Great for any level of Bible Study - group or individual.
This book has a great format.Small sections to tackle each day with fresh commentary.I lead a women's Bible study with women from all places on their walk and we all find the book to be great.It leads to great conversation and further reading.This book could also be used for youth group because the writing is basic yet challenging and LIFE CHANGING.

Excellent 5 minute devotional
I have been going thru this book for the last month and it is an excellent book for self study or for small group discussions. There are 7 parts per chapter, one part for each day of the week. One Year Book of Psalms
I already had this book and I just recently bought two from you to give as gifts to a couple of my friends.I love it so very much.It is easy to read and the stories on the facing pages of each Psalm help bring it to life.

Great devotional
I love this book of Psalms. Not only can you read a psalm or 1/2 psalm daily but historical information, poems, other biblical cross references are included. A great way to learn about the book of psalms. Also each day is short so it is easy to keep up with throught the year.

Great Idea!
I wish more books in the Bible were done like this. It's the perfect amount of reading material.8 - 12 verses on one page. Then a thought-provoking essay on the next page.Bible Networking and Quotes are added in the margin for further insight or study.

I'd love to see more volumes like this that go through for example, the Minor Prophets, through Jesus' parables, the Pauline Epistles or other groupings of Scripture.

This book of Psalms is pretty awesome.Not only does it provide insight into David's life through his writings but provides us a picture of Jesus - who would come to our earth in the future.The stories and insights written on the right side of the page provides great reading.

The Psalms and devotions here are nicely presented asdaily readings withtie-in verses and excellent quotes, many from the Old Scottish Psalter.The NLT is used for the Psalms. Great book for devotional reading!
This book consists of 100 short, two-page chapters, each featuring a prominent person and the Bible verse that changed his/her life.The book is in chronological order - the first chapter is about Paul the Apostle and the last is Joni Eareckson Tada.Not all the people in this book are theologians (indeed not all of them are good examples, as the disclaimer at the beginning of the book explains.There are explorers, scientists, rulers of countries, authors, and inventors.

Use this book as a devotional, reading one chapter per day.You might want to look up that Bible verse and read the chapter of the Bible that contains it.Do a study of that verse using other books (see my other reviews and Listmania lists for more books about the Bible).Look up that verse in another devotional's Scripture Index.

This book is also a great introduction to 100 famous people.The chapters give you some background information and make you hungry for more information about them.This book can be a springboard for lifelong learning!Certain people will intrigue you and you can do further reading on those individuals.

Books like this one with short snippets are most easily used when they have good indices.There are many good devotional books without a Scripture Index!This one has both a Scripture Index and a Person Index.Want to know whose life John 3:16 changed for instance?Dwight L Moody!What was Martin Luther's favorite?Romans 1:17"The just shall live by faith."And since the book is laid out chronologically, you can search for someone by the time during which they lived.

The father/son writing team that put this book together has written many other great books - both together and separately.Recent ones that are especially good are 100 Christian Books that Changed the Century, The One Year Book of Psalms, and The Family Book of Bible Fun.

These books provide endless hours of enjoyable reading and spiritual growth.Put this book on your coffee table and you'll find that people will be intrigued and pick it up.This would make a great gift as well!
