Now I have a child
This book was one of the most memorable and enjoyable that I read as a child. In reading the other reviews I can see the sentiments and memories repeated.

Now I have my own child I am keen to share the inventive storytelling that stuck in my memory to this day and made books special.As clever as Dahl and and Tolkien, Milligan was a pioneer in the era of childrens writing where "yucky stuff abounds" fast becoming popular now as it appeals to kids.

Love this book!
I finally have a copy! After years of searching for this classic from my childhood, a friend sent it to me from New Zealand. I too,think that it was only published in NZ in any real quantities.

If you've never read this book it is a must. The recording by Spike Milligan is even better! Hilarious for both kids and adults. (Very rare to find copies but can be found in online in MP3 format occasionally) Highly recommended.

Legendary!
This book had the most profound effect on me when I was a child. The images and characters that Milligan describes are still with me today. It is funny, entertaining and a must for children of all ages. I have a feeling that it is only available here in NZ. If you can get hold of a copy then you are very lucky!!

Badjelly is the craziest witch I've heard!She is VERY wicked.She eats little children and she hates god.I think Tim and Rose are very brave children.Blink blonk's dog and the tin lion are funny!If you have notheard this story yet, you must go and see it.It's very interesting. Scripts of hard to find shows
The Goon Show was the last great Radio show before Television destoyed the medium.

About 1/3 of the shows recordings still exist. From the best of my knowledge, and my collection, these ones don't. If you are a Goons fan,buy it. If you are not a Goons Fan, why are you reading this review? Buysome of the recordings available thru Amazon.Com, become a fan and then buythis book.

Spike Milligan The Goon Cartoons
I received my copy of The Goon Cartoons years ago. I didn't realize how valuable it was until I punched in the search details into Amazon.
If you are a Goon Show fan and would like to introduce others to the Goon Show world, this is a good start. It picks up the flavour and atmosphere of the original Goon Shows. Taken from the actual scripts, the comedy is easy to follow and should prove interesting to those studying the history of comedy and its influences of later comic troops like Monty Python and some American comics. ... hhhhhhhmmmmmm
this book is really funny and a good collectible but it took me about 45 minutes to read it. it is really funny and like all the other spike milligan books its mad!!!! it has got a mix of
poems animals and a storie. this is a great book but i wonder why nobody is reviewing it(probably busy reading the book over and other again. If i could i would giv this book a 4 AND A HALF
but you can't do that.
