Great read
Heidi may be a Supermodel but we could also call her a Wisdom-model. Such a positive approach on life that is interpreted throughout this book. Lots of super cool tips and life experience stories. A great read.

A MOTIVATIONAL MUST-READ FOR ALL
This book is AWESOME AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE.

It's a simple read, but is very inspiring!

I don't understand why some people thought it is a book on how to be a model, or how Heidi became a model, when the cover clearly reads "8 RULES OF MODEL BEHAVIOR (To Help You Take Off on the Runway of Life)"."The RUNWAY OF LIFE"--hello!!!. This book is full of advice on living your LIFE, enjoying every moment, having fun with everything you do, no matter what profession you may have.

I honestly return or sell a lot of books I buy (because they don't leave a lasting impression on me), but this one is definitely a KEEPER!

It's definitely worth the $18!!!

Loved It!
I was at a low point in my life and this book helped me gain a lighter perspective on my situation. You can find inspiration in all sorts of things and don't have to be heavy and serious. I loved the book and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Like a Magazine
This book is easy to read and is very visual much like a magazine, hence the cover art. It is packed with photographs from Heidi's long career. The layout is done in short segments so that it seems like a magazine filled with stories. There are several how-to lists like one that records what members of the opposite sex should know about each other.

This book is a fun, female oriented account from a popular super model. Men will like the book for the many photographs, many of them semi-nude. It includes a bit of a biography telling how Klum got into modeling and information about her family. However, like a magazine, this book is nothing outstanding. The information is grazed over and the many how-to articles do not really add much. The opinions held are often those that can be found in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan.

This is only a book, it's Heidi's photo album..!!
...I personally like Heidi's first book, although it's generally for women reader, but, as Heidi's fans (supporter), I really love this book, which includes many of her favorite pictures and her feeling of life. Beautiful images of a beautiful sunject. Body painting is an amazing art form. Quite good 'coverage' (ha) of am evanescent piece of art.

Misleading Title
I bought this book as I am a fan of body painting, photography, and of course beautiful women.However the title of this book leads one to believe that all the pictures in it are comparable to the cover.They are not.This is just a collection of different styles of photos.Only 4 out of the entire book do I consider artistic.The rest are just "Oh, look, here is (insert celebrity name here) sort of naked."There were a number of photos where the model/celebrity only had eye shadow or eyebrows painted on.No other painting to be found.So does that mean that all the women out there that can put eye shadow/lipstick/mascara on can now list body painting specialist on their resume?I still don't see any "body paint" on the Pamela Anderson photo.Just an excuse to show her without any clothes.

So if you are a person that likes to collect different erotic photos of celebrities then this is the book for you.If you are looking for true artistic body painting there are much better choices out there."Bodyscapes" by Jean Paul Bourdier is a perfect example.I am very disappointed.There is one photo that was absolutely brilliant that covered both pages, but this was ruined by not being able to flatten the book out to take it all in.I recommend checking out the plate pic in the index to truly see how amazing the shot was.

Bottom line is the book is not a complete waste, but you can do much better.So only get this if you already have all the others.

Joanne Gair is best known for her painted-on swimsuits and/or shirts appearing in Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition, and justly so.But there is more to her craft than just this; she has painted a number of women (and a few men) so well that it is almost impossible to tell that there was nothing on their skin but paint.That she does it at all may seem a bit odd to most people, but that she does it so well provides all the justification she might need.Make no mistake, this is art, and that Ms. Gair uses the human body for a canvas in no way diminishes her ability.Rather, it enhances it.

Lipstick, airbrush, and Sharpie?
Gair's palette includes lots of materials that other artists' don't, both because of the temporary nature of her original works and because of the sensitive substrate on which she paints. Outside of the human materials, though, the materials don't matter. The finished work does, and dozens of gorgeous samples appear here.

The works cover a wide range of styles and sensibilities. That cover picture of Demi Moore (a frequent subject) enjoys the amusing irony of being "clothed" in almost nothing at all. A similar sense comes from seeing Victoria's Secret lingerie painted onto Heidi Klum. A series for Sports Illustrated takes their traditional bathing suit pictures to a new level of skimpiness. The model herself dominates, in black-on-black (or 'black-on-black' on black?) photos of Suwana. Then the model disappears again, as in the camouflaged image of Sasha, or the anonymous models dotted with pearls or salt crystals. A few images, toward the end, seem like little more than elaborate makeup - but, where could one really draw the line?

The artworks themselves amuse and sometimes tittilate, but rarely show much real erotic content. The models, though unclothed, hardly seem nude. I have to admire them, too, as much as the artist who adorns them or the photographer who captures them. Creating one of these works takes time, as well as some fairly intimate contact with paintbrushes and other tools. I thank them for putting up with it. The result certainly seems worth it.

A trip to the artsy side
This is a pretty nice book, but the images are a little artsy for my taste. They are the type that you might expect to see in a photographer's portfolio -- heavy on the extreme and unnatural facial expressions, fashion, makeup, and to a lesser extent, photographic effects. I felt like the book was as much about the photographer showing off as about showcasing Heidi Klum.

Holy Heidi!
Holy Heidi! This book is as gorgeous as it's namesake. Beautiful binding, unparalleled print quality, very heavy stock: Wow! When I saw this book, I knew I had to have it, and every time I open it, I'm as happy as I was the day it arrived.

What continues to strike me is the relationship that comes across in Rankin's photos. He and Heidi are comfortable with one another. You always hear "smile with your eyes" on shows like America's Next Top Model: in this book, Heidi smiles with her whole body and Rankin captures every inch of it.

Extraordinary!!
Just as the book's title: HEIDILICIOUS!! Great pictures with a sense of complicity between the model and the photographer.

This book it beautiful. The pictures are great (of course,it is Heidi Klum!)and there is a beautiful letter from Seal in the beginning that just melts my heart! Great book and would recommend to to everyone!

Dynamic Personality
When Rankin's Heidlilicious arrived, the book was wrapped in shrink wrap.While removing this plastic, I immediately could appreciate the physical quality of this book.It seems many book publishers are looking for ways to reduce the costs associated with publication and quality often suffers as a result.Heidilicious is the exception.

The dust jacket is thick and double folded at the edges, providing sturdy protection to the hot pink cloth bound boards of the book.If the dust jacket is removed, a smooth-lined silhouette of the female form is embossed in white on the front.The contrast between the white figure and the pink cloth is striking.

The binding appears tight and double-stitched and should survive more than one generation of heavy use.

The high quality of Rankin's photographs are consistent throughout the book and the paper stock used for printing is thick high quality gloss.The ink goes all the way to the edges of the paper.

The mood of the photographs remains playful throughout, but the approach is very dynamic.Heidi mimics a kitten, is clothed only with chocolate syrup, reveals an angry clenched-fisted snarl, frolics nude on the beach, and remains stunningly sexy regardless.

There is a text interview by her husband, Seal, and an interview of Heidi herself.This text is translated into several languages and first appears to be longer than actuality.

If searching for criticism, one may discover a couple of page-spanning photographs that are interrupted by the middle seam of the book, making them difficult to fully appreciate.

Overall this is a quality photographic essay of personality and liberating sexuality.Rankin provides a beautiful collection that constantly reminds of the playful fun side of humanity, and choosing Heidi to help inspire this message was brilliant.

Beautiful book, beautiful women, beautiful photos!
Even if you don't know his name, you know Russell James. His photos have defined the look and feel of some of the most beautiful (pun intended;)) publications ever. Whether it's Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition, the Victoria's Secret catalog, or top models from around the world, James knows just how to capture form and beauty. In this wonderful collection, we're given a lot of that and loads of personal pictures, too: shots of Australia's Aboriginal peoples, stunning landscapes, and powerful portraiture combine in this meticulously printed volume to prove that Russell James is the heir apparent to the likes of Avedon and Bresson.

I first saw Russell James work about two years ago in an Australian Top Model Quest. His work was absolutely outstanding, so much so that I have been a fan ever since. Because of my age I have been impressed and inspired by some of the World's best photographers. But Russell James's photography is simple magnificent. simply one of the best
I had bought quite an amount of books from amazon over the past few months, including books from lebovitz, testino, avedon, besson, schatz, bourdin etc.... but this is simply my favourite. the pics inside are very inspiring and beautiful. quality paper was used. each pic will give u a very strong feeling.

he is definitely one of the best photographer in portrait shooting among the younger generation.

Well, I have been collecting photography book for years and found that this one is the best, whatever from the higher-grade paper, color, bounding, and quality of photos, etc. I found this book for weeks since it out, but finally got a copy from local book store at USD 170, so expensive, but it deserves it!!

A Little Campy, A Little Crazy, Amazing Photos
I just received this book as a gift and it's great. Ruven Afanador is one of the best fashion and celebrity photographers working today. I've always been a fan of his, so I especially enjoyed seeing his extended take on one subject.

The book is a little over the top (just like flamenco!), and that's what I most like about it. The Amazon review is dead-on when it references Pedro Almodovar. Like all the best photo art books, there are a number of images that feel completely new and completely classic at the same time.

I was very surprised to see one of the reviews here. To me, the front and back covers of the book give an extremely clear indication of what to expect from the inside.

Mil Gracias por Mil Besos
This is a high quality book based on an amazing exhibit featuring Afanador's postmodern vision of Gypsy flamenco women.

Beware of Mil Besos
The book fails to live up to my expectations: I expected color because The New Yorker Magazine (14 Sep) shows two pictures in color with a caption that says Afanador "reinterprets"these pictures in Mil Besos which, I now discover,is strictly black and white.The New Yorker editorial office claims "reinterprets" meansblack and white. The New Yorker editorial officealso says the Amazon listing states the book is black and white but that is incorrect.Any resemblance between this book and expensive "coffee table" art books is only in the high list price. The book's physical quality is below standard. As for the text, the one-page tributes to Afanador--each supposedly "signed" and written by each of the famous designers--are so similar to one another in style, content and length that either they are amazingly coincidental or the work of one publicist.
