Superficial pretentious drivel!
Unfortunately this is more of the same on the lines of the first book. It really is a retread of everything that you already knew about Ms Minogue, and she has to be desperate to keep flogging expensive books like this about herself on to the market all the time. The book is an exercise in self-indulgence and she really is NOT the "cultural force" that she is commonly made out to be here, the pictures are nothing special, the writing is stupid and yes v. self indulgent!
....I don't think many people even care for the subject, it fails to break new ground and its just another retrospective of her career...BORING!!! it fails in every aspect as its a subject that holds very little interest, all comes to mind is that Kylie as an artist and entertainer and producer and songwriter and any insight into the motivation behind her fulfilling these roles is very under represented
....Kylie should hang up that microphone and become a glamour model instead, 'cause there's more interest in her arse these days than her ability to craft a well written song.

Great pictures, but text lacks substance
I bought this book hoping to gain an insight into the international pop icon that is Kylie Minogue, but left it learning more about how many sequins were sewn onto her stage costumes. Author William Baker set out to explain Kylie's appeal, but has focused mainly on fashion and imagery leaving me slightly disappointed.

The design of this book is also lacklustre in some places with brightly coloured text in the notoriously hard-to-read font 'Courier' set on top of full-colour, busy photographs. There were several pages that were unreadable because of this, with other pages causing some eye strain. Yes, it looks modern, but it's hardly functional. Perhaps the design team knew that the text needn't have been read and thus implored more stylistic typographic styles.

What made me give this book three stars was all the great pictures of Kylie, which are sure to delight her fans.

Yeah...
I found this book to be really interesting except for the fact that every now and then the co-writer 'Willian Baker' would talk more about himself than kylie, more about his super hero 'Boy George' than Kylie and reveal anecdotes of his adolescence that really aren't to the point. If we wanted to read a review on William Baker or Boy George, we would have bought their own autobiographies but we bought one called 'KYLIE : La la la' and expect it to be about her. I thought the parts she wrote were most interesting and I loved the pictures. This book is done tastefully and isn't the smut that some have blasted it to be. I live in Australia and the cover of my copy is different but the content is all the same. It's a fantastic testament to her career and really shows in visual form the history that has been her performing life so far. A great companion to any album or concert release, I found it most interesting and I good read.

Great insight into Kylie's World
This book is great; lots of photos and behind-the-scenes views of Kylie's life and especially her tours.While it is nice to hear her address her feelings on topics such as the "Impossible Princess" album and her SAW years, it is not the tell-all autobiography many had hoped it would be.Kylie does offer insights here and there, but she states early in the book that she's not ready to write an autobiography yet.For example, she barely mentions her relationship with Michael Hutchence.

My only real gripes with this book are that sometimes the text is really difficult to read with the color combinations that were chosen, and that William Baker, who wrote much of the book, injects too much of his own autobiographical information.I know that for part of it, he is trying to establish his credentials as a fashion consultant or whatever he is, but it comes off as incredibly self-absorbed a lot of the time.Quite frankly, I'm surprised that Kylie, as the star of the book, allowed that to happen. I would have given it only 4 1/2 stars if that were possible, but I rounded it up to 5 to be fair.

These are minor complaints however...it really is a great book.I had to go watch my Kylie Tour DVDs again after reading the it, taking into account all the tidbits I had learned about what went on.Plus, the photograph collection really is amazing.Looking through the pictures that chronicle her evolution over the years, it is really easy to see why some call her "The Australian Madonna" here in the States.No Kylie fan should pass this book up! ... Kylie is excellent
THE... Kylie bible. Need I say more???

This book is excellent. It show cases how great Kylie is and has some great pictures and information about Kylie.

Saying that, please don't forget about the La La La book. I personally think that THAT book is much better.

Con about this book is the front cover - very boring. A hand going up in the air with a wrist band saying Kylie. Mmmmm... stop and think. But it is pretty rubbish - would you do that if you were an artist and wanted to design a book???

I'll leave you to think.

Boring front cover.
The cover put me off right away, it's very boring. Not alot of thought went into the design of the book. contains many wacky and silly poems about "kylie" for some reason, and hardly any contribution by Kylie. seems like a vanity project took too far. I was relatively a new kylie fan until saw this book, but the pics and writing is off putting, it seems so fake. I wonder how much Kylie payed these people to write such nonsense about her??

Pointless.
Don't get this book! it's pointless and screams "ego trip" right the way through, what IS the point of Kylie exactly??? what was the point of doing this book??? what WAS Kylie thinking???? it doesn't give you any answers, questions I asked myself when reading it. I thought doing something as self-indulgent as this would be the last thing Ms Minogue would have to do, but it looks like an obvious attempt by Ms minogue to reinstate to the general public (who don't give a damn actually!) her "powerful influence" and importance and significance to society, just in case we might have forgotten....we don't really need any reminding thank you very much Kylie!...Perhaps we did because Kylie's career seemed to be very much down the dumper at this stage.....The book just made me sick! to think lots of trees were cut down to make this!!!!......
It's a sad attempt...Poor old Kylie!....It just makes her look desperate! it's very self-indulgent, personally I found this book rather funny to look at in places just for the incredibly tacky pictures and prose.....
and other pointless things that make up the majority of this incredibly tacky thrown together project....at the time I can see why it may have seemed a good idea to Kylie and her team, but in later years I think it will only serve as an embarrasing non-event like most things in her career, even her latest book La La La was better, it had a point to it at least! there's not much contributed by Kylie herself in this book seeing as it's a book centred all around her. It's also rudely (and distastefully!) crude in places, (The picture of kylie sitting on a toilet with her panties around her ankles looking at pictures of male and female genitals!???) something I find a bit of a double standard when fans of Kylie point the finger at Madonna for doing the Sex book (which was miles better by the way! - maybe that's the reason for all the bitchiness????).....This Kylie "Evidence" book is only for the fans! so if you're a fan, spend another ridiculous amount of cash on her to complete your absurd growing collection and only share it with other Kylie fanatics when they come around for tea. You know what they all say about Star Trek fans.

Great Design, Great Pictures of an International Icon
When I was 7, I was entranced by the beautiful lady on my TV Screen singing 'The Locomotion'. What happened to her from that point to when I first heard 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' two summers ago was a mystery...until I bought this book. Since releasing 'Fever', I have become a big Kylie fan and bought this book to see what exactly has made her so famous in virtually every other country of the world.

Plain and simple, and detailed in this book as well as 'La La La' by William Baker, image had A LOT to do with it. Kylie is a very beautiful woman who is willing to become a blank canvas for her art, thus giving various facets to her pop persona. She is pop princess, avant-garde revivalist, indie paramour, cheesy, classy, showgirl and icon. This book displays pictures from all of these points, flattering and otherwise.

The design of this book is also great and I'm sure it will remain a collector's item for Kylie fans in the future.

No, not really.I just think it's strange that rabid Madonna fans are so insecure with Madonna's status nowadays that they feel the need to leave negative reviews on her competition's products on Amazon.

dull self promotion-an adventure in narcissism
this is NOT a childrens book it is a really bad attempt at self promotion. most kids book will have a "message" the only message here is about egotism and to remind people that the "showgirl" tour is on the road again. tacky illustrations too. i could go on but theres not enough room. this book is a pile of rubbish and a waste of trees.
if you really want this book, just wait, it will end up in the bargain bin.

I perused this book while at a Borders.Being a bit of an expert on Australia, I have known about the "Kylie phenomenon" which has been going on for quiet sometime in the world (other than the U.S.).Of course, now that Kylie has broken down the doors to the American market, money is to be made on her likeness and all that is Kylie.

KYLIE NAKED is nothing but fluff.What else do you expect from someone who writes for the SUN?The basis of my opinion stems from the fact that Vincent Lovegrove's book BURN is a major source in the writing of this pulp fiction.For those who are unaware, BURN by Vincent Lovegrove had its rights pulled by its publishers; the author's sources were not reliable, his stories contrived.Lovegrove thanks people who have been dead for years/whom he has never met in his epilogue.BURN is one of several biographies about the late lead singer of INXS, Michael Hutchence.

Hutchence was one of the men in Minogue's life; their affairs highly publicized (not much in the U.S. as we are in our own little bubble).Minogue has credited Hutchence posthumously for being the single most important man in her life, introducing to her to a world from which she was sheltered, changing her perspective and image, in turn, making her the Kylie the world has come to know.
