5-0 out of 5 stars Very good devotional
We are using this book as a family devotional and even my 9 year old is participating in the quick study time. The devotionals are short, to the point, but leaves plenty of room for conversation on the topic.Highly recommended, It's even a nice reminder for adults of the importance of the daily dose of God's word.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth Your Money
I found this book very shallow and disappointing. It seemed random and without focus, and had many things irrelative to your Christian walk.

One of the qualities which has made Burns's own poetry both so accessible and easily memorable to a wide range of readers over the centuries is the way in which he can enshrine proverbial wisdom in a few pithy lines. This anthology is a collection of 700 quotations from Burns's poetry and from his vigorously written letters in prose. They are arranged alphabetically, by subject matter, under headings such as birds, books, children, clothes, criticism, death, the devil, drinking, fame, farming, God, health, love, manners, money, parenthood, rank, remorse, sex and women. ... Product Description
As the frequency of hemodialysis sessions has always been a concern, it is not astonishing that interest in quotidian (daily) hemodial ysis appears to be growing worldwide. The main reasons for more fre quent dialysis are to maximize well-being and minimize both intra-and interdialytic symptoms, as well as to improve the treatment of patients with severe underlying medical problems, particularly card iovascular disease. Moreover, studies also indicate overall potenti al cost savings as compared with current conventional hemodialysis. There are two options available, namely short daily and long nightl y treatments. The main difference centers on the ability of the nig htly regimen to remove greater amounts of phosphate and 2-microglo bulin. Even so, there is no doubt that both treatments are highly p referable to conventional three times weekly dialysis. Further issu es which are discussed include the requirements necessary to run di alysis programs, vascular access requirements, and the management o f complications and risks such as calcium and phosphorus control. This is the first publication devoted solely to daily hemodialysis therapies: Concentrating on clinical and technical issues, it is an important contribution to the practical development of daily hemod ialysis and is highly recommended to nephrologists, nurses, manager s of renal programs and others involved in renal care. ... Excerpt: Sir Conrad Marshall John Fisher Swan, KCVO, KGCN, FSA, FRHSC (born 1924) was a long-serving officer of arms at the College of Arms in London. Having been first appointed to work at the College in 1962, he rose to the office of Garter Principal King of Arms in 1992. Swan was also the first Canadian ever to be appointed to the College of Arms. Conrad Swan was born in 1924 in British Columbia, Canada. His father was descended from the old polish noble family of wicicki, (Coat of arms of Jastrzbiec). After emigrating to Canada in 1884 the family changed the name to Swan. Swan devoted much of his life to travelling. Having decided to make a lifetime career in the Indian Army, Swan was sent by the India Office (the UK governmental office responsible for India at the time) to the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Having completed the course there, he proceeded to India and was commissioned and appointed to the Madras Regiment, the oldest in the country. Indian Independence (1947) caused him to make other decisions "it being the end of a chapter". Upon retirement from the Indian Army, he went directly back to Canada to take a BA and MA at the University of Western Ontario (Assumption College). During this time, he developed a keen interest in Commonwealth affairs, which brought him back to Britain, where he acquired his doctorate from Cambridge University in 1955. Swan spent six years (1955-1961) lecturing in history at the Assumption University of Windsor, Ontario, of which he was also University Beadle. The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars.
This collection reveals the history of English common law and Empire law in a vastly changing world of British expansion. Excerpt: Michael Kanaan (b. 23 May 1975) is an Australian triple murderer from Sydney, New South Wales, currently serving 3 sentences of life imprisonment plus 50 years and 4 months without the possibility of parole for the murder of 3 people and other offences, all committed in Sydney between 17 July 1998 and 22 December 1998. A psychologist's report in 2001 indicated that Kanaan experienced a normal, stable upbringing, that he and his family had a deep devotion to the Christian faith and that he abstained from the consumption of alcohol. He attended CBHS Lewisham in Sydney and achieved a good result in his Higher School Certificate. He entered a degree course at university with a view to entering the Australian Federal Police force, but following a conviction for an assault charge he instead entered the computer industry. In the late 1990s Danny Karam formed a gang using his own initials: "DK's Boys". The gang's chief activity was the sale of cocaine in the inner-Sydney suburb of Kings Cross. Other members included Kanaan, Rabeeh Mawas, Wassim El-Assaad, Charlie Gea Gea, Saleh Jamal and a man who would later be given the pseudonym "Alan Rossini". On the evidence of Rossini, he, along with Kanaan, Shadi Derbas, Bassam Kazzi and an unidentified man, drove to a cafe in Five Dock in Sydney's inner-western suburbs. Shortly after leaving the cafe they stopped on the Great Northern Road at traffic lights. Nearby was the Five Dock Hotel. After leaving school, Lindsay enrolled in the drama department of a technical college in Nottingham, and intended to become a drama teacher.
