Product Description
There's only so much frustration a guy can handle before he gets a little nutty. For Jude Jamison, his frustration has a name - May Price. She's everything the former Hollywood bad boy actor came to Stillbrook, Ohio, hoping to find: open, honest, lovable, and full of those luscious curves you don't find on stick-figure starlets - curves May doesn't seem to appreciate in herself. Every time Jude tries to get close to the skittish business woman, to take her in his arms, she thinks he's joking. Joking? Joking does not involve lots of cold-shower therapy. It's time for new tactics. If May can't respond to his sly compliments and sexy innuendos, he'll just have to spell it out for her. Jude Jamison is going to lay down the law for May Price. And, after that, she'll have no delusions about just how much he wants her... ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This is one law you should probably just ignore...
The `gorgeous, rich guy falls for plain Jane' storyline is a Romance novel staple. The whole concept may be a little far-fetched,but when it's done well it makes for a sweet and satisfying read. This is not one of those.

The book starts with Jude Jamison, handsome actor and `ultimate fighter', in self-imposed exile in rural Ohio.He is completely obsessed by `curvy'May Price, a local gallery owner. Now why exactly is Jude so taken with May?Is it her unflattering, frumpy clothes, her ill-fitting glasses that are always crooked or falling off her face?Maybe it's the way she can barely string together half a dozen intelligent words whenever he speaks to her. It must be the way she allows her cruel and unfeeling family to walk all over her without standing up for herself. It's as if the author was afraid the character would lose her `underdog' status if she was given any attractive qualities. One of my biggest issues with this book was the way nothing is "shown"; we don't see Jude fall for May, he's obsessed with her and devoted to her from page one.As for Jude, well he's perfect. The kind of perfect man that exists only in the over-active imagination of an adolescent girl.Handsome, famous, sexy, brave, rich...the list goes on and on.Nope, Jude has no flaws whatsoever - nothing to make him even remotely interesting.

The plot is utterly ridiculous, involving a gangster type who is out to get Jude and uses May's whiny, alcoholic (and completely unlikable) brother to gain access. The whole story takes place over roughly a 48 hour period in Jude's palatial home out in the middle of nowhere. The lavish house and its belongings are described in boring detail, just in case you forgot that Jude is rich with a capital "R".To top it off, the dialogue is awkward and unrealistic.I will say that the sex scenes were well done:straightforward and explicit, almost out of place in this otherwise saccharine- laced book. But even great sex can't fix everything and this one is beyond repair.

5-0 out of 5 stars law
in this book jude is hot for the gallery owner he buys all his art from but when some dangerous men come knocking what starts out as a strained friendship turns into a full out ramantic maze with twists and turns that keep you inthralled till the verry end and when you have finally put it down you find yourself reaching for the next book id recomend this to anyone seeking romance thrill and major plot twists

4-0 out of 5 stars A good read, but...
Lori Foster is hit or miss for me, but this one was more enjoyable than some. It had some excellent tension and sizzle, but it lagged in a few spots. Also, I felt we were hit over the head with her weight issues again and again. I remember the word "jiggle" (or a variation of the word) being used repeatedly. It really detracted from the story. I prefer authors to establish that the heroine is not pencil-thin, then carry on with the story. This is really a 3.5, rounded up to 4.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I love this book. It was so funny and adorable and hilarious and romantic. There was a bit of everything in it and i loved all the characters especially Jude and May.

I don't want to give away the story in writing this review because i STRONGLY believe in a person getting to read the story and judging for themselves and not getting disuaded by a review whether bad or good. Because you don't get to enjoy the book by yourselves. So read this book!! I can't believe it ended and i want to read more from Lori Foster, she is a very dynamic and different kind of writer. Involves you in a story that is rare nowdays.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I tried to read it, but I just couldn't finish. The writing was good, but I can't read another eyeglass wearing fat girl who has one of the most gorgeous guys practically begging her to have sex with him. I couldn't even read the sex scenes for going eewww. Just nothing appealing about the lead female character. Basically, the attraction between the hunky, sexy man and the overweight unattractive female turned me off. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Jude Law - by a journalist
This book is written by a journalist - not always the most unbiased of people to write a story about a celebrity.I found some errors of fact in this book and wonder how much else was erroreous. The photos are nice; but I wonder about the quality of content.

4-0 out of 5 stars Now I have to go read Jude's Law
I recently started the SBC Fighters series and wondered where Tim came from. That lead me to Murphy's Law.

Really nice Lori Foster book.I can't say that it made me laugh as much as some of her other titles but the story line was more complete.Good dialogue.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the fact that the main character wasnt a push over and she stood her grounds.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad
This wasn't bad and could have been better had Ms. Foster not rushed the ending. She built up the story for 300 pages and then wrapped everything up in a neat little bow in the last 25 pages.I didn't understand why she did this.It was like she had a page limit that she couldn't go over.I enjoyed the interplay between the characters especially some of the minor characters. You definitely should read Ms. Foster's earlier book, Jude's Law before this book as it explains how the two lead characters met and their attraction. This is a definite beach book. It's very lighthearted and easy to read. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick fun read.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of Lori Foster, had to read it twice!
Loved, loved, loved this book!I read this one before Jude's Law, and yet I didn't mind in the least that the main characters had already met.Lori did a great job in making this book self contained, and I appreciated it.

Ashley is a hoot! She's a true character, and Quinton is attracted to her despite the fact that she normally wouldn't be his type. She definitely brings out his best qualities, and they're fun together.

Quinton is, well, amazing. He's flawed, but they're not so massive that a woman should go running off into the night to avoid him.Okay, so he's got a past, but then that's common in the world of romance where the men are promiscuous, and the women tend to be rather virtuous--at least when compared to the notches on his bedpost.

The love scenes are better, and the fact that you can get some chuckles thrown in at the same time makes this book stand out in my personal collection. There aren't too many that I keep, but this is a favorite for sure.

2-0 out of 5 stars Didn't do it for me
Perennial student Ashley is working several jobs while finishing her education and doesn't have time for the romantic attention that hunky millionaire Quinton Murphy wants to bestow on her. Soon lust takes over and they are embroiled in a heated affair, but a stalker from her past is on the lam and lurking about and angry with Ashley who was instrumental in identifying him (see "Jude's Law"). She doesn't take those threats seriously, much to Quinton's annoyance, as he works overtime to create a relationship with the prickly heroine.

Laced with so much clunky dialogue that no 29 year old in the 21st century would utter, an obvious predictability to Ashley's parentage, and a laughable bad guy, the story just falls short on all fronts. Quinton is too good to be true, while Ashley is a shrew most of the time. I made the mistake of reading the "Law" books out of order, and figure if this is the level of writing I can expect, Jude can go right to the charity pile along with Murphy. Had it not been for a long transatlantic flight with no other reading material, it probably would've gone unread. What happened to the Lori Foster who penned the brilliantly sexy and witty "Unexpected?"

Product Description
This is a classic 'dream' book - breaking away to a remote island and making a success of it - but it is also a remarkably useful locally-themed cookbook, based on the traditional produce of the Isles of Scilly and the special secrets of the bakery on the off-island of St Martin's. It's a book for anyone interested in islands and remote places, as well as cookery. Toby Tobin-Dougan made a lifestyle leap and moved to the tiny community on St Martin's, Isles of Scilly, where he opened a bakery, bought the pub, and installed a first-rate chef, Paul Websdale. In "The Island Ingredient" they tell their story, alongside 115 pages of fantastic food and bakery specialities, using locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible. It features text, recipes...and a third ingredient. The job Toby left was professional photography. This book is thick with remarkable photos of one of the most beautiful places on earth - over 90 in the section about the island, and another 70 pictures of the recipes. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Useful employment law textbook
This is a very useful employment law textbook. This book is a valuable read for many students as well as those who wish to learn more about labor law and human resources law.If you are an expert in the field you might not find this book to be as useful.

5-0 out of 5 stars emplyment law 4th edition
The book was in excellent condition. It had very little highlights in it. I would definitely by from this seller again.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Book
This book is just OK.It's definitely written from/for an HR person, not a law student, although it's absolutely full of cases which makes it a bit difficult to read. The general approach is to present a topic and then give real case examples. The topic information is often, in my opinion, a bit short and could be easily expanded to explain the critical points the cases are trying to enforce / develop. The cases themselves make the book long and difficult to read, mostly because you have to read the back story and legal argument to get to the reason why it was included in a particular chapter. Also, I do find it a bit preachy... summaries and quick examples often tell you not just about the law, but about how certain things are morally right and wrong. If this is for a class, you're stuck.. if you want a good HR / Law book, you might want to try another book.
