To Whom it may Concern,

I was very disappointed at the quality of the reprint: both slightly defocused and decidely too light on the ink. I have on a number of occasions copied pages from this very edition from our local library in Johannesburg, Africana section, and the reproduction was quite fine. If it weren't for the cost of postage and valorum taxes I would have sent the book back to Amazon. Surely the British Library could do better than that! The reproduction had the appearances of prnter that must have been close to requiring a new cartridge and operated by someone who couldn't see straight. It's a small font, agreed, but there is an annoying slight defocus to the letters on most pages and the faintness of the ink serves only to exacerbate the phenomena.

The book by Capt William Ross King on "Campaigning in ......land or, Scenes and adventure..." is a classic but I'm afraid this reproduction by the British Library is to be avoided at all costs.
