some way so they were generally not complimentary. I found the last few chapters particularly tedious telling the stories of the leaked Vanity Fair article and the "theft" of his future wife. I realise a biography needs to tell about the person outside of what has made them famous but this was over the top in that area and gave me almost no behind the scenes information about the show that most of the world loved.

2-0 out of 5 stars disappointment
The only reason I gave this book 2 stars is that it is about Jerry. I took it from the library because I'm a huge fan and was interested in learning more about how he came to where he is now - what I found instead were tedious details (not in a good way) from acquaintances and not much soul to the book. The book also doesn't seem to give credit to the amazingly hilarious Larry David, who is responsible for so much writing on the show. How can someone write an entire book about Seinfeld without once even speaking directly to the person you're writing about? This missing link was definitely a huge gap in the book, leaving only mundane details and a want for something authentic from Seinfeld himself. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Light Comedy at its best
I am not a huge fan of the Seinfeld shows, but I have seen quite a few. This tape does the trick of bringing his light-hearted comedy to a whole new segment. There will still be people who would not give this 5 stars because they dont take light comedy to be what it is..."light comedy". This one is short enough to keep you asking for more and not extremely hilarious to get you off your seat with a belly pain. I think we got quite a few chuckles out of all the tracks on this one. It will probably be a classic as Seinfeld stopped doing shows around the same time. Its a best buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars great stuff
this is the funniest thing i have ever heard.seinfeld is hilarious.he speaks the truth, and he still makes everything sound so funny.if the cd, of the same name, is anything like this then it should sell real well. this is great.and only $9.58.you should definitly check this one out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hopefully It's Not the Last Time
Here is a terrific book.Jerry touches subjects that we all think about, like why we took a car to the moon.Or why men do stupid things to impress women. Better yet how they made the connection between horses and glue.

It's possibly they funniest book you can ever buy.

Product Description
Ted L Nancy continues his gently surreal correspondence with the great and the good. His hilarious and bizarre letters - as before with unusual queries, complaints and requests - not only manage to fool many recipients into starchy and strait-laced answers but in some cases elicit equally hilarious, tongue-in-cheek replies. Ted writes to ask a certain soft drink giant if it's okay to sell his own 'Kiet Doke' brand of soda (in case it harms their sales) and contacts a restaurant to ask if he can bring his own waiter, as 'he brings me my soup hot and my salad with just the right amount of dressing'. That Ted can bring out people's welcoming and hospitable side with a letter detailing the problem of the permanent squeak he suffers when walking is a tribute to his unique style. Innocent as it is at turns outrageous, More Letters from a Nut is totally enthralling and painfully funny: 'Dear Mayor's Office: I want to give back to the community. I want to stage the play "Romeo and Juliet" using otter. There will be no racy scenes but some holding. Otters will play Romeo, Juliet, and the others. We will bring the otters out at the intermission to pet. These otters are something to see. They have performed this play many times with only one biting incident.' ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars absurd, surreal, hilarity are all of Mr. Nancy's collections.
Dear Mr. Nancy, I am writing to inform you that your books are absolute hilarity. Almost as funny as a gorilla bowling (only one gutter ball!). The story about the sponge scared me. Is there something I can do about noisy household supplies? Whatever happened to Pip the Mighty Squeak? What about the Turkish Annie? Did you ever get that Nicotine blanket? I would like to go to your sleep and soup restaurant, but I haven't found one in my area. Do you have corn chowder? Your books are definitely an A.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple Comedy
Having already read Ted L. Nancy's first volume, I was more than excited to read more outrageous letters.Similar to the Laszlo Letters (but much better), Ted L. Nancy writes zany letters to all sorts of organizations (companies, governments, the military, hotels and more) to make his hilarious requests.Though they are, of course, outlandish, but that's the entertainment.

Equally as entertaining are some of the response letters.Because most aren't totally sure that Ted L. Nancy is fake, they have to diplomatically word their letters -- great stuff.

Jerry Seinfeld has written the forward to both books by Nancy, causing many to speculate that he is the real author.Check out the wikipedia page on Ted Nancy for more details, but I'm not completely convinced that Seinfeld is the real author.Nevertheless, More Letters From a Nut continues the great tradition from before, and also makes for great comedy when read aloud.Enjoy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Winner
More hilarious satire (in letter form) from "Ted L. Nancy" who writes these jaw-droppingly unbelievable letters to corporations, governments, businesses and individuals, and the most remarkable part is, more often than not he gets a reply from these poor souls who try to piece together the meaning of Nancy's deadpan inquires about such inanities as the wearing of costumes on public buses, a hotel's policy on dealing with a chronic bedwetter who wishes to check in. A very funny book in a goofy collection.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good
More Letters from a Nut was fairly funny. There were a few laugh out loud moments (like the inquiry as to whether the US Treasury was going to be putting Lincoln's bottom half instead of his portrait on the five dollar bill - gotta love that!) Overall, though, I thought the letters were too far fetched to even be slightly plausible - and being plausible (to a degree) is what makes a premise like this work.

I felt Paul Rosa's Idiot Letters was much funnier.I haven't read the first Letters from a Nut, though.Maybe it will be better...

5-0 out of 5 stars What a nut
Ted L. Nancy is such a card!

God bless his little soul, this is an amazing heart-warming novel. You should definitely read this. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the price.
Book was sold at a great price. and like new condition. I would order from this seller again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Grade B
The art is good, the text is interesting, but the book design is bad in this pricey hardback. Each stage of creating this computer-animated movie is shown, from early concept drawings to discarded set ideas to showing the different wax textures chosen for the Hive scenes. Especially interesting are the dozens of different characters and bee vehicles. Adding to the fun are lots of comments from Jerry Seinfeld about the creation of "Bee Movie."

But the poor design! Several boxes of text, and many page numbers, are white on yellow, which is almost impossible to read. There's no index, and the table of contents is vague. And there are several typos. The gorgeous art deserves better.

Here's the table of contents:

* Foreword by Jerry Seinfeld
* Introduction
* The Hive (includes: Early hive and Honex development, bee vehicles, pollen-jock guns, hive furniture)
* Central Park
* Manhattan (includes: Vanessa's apartment, Vanessa's flower shop, town and country, courtroom, vehicles)
* The characters (includes: Vanessa, Ken, early bee development, Barry, Adam, Barry and Adam together, Martin Benson, pollen jocks, queen bee, Montgomery)
* Visual effects, props and graphics

5-0 out of 5 stars A Delightful Find
I found the "The Art of Bee Movie" to be a delightful visual exertion into the creative development of a wonderful film. Have not completed the reading of the book yet , but have eye walked many times over the illustrations. Have found many visual ideas that will leave me thinking for a period to come. Only wish two things where made better. There are page bleeds at top and bottom (page 12 and 39 are examples) that seem to hurt the illustrations. Also several times there is white letters on a light yellow back drop, who can read that text? Glad I brought the book and saw the movie. I would suggest this book for anyone interested in the creative process. ... Read more
