Product Description
Seth St. James invites you to get comfortable and prepare your mind for a whirlwind journey as you travel with her to unlock the mystery of her past. People have always been intrigued by Seth St. James’ green eyes. Especially since no one really knows just who she is or where she came from. Like a leaf in the wind, Seth blew into town after her family died in a mysterious accident. At eight years old, Seth was left alone to be raised by her surrogate grandmother, Madelyn. Together the two worked hard to keep their identity a secret.

Seth is now a grown woman trying to lead a seemingly normal life, but the secrets and the mystery behind her family’s deaths continue to loom over her life. As the twentieth anniversary of her family’s death approaches Seth receives a mysterious visit from a stranger who jolts her back twenty years to the very night her family was killed.

Hanging on to her sanity by a very thin thread, Seth set out to uncover the truth surrounding that horrible night. She must once again change her identity in order to confront the man that she believes murdered her family and she finds much more than she bargained for. She discovers life changing information about her-self, her heritage and her family’s sordid past. Her strength is tested as she becomes torn between falling for a stone cold murderer and staying true to her long time love. Filled with deception, sensuality, and suspense this transforming journey somehow, links everyone through six degrees of separation, and just when you think you know what’s going on... think again! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Can't Get Enough of Seth St. James
Upon purchase of this book by first time novelist Kiffany Dugger, I didn't know what to expect. All I can say is "WOW"! She has created a character in Seth St. James that leaves you intrigued with who she is. The plot has enough twists and turns to make it a page turner I didn't want to put down. I'm ready for the sequel! That's for sure! You won't be disappointed with this one!

4-0 out of 5 stars Secrets, a hidden past and the name game! What a read!
Seth St. James has come to a breaking point in her life. She is haunted by the memory of her mother who was murdered before her very eyes. To make matters worse she can't shake the feeling that her twin sister is out there somewhere, even though the last time she saw her was when her twin ran back towards their house which blew up from an inferno set by henchmen with the intent to kill their entire family. Seth certainly can't shake the demons that haunt the situation that has caused her to lose all of her family including the mystery surrounding her father's involvement in it all. Twenty years has caused her plenty of heartbreaks and not enough closure. When she sets out to find the truth about her family's demise secrets come flying out from every single corner and she has to open her eyes wide before they are threatened to be closed forever!

I truly adored this story. It was different in so many ways. It became a mystery, a love story and a drama, drama, drama story! I'd have to say I had a lot of mixed feelings about the main character. In the beginning I felt sorry for her, during the middle I was hoping for her survival but by the end I swear there were times when I wanted to reach through the book and strangle the life out of her! I love the fact that her character was complex. She wasn't innocent by any stretch of the imagination. She had her own demons and secrets that could have knocked her to her feet and demolished the only relationships that she cherished. There were incidents where I could predict the outcome yet was still surprised by secrets, plot twisters and revelations.

This book would have gotten a perfect rating if it wasn't for the many editing errors. It took me longer than it should have to read the book because I had to keep re-reading it to make sure that I understood the content correctly as everything tied into each other.Regardless of these issues I really would still suggest the book because it is a good read despite the editing issues. I have already begun to recommend the book to others and I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kiffany Dugger and the Memory Ghost: The Green Eyed Butterfly (book review)
No matter how much we try to escape whatever trauma we've experienced in our childhood, the memory-ghosts will always find us. As a matter-of-fact, the memory-ghost is never really silent, invisible, or without constant and consistent presence (and even dominion) over everything that we are and everything that we will become. And it isn't until we confront the memory-ghost that we are able to find consolation and final resolve. For me, my own childhood trauma could only be reconciled in the form of my first novel, Push Nevahda & the Vicious Circle: scenes from a random life. For Cecelia Robinson, her resolve was manifested in her brilliant novel, Memoirs of a Bitch; Freedom Speaks found it in her masterfully written novel, Manjani; Walter Tariq Anderson Jr. found it in Pappy, and Q. B. Wells located his in the marvelously crafted (and surely classic-bound) BlackFace. For Kiffany Dugger, her resolve is confronted and treated in her wonderful debut novel, The Green-Eyed Butterfly.

Seth St. James's experiences a great tragedy at the age of eight, and her life is spun into a whirlwind of resigned sadness and interminable despair. She leaves town with a family friend in hopes of self-discovery and peace-of-mind, and to concentrate on running a new business. But Seth cannot forget about the death of her family and the fact that the matter has gone unresolved. A chance encounter with a mysterious visitor leads to inquiry, then on to a suspenseful medley of intrigue and deception.

Dugger's penchant for macabre and suspense is duly noted in this chilling novel, and all the way to end she keeps us spellbound, restless, and in great anticipation with every turn of each page. Her ability to create complex characters and place them in dense psychological contexts shows style and skill (almost unseen in debut novels). That stated, Dugger is off to a good start, and The Green-Eyed Butterfly may very well be headed for classic status. Let's hope that this novel can rise above the mess of books that have recently flooded the shelves, and make its way to a position of respectable quality reading. Good work, Kiffany!

5-0 out of 5 stars This Book Keeps You BEGGING for More!!!!
I absolutely fell in love with The Green Eyed Butterfly. It was full of suspense and kept you begging for more and more. Seth St. James, the main character, took you on a long journey of twists and turns as she sought after her true identity. Her emotional highs and lows made me feel completely sane, but kept me rooting for her at the same time. This is a very unconventional book. It definitely isn't your everyday mystery novel!!! You will never guess the ending!!! It was an awesome read!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A real page turner!!
The title itself had me curious and wanting to read more.Once I started, I could not put it down. The excitement, the suspense, and the romance all had me wanting to know more about Seth. The graphic detail that Dugger uses to paint a vivid picture for her readers is sensational. For this to be her first novel, I applaud her for keeping the attention of her readers.I can honestly say she is up there with the best of them because I literally finished the book in 1 day!!I was shocked and thrilled at the same time and even when I tried to put it down, curiousity got the best of me. ...
