Product Description
Bill Snibson, a Lambeth costermonger, is revealed to be the New Earl of Hareford and his newly-discovered aristocratic relations are horrified. Bringing him to Hareford Hall, they attempt to educate Bill into the ways of the gentry and seperate him from his cockney girlfriend. This "comical cockney comedy" features an abundance of well-known "toe -tapping" songs (including "Lambeth Walk", "The Sun Has Got His Hat On" and "Leaning On A Lamppost"). This version was rewritten by Stephen Fry and Mike Ockrent and first presented at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre in 1985 with Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson. ... Read more

Product Description
This book offers a vivid and convincing insight into the Higher Justiciary--the High Court judges of Britain--by surveying the career of Sir Oliver Popplewell. His career goes a long way to explode myths and to show what judges are really like – impartial, skilled in the law, above party politics certainly, but intensely human. Tracing Popplewell's career from the junior Bar to his appointment to the High Court Bench, Benchmarks touches on high profile cases, including the Jonathan Aitken libel trial and the enquiry into the tragic fire at Bradford City football grounds.

"IRRESISTIBLE!"
--The Boston Globe
Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy who, for the last fifteen years, has been posing as an out-of-work actor.
Together this dynamic pair begin a journey through space aided by quotes from The Hitchhiker's Guide ("A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have") and a galaxy-full of fellow travelers: Zaphod Beeblebrox--the two-headed, three-armed ex-hippie and totally out-to-lunch president of the galaxy; Trillian, Zaphod's girlfriend (formally Tricia McMillan), whom Arthur tried to pick up at a cocktail party once upon a time zone; Marvin, a paranoid, brilliant, and chronically depressed robot; Veet Voojagig, a former graduate student who is obsessed with the disappearance of all the ballpoint pens he bought over the years.
Where are these pens? Why are we born? Why do we die? Why do we spend so much time between wearing digital watches? For all the answers stick your thumb to the stars. And don't forget to bring a towel!
"[A] WHIMSICAL ODYSSEY...Characters frolic through the galaxy with infectious joy."
--Publishers Weekly

5-0 out of 5 stars Hituchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
America's Galactic Foreign Legion - Book 1: Feeling Lucky

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is like the Monty Python of science fiction.Hey, any excuse for a good laugh.Ignore the movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific Book
Just think what you would do if your best friend warned you that the world's going to be destroyed in 15 minutes. This book is about a man who listened. If you enjoy good Comedy or Science Fiction you should read the "Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy." This book is hilarious and unpredictable because in one chapter it can go from narrowly escaping a planet's destruction to listening to the 3rd worst poetry in the Universe. So this book won't cease entertaining you. Also, the main character Arthur Dent lets you experience space from a whole new perspective, that of a normal man. So watch as Arthur adapts or dies in space, and meets a whole host of bizarre characters and creatures along the way. I hope you read this book, and enjoy it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
This book was pretty good, although I'm not sure I understand why it has maintained its cultural legs for so long.

5-0 out of 5 stars one of the best...
First in 1992 I avoided to read the Douglas Adams books, because everyone in my school read it. Last year I read them all in German. Fantastic! Now on the Kindle I started to read them in English. For the German readers out there - the original English version is the better one.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy the BBC radio series
It was excited about finally receiving the Hitchhiker's BBC series I was looking for 30 years. It's been great to listen to it and it's very much treasured.

During his third year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter must confront the devious and dangerous wizard responsible for his parents' deaths.Amazon.com Review
For most children, summer vacation is something to look forward to. But not forour 13-year-old hero, who's forced to spend his summers with an aunt, uncle, andcousin who detest him. The third book in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potterseriescatapults into action when the young wizard "accidentally" causes theDursleys' dreadful visitor Aunt Marge to inflate like a monstrous balloonand drift up to the ceiling. Fearing punishment from Aunt Petunia and UncleVernon (and from officials at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardrywho strictly forbid students to cast spells in the nonmagic world ofMuggles), Harry lunges out into the darkness with his heavy trunk and hisowl Hedwig.

As it turns out, Harry isn't punished at all for his errant wizardry.Instead he is mysteriously rescued from his Muggle neighborhood and whiskedoff in a triple-decker, violently purple bus to spend the remaining weeksof summer in a friendly inn called the Leaky Cauldron. What Harry has to face ashe begins his third year at Hogwarts explains why the officials let him offeasily. It seems that Sirius Black--an escaped convict from the prison ofAzkaban--is on the loose. Not only that, but he's after Harry Potter. Butwhy? And why do the Dementors, the guards hired to protecthim, chill Harry's very heart when others are unaffected? Once again,Rowling has created a mystery that will have children and adults cheering, not to mention standing in line for her next book. Fortunately, there arefour more in the works. A review Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a great and widely known book in the famous Harry Potter series. This book has won numerous awards on all accounts of creativity to the creation of the characters. These books were written by J.K. Rowling. This is her third book in a series of seven.Hopefully, not her last.
The story starts of as Harry's third year at Hogwarts school of Magic, and for sure, the suspense is already built. Just before Harry's arrival, news spreads fast that the dangerous Dark wizard Sirius Black has escaped is coming after none other than Harry Potter himself. Or is he? Suspense begins to roll in the sea of emotions. Each character plays there part until the end. What is the mystery behind Sirius Black?

J.k. Rowling again surprises us again with another stunning book. Her writing style ensues a path to entertain and undermine all traditional writing styles. She shows great emotion and care in her writing! I hope she continues writing for a long time to come.
Here are some of J.K. Rowling's other books:
-Harry Potter and the Sorcerers stone
-Harry Potterand the Chamber of Secrets
-Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire...
And more! Have fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Value
I bought this book to replace a copy my granddaughter had that had been read so much it was falling apart. The book was received as advertised and in a very timely manner.

3-0 out of 5 stars Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
The book was missing slipcover.Book was listed as used in good shape. I would not have purchased it if I had known book was missing cover.Otherwise, book was in good shape and arrived within time

5-0 out of 5 stars Finest quality
This edition and its companion books carry the series from a popular book to a classic product. The Harry Potter series has matured into a finely produced, collectible, cherished edition for the ages. This edition is meticulously put together with the most durable binding of any edition, into books that will last for generations with normal care. The binding, stitching, and ribbon book mark are hallmarks of the most prized of books, and deservedly so.
I love the Harry Potter saga, and would enjoy it any edition. But, the Bloomsbury Special edition gives it the cachet of a true classic, which I hold it to be.This printing will, in a few years, amount to what a first illustruated printing of "Alice in Wonderland" amounts to.
This edition amounts to the first real production of the Harry Potter series in a truly lasting book, rather than the falling apart editions we have suffered with for so long. The Scholastic hardbound editions seem to hold up, but the paperback editions fall into loose pages.
HP is finally taken seriously enough to become a sturdy, well published, well bound series of books.

Editorial Review

Product Description
The inspirational book "Rescuing the Spectacled Bear" is read by Stephen Fry and also includes a specially recorded update by the author on the Bear Rescue project. Stephen Fry first travelled to Peru to investigate Paddington Bear's origins in the BBC documentary, "Paddington Bear: The Early Years". However, the surprise star of the show turned out to be a real live bear named Yogi. He was a Spectacled Bear so called due to the markings around the eyes but had been captured by the people of a small village high in the Andes and had lived in a tiny cage, barely large enough for him to turn around in, for two years. Thanks to some bartering, he was released and taken to a new enclosure at the bottom of Peru's greatest man-made treasure, Machu Picchu. This was the beginning of Stephen's obsession with Spectacled Bears and their destiny. A charitable foundation Bear Rescue was then established for the purpose of rescuing distressed bears, to purchase land for their exclusive use and to pursue research into their numbers, their habitat and their future. Then it was back to Peru for the second documentary.Stephen Fry and the Spectacled Bears was devoted entirely to the welfare of the Spectacled Bear and the attempts to keep the species from extinction. During this trip Stephen kept a diary. The diary became the book, "Rescuing the Spectacled Bear", which has now been exclusively read in its entirety by Stephen Fry for this recording. ... Read more
