AN EC FAN'S UTOPIA!
I have purchased several of the EC books originally published in the mid-1980s and I can honestly say that I am totally impressed by the quality of these books!This review is intended to cover THE HAUNT OF FEAR VOL 2-5, THE VAULT OF HORROR VOL 2-5, and TALES FROM THE CRYPT VOL 4-5.Each volume arrived in pristine condition and was very carefully packaged to avoid damage.

Similar to the more recently released THE EC ARCHIVES, these editions follow the same formula: each volume features five to six horror issues with their respective covers presented in full color , each issue is presented intact with the center text story and the letters pages included, and insightful essays by the author or quotes from William M. Gaines or the various artists are provided at the end of the majority of the issues.Different with these earlier editions, however, is that the artwork is presented in black and white rather than color, but the books themselves are presented in an even larger format which really serves to highlight the fantastic artwork.

The stories included are always fresh, always fun, and always have that great EC surprise ending.EC Comics didn't believe in repeating stories, except in their annual TALES OF TERROR issues.The covers for these annual issues are also presented in the various EC volumes although the comics are not repeated.This provides us fans with a rare opportunity to see these covers as well.

If you've collected any of THE EC ARCHIVES editions and enjoyed them, these volumes are an excellent way to continue with your collection and find out what comes next!I highly recommend these books. ... Read more

Two-Fisted Tales was a bi-monthly, anthology war comic published by EC Comics in the early 1950s. The title originated in November 1950 when Harvey Kurtzman suggested to William Gaines that they publish an adventure comic. Kurtzman became the editor of Two-Fisted Tales, and with the advent of the Korean War soon narrowed the focus to war stories. The book often took an anti-war stance. The title hit newsstands with its November/December 1950 issue, and ceased publication February 1955, producing a total of 24 issues. Years after its demise, the title was reprinted in its entirety.
