Captain Lopez's last posting before retirement was as senior member of a naval board which conducted a general survey of vessels on the Pacific coast. 5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing product!
This is a great songbook who anyone who loves Avenue Q, or any modern musical. My best friend and I spend hours playing the songs and singing along!

It was a great buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great musical, great score
The arrangements here are great: They're in keys that are easy to play, yet aren't overly simplified. This is Vocal Selections only; it doesn't include "If You Were Gay," "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" (a real shame), "Mix Tape," "You Can Be as Loud As You Want," "There Is Life Outside Your Apartment," "Schadenfreude" (another shame), "The Money Song" or "School for Monsters." ... Product Description
There has long been a need for a commentary on the New Testament from a Free Grace perspective. This two volume, hardbound commentary provides explanation of all of the difficult New Testament texts, including the ones that seem to deny eternal security, ones that seem to contradict justification by faith alone, and ones that seem to condition kingdom entrance upon perseverance. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Study Resource
I have not read this resource in its entirety, so I can't say much, but what I have read so far, selections from the Romans, James, Revelation and most of Hebrews I would certainly recommend these volumes. So far I have been incredibly encouraged as well as intellectually stimulated by the work of the many scholars who made detailed and thorough contributions.Instead of shying away from some of the hard to understand passages, this volume tackles them head on and clearly and continually demonstrates how God's Word is consistent and need not be overly complicated.

The only downside to this work is the lack of publicity that has preceded its arrival. This is a gem of a resource and more people should know about it.It has the potential of being one of the greatest commentaries of our time.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Commentary Is Practical
I have found that this commentary is very readable, thorough, and practical for those interested in reading and studying the Bible. Others also concur. Just recently an individual told me he likes reading The Grace New Testament Commentary because it offers practical explanations of the passages he may be reading for that day.Another person told me that although he had looked at a certain passage several times in his life, this commentary highlighted some issues in this particular passage that he had never before considered.

In reading through this commentary, I have found that it also contributes in drawing distinctions of the grace gospel, discipleship and rewards.Even though you may not agree with everything in it, The Grace New Testament Commentary will encourage you to become a better student of the Bible and hopefully a stronger disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must-have commentary!
I love studying the word of God and have greatly appreciated the ministry of Grace Evangelical Society for the clarity and simplicity they have in expounding the gospel message. When I heard of this commentary I was thrilled because I've been waiting for it for years! And I wasn't disappointed to get it!
The commentary generally tries to avoid technical issues and focusses on providing a coherent exposition of every book in the NT. It does this admirably and provides a stimulating and readable commentary. Some of the commentaries are superb! The commentary on Romans by Rene Lopez is a condensation of his excellent work "Romans Unlocked" and it does what it says - it unlocks the truths of Romans in a fresh, insightful and helpful way! Likewise, the commentaries by Zane Hodges on James, 2 Peter and 1,2 and 3 John are marvelous! Other excellent contributions by the other authors make this a commentary worth buying.
This commentary comes at an excellent price and whether you are a beginner or a mature student of the word of God, this commentary will provide food for thought and above all, it will build you up spiritually. What greater commendation of this commentary could I give than to say that it will provide you with a solid basis for assurance of eternal life, stimulating motivation for holy living, a renewed love for the God of grace, and clear explanations of how you can live a life pleasing to God? In my life, this commentary has been hugely encouraging because the impact is not merely academic. This is a commentary that will draw you closer to God and help you to see how that the Christian life is from beginning to end, by faith in our wonderful God.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST COMMENTARY I HAVE EVER OWNED!
I am a layman [math professor at a community college in Virginia] who recently purchased a copy of The Grace New Testament Commentary. To me this commentary is absolutely REVOLUTIONARY in that
1) It is useful from cover to cover [unlike other commentaries I have ever used - which I have had to use very selectively]
2) It interprets the Word of God from a "free grace" perspective [which I believe is the only correct perspective]. That is, it clearly brings out - from Scripture - the unconditional eternal security of the believer as well as the responsibility that ensues after faith. Thus the doctrine of rewards is correctly presented from the text. This is done in no other commentary of the entire New Testament.
3) It is carefully based on the Greek text of the New Testament - instead of simply choosing a favorite interpretation from a "trusted" expositor. This gives the reader the authority of Scripture rather than the authority of a favorite author.

I might add, in addition, that it is very reasonably priced. I could not be more enthusiastic about this commentary - which I plan to use for the rest of my life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Grace Centered Commentary
Have you ever been confused or frustrated when you read a commentary on passages like Ephesians 2:8-9 that say that salvation is a free gift from God on the basis of faith in Christ alone and not on the basis of works, but then read the same commentary on passages like James 2:14-26 where it implies that good works must accompany genuine saving faith in Christ? If so, then this is is the commentary for you!

The authors of this commentary believe that eternal life is a free gift received simply by faith in Christ. This is the gospel and clearly stated in the Bible throughout both the Old and New Testaments.Justification before God has always been on the basis of faith not works (Old Testament saints were saved by faith in the Messiah to come while New Testament saints are saved by faith in the Messiah who came, namely Jesus Christ). As such, this message of grace and gift of salvation by faith in Christ is a crucial cornerstone in Christian theology that must be understood and considered when interpreting the remainder of Scripture. This commentary does not stray away from the basic truth of salvation when explaining some of the more difficult passages that seem, when taken at face value and often out of context, to advocate a message contrary to faith alone in Christ alone for salvation, namely passages suggesting good works are required for salvation or other adding additional conditions for salvation beyond faith (i.e. Matthew 7:15-23, 10:32-33, Acts 2:38, Romans 10:9-10, 1 Corinthians 6:9, Galatians 5:4,19, Hebrews 6:4-6, 10:26-29, James 2:14-26, 2 Peter 2:20-21, 1 John 3:6,9-10).Each of these passages has a reasonable explanation when explained in context and that remains true to the gospel message of grace through faith in Christ for eternal life. You will be blessed by having this commentary and understanding more fully the amazing grace of God! ... At the time of his birth John VII was Regent of the Byzantine Empire for his uncle Manuel II Palaiologos . At an unknown date, probably after his father settled in Thessalonica , Andronikos V was proclaimed nominal co-emperor, probably by 1403/1404. He predeceased his father, dying probably in 1407. It should be noted that the imperial status of both John VII and Andronikos V was purely honorary and they were not fully-fledged co-emperors (although John VII had reigned as emperor in 1390 and as regent in Constantinople from 1399 to 1403). 4-0 out of 5 stars A truly delightful, cohesive story
In Oggie Cooder's second delightful outing, he is actually invited to mean girl neighbor Donnica Perfecto's swimming party after he has experienced long-term tremendous yearning to plunge into her pool. Oggie is so thrilled; he makes his peculiar pleased sound by fluttering his tongue against the roof of his mouth: "Prrrr-ip! Prrrr-ip!"

What he doesn't know is that Donnica's mother insisted that her daughter invite Oggie; she wants to stay on Oggie's mom's good side. Mrs. Cooder helps Mrs. Perfecto with her gardening, and Mrs. Perfecto wants her landscaping to be nice enough that she will be considered for membership in the Wawatosa Gardening Club. In fact, Donnica is determined to keep Oggie from actually attending her party. Donnica is in a snit in general about her birthday festivities since she wanted (and, because she is spoiled, she also expected) the rock band Cheddar Jam to play at her party. With the news that her father hired Bumbles the Juggling Bear instead of Cheddar Jam, Donnica is bound to be in a dreadful funk, which makes her even more resolute about keeping Oggie from attending the party.

While Oggie is innocently looking forward to being a guest at Donnica's party and trying to decide what to give her as a present, his own life goes on. He spends time researching inventors. After all, Oggie hopes to invent something someday. He truly pays attention when librarian Ms. Hepper informs him that "Necessity is the mother of invention." Hmm. A tip like that could change a young boy's life...or even alter the course of a book's plot. Meanwhile, Oggie must answer that eternal question "Who am I?" in the form of an assigned Japanese poetry haiku, and he also makes the acquaintance of the phone company repair people, who rise up in the air in a "cherry picker" to work on the telephone lines.

When Donnica informs Oggie that he can only attend her party if he can memorize (and follow) 101 B.P.R.'s (Birthday Party Rules), it seems that her ploy will keep Oggie home on the big day. But Oggie's good friend, Amy Schneider, is determined that he will attend, even though Oggie tells her he is a poor memorizer. The solution to Oggie's memorization problem is clever --- and might inspire readers to use the same tool as a memory aid.

Oggie is a likable character and a true innocent. Sometimes his cluelessness feels a bit extreme, but it sets him up for amusing situations. The plot moves rapidly along, and the battle over whether or not Oggie will attend Donnica's party adds suspense. There's a very nice twist in the story when a boy who dislikes girls discovers the only person who shares his passionate interest is a female. Readers are also bound to admire the way author Sarah Weeks manages to weave together a handful of disparate threads --- including a new-found friend, a juggling bear, a cherry picker filled with repair people, second-hand trousers, a rock band, a creative main character and a whistling dog --- into a truly delightful, cohesive story that is likely to incite fans to imitate Oggie's purr of pleasure: "Prrrr-ip! Prrrr-ip!"
