Why are Hollywood movies successful around the world, while foreign films are almost guaranteed to be box-office poison in the United States? Are foreign films concerned with topics and problems of no interest to Americans, making it hard to relate to these films? Or are foreign films simply underrepresented in the large group of films battling over the American movie viewer's attention?
