SPIRITUAL SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM
Absolutely inspiring spiritual book that I have ever read. In fact recommended to several of my friends. Have started applying
to my daily life.

Wyane Dyer has helped me to overcome ANY problems in my life! I am eternally grateful.
I am so happy that Wayne Dyer was born! When you apply his words to your life with full honesty and stay on purpose, your problems seem to melt away. More and more I am realizing the true meaning of "be still and know that I am God". Being silent and connecting with God for just a few minutes a day being totally aware of his existence, helps you to be calm and loving towards the pitfalls of life. You can learn your lessons or you can continue to suffer. I choose to forgive and love everyone in my life, past and present, and even myself. Thank you just doesn't cover the gratitude that I feel.

New Age Nonsense
In the public library I noticed that there were a few books for sale on a table.There was a tourist's guild to Great Brittain, a romantic novel, and others.One book was a beautiful hardbound copy with nice dust jacket of "There's a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem" by Dr. Wayne Dyer.I agree that there is a spiritual solution to every problem, but it took me less than five minutes to evaluate this book as New Age hokum and nonsense.Maybe my master's degree in library science helped me assess the book so quickly.On page 90 Dr. Dyer places Jesus and Buddha on equal footing.One has long since turned to dust after misleading millions, while the other sits at the right hand of God, alive forever after showing the true path to millions or billions.The truth of the Bible is objectively proved by all fields of human knowledge--something no one can claim about Buddhism.

I asked the three ladies at the desk how much the books cost, and one of them told me, "Fifty cents."I handed her two quarters, then ripped the book to pieces and threw it into the waste basket.All three ladies stared with open mouths.I said, "People need Jesus Christ, not New Age nonsense.If I can prevent one person being led astray, it is worth much more than fifty cents."

Great spiritual conference.
Excellent product. I will recommend to understand the inner peace we need it. Everything from Dr. Dyer is excellent.

I Love This Book
This is a book to go back to whenever you feel down or like you have a problem in your life. It is so inspiring and magical, yet simple to grasp and easy to read. I keep it next to my bed and select a chapter to read from, even if it is just a paragraph to remind myself that there really is a spiritual solution to every problem. Mixed Feelings!
I agree that the story of Kaye O'Bara and Edwarda is an incredible example of unconditional love, but I also have some serious misgivings about the extent of Kaye's sacrifice. I keep wondering what wonderful contributions she might have made in other ways as a teacher and possibly touched even more lives.

Great Reading
I happen to have known the O'Bara family since I was in kindergarten... I went to school with Edwarda for eight years and knew her mother as my teacher.Dr. Dyer did a great job showing the devotion and care of Kaye with Edwarda.Whether one agrees with her decision or not, you will have to admire her courage, tenacity, and devotion to her children.

Not Inspirational
After Wayne Dyer (of whom I am a big fan!) wrote about this woman and indeed, wrote this book with his wife, I was curious to read it. Even thoughafter reading the summary of it, and looking at Edwarda O'bara's website, I had some questions.

Anyway, I did not find this inspirational at all, and quite honestly, I think that Kaye O'Bara has made herself into a martyr. Having worked as a nurse, and done homecare with patients, I cannot for the life of me figure out why she has had to sacrifice so much to keep her daughter alive. Never leave the house? Feed her every two hours? Please, give me a break.

There are these very commonly used devices called feeding pumps, and they are very sensitive, and can deliver as much or as little food as you want per hour--they are used on premature babies and can deliver as little as 1 cc an hour for heaven's sakes. So why isn't Edwarda on a feeding pump at night? Why is Kaye sleeping only 90 minutes at a time and feeding her daughter every two hours? Sorry, but even the most brittle diabetics do not have to be fed that often. And with a feeding pump, she can sleep all night and keep her daughter fed.

Now, she feeds Edwarda every two hours round the clock. Why? What person, even a diabetic in a coma, needs to eat that often? Again, if Edwarda's metabolism is that unstable, the feeding pump would work wonders. And why does she need to check her blood sugar and give insulin every 4 hours? Diabetics generally don't set their alarm clocks in the middle of the night to check their blood sugar. You would think that after all this time, and with the same routine, Edwarda's schedule would become routine and she could go through the night without insulin. And there are also insulin pumps which can keep blood sugar stable. Sorry, Kaye, but you know that it is quite possible for you to sleep through the night--or at least, 4-6 hours at a stretch.

And her visions of Mary? Well, I am a believer in apparitions and I do believe that saints, Jesus, Mary, etc, have appeared before people. However, I think that Kaye is hallucinating from exhaustion, and has in her mind that Edwarda is somehow "blessed" and that she has a divine mission.

Kaye's decision to keep Edwarda at home is certainly noble, and she says that is because she made a "promise" to her daughter never to leave her. Uh, I highly doubt that this is what her daughter had in mind. When she fell ill, she was undoubtedly frightened and made her mother promise that she wouldn't leave her alone, probably referring to leaving her in the hospital by herself! I think Edwarda would be horrified to see how her mother has martyred herself on her behalf, on the basis of words uttered by a frightened teenager. Kaye has taken these words to mean that she is supposed to sacrifice her life so that her daughter (who I believe has long gone from this realm)will not be "alone."

Kaye keeps insisting the Edwarda is going to wake up, but its been 37 years. I think it's time to face reality, and maybe enjoy what time she has left in her own life. Sorry, but I found this book extremely depressing and Kaye to be a little unbalanced and she needs to let go. I'm not talking about allowing Edwarda to die, but to place her in a hospice or long term care facility, and maybe spend some time with her other child who she has grossly neglected for the past 37 years. Take a walk on the beach, go to church, sleep all night. She can visit Edwarda everyday and make sure she is being taken care of, she has sacrificed enough of her life, and as I said previously, I am sure that this is not what any daughter would expect from her mother.

I'm glad that I took this out of the library, as I would not recommend it to anyone.

Slightly Confused
I, like I am sure everyone else who read this book was deeply touched. My respect for Kaye was imeasurable thinking of all the sacrifices she made. I can honestly say the only other mother who may surpass her is Jean Ellison. (One mother, One Daughter, One Journey by Jean and Brook Ellison)Jean Ellison not only does what Kaye does, but her daughter, unlike Edwarda is paralyzed from the neck down since she was 11 years old.You may have heard that her mother attented ALL HER CLASSES from 7th grade to senior year in Havard. I was a little troubled by reviewer Patricia had stated. The first being a very valid question, if Wayne Dyer is such a good friend and a multimillionare then why not set up a trust? It is a valid question. Yes I know that the proceeds from the book go to Kaye Obara, but after books are read they are resold and that money goes to the original buyer, Kaye Obara does not receive that money.Secondly, what I found troubling was the statement that she (the reviewer Patricia ) had lunch with Kaye and indicated she was not a sweet, soft spoken person.She further states she will not elabarate, but I wished she had. Is this kind of scam? Did Patricia mean that she was just a stronger person than she thought, but then states not is always as it seems. I now hesitate to donate anything as this has me wondering. The book was beautiful, but this review troubled me as this person actually met someone from the story and did not seemed impressed.

EVERY PARENT...EVERYONE SHOULD READ !
I so wish I were rich, so I could buy more copies of this book and give away. I buy as many as I can from the used bin. I don't think the money gets back to Kaye and Edwarda when I buy the used books, but at least the message is getting out.
I give the books to friends. send them to those indivisuals in positions's of authority, ie: mayors, politicians, civic leaders, friends and relatives. I highly encourage everyone to buy as many copies as you can and give away. new or used, the money and message gets spread. if you have any doubts as to whether or not this book is this good, at least buy one copy for yourself and read it.
Dr. Dyer has much good info for everyone, above and beyond "A Promise is A Promise"

Ridiculous Affirmations
Though I am happy that Dr. Dyer has helped to widen the audience for the Tao Te Ching, I am terribly disappointed in his contribution to this particular book. I found most of the affirmations to be off-point at best and just plain wrong at wost. The Tao text itself is quite well done . . . so just read that and skip the affirmations. Better yet, obtain a different version.

A Beautiful, Inspiring Book
This book is an excellent translation and compilation of the verses of the Tao. Dr. Dyer does an excellent job distilling the verses into affirmations as well. I do encourage you to first read each verse, and then read the affirmations, as sometimes I get a lot more than the affirmation out of the verse. Reading the affirmation first can limit your interpretation of the actual verse. However, I find the affirmations to be supportive, and as one person mentioned, a way to extend your application of the Tao personally to your life. The book is also aesthetically pleasing with beautiful graphics, and is small enough to carry around. All in all, a great, supportive book to help you live life with more joy and peace.

Beautiful verses - but only repackaged
This nice and very accessible little book filled with verses & wisdom by Lao-tzu was given to me as a gift. For this I am very thankful. I love poetry, I have loved the wisdom of Tao Te Ching for a long time now.

However, I don't quite understand why someone as renowned as Wayne Dyer needs to repackage ancient texts in this way. Amazon shows 1,125 results when searching for Lao-Tzu. So another book just adds to an already very crowded offering on these teachings.

Inspiration
I am still enjoying this book. I have many of Dr. Dyers book and audio's and I have gotten a lot of great advice for my whole family from studying and apply the ideas in this book. As always his books are easy to understand and full of many thought inspiring word .

Wasn't one of his better books, lots of rehash.
This book shows that perhaps Wayne Dyer is running out of new things to say.Most of what is found in this book repeats messages from previous books.Not a horrible book, but just not up par.You would be better off reading another one of his books.I say skip this one.Although in his defense, how many times can you says that we are all one with God, manifest, and put out good vibrations to attract like.

Has a few problems
There are some good points to this book. Overall, Dyer makes a lot of good points and suggestions regarding how to live a life "in spirit" instead of being ruled by the ego. Of course, if you have read a few other new age books in your life time, the concepts about the ego are going to be nothing new to you.

As explained by a few reviewers before me, I had some problems with some of the things the author said or did with the book. He clearly states that the book is sort of repetitivebecause he wants to emphasize the importance of living in spirit, but he also mentions that his books are just basically all of his journal writings put together into a book (which his editor does). As I read the book, I noticed he would say something in one chapter about a particular quote or person he looked up to, and then a few chapters later would introduce the person again, as if each chapter of the book is not even connected with any other chapter. He would also do this when telling stories or emphasizing points.

He also tells us that material posessions and the desire for them are part of the ego, but I can only imagine that Dr. Dyer is probably living in a mansion somewhere in Maui and it's easy for him to preach to us about not worrying about having enough money. And related to this, he also adds a plea for us to send money to help pay for Ram Dass's house in Maui. Now I have respect for both Dass and Dyer for everything they have done, but what kind of house are we paying for exactly? I wouldn't be surprised if it is a house way beyond what he actually needs, and yet Dr. Dyer still felt the need to ask everyone to send money.

He also tells us to live a debt free live, and don't buy anything unless you have the money to pay for it. So I guess the average person will never be able to buy a house, a car, or any other expensive item, or get student loans to go to college. Dr. Dyer, I'm sorry to say that we don't have millions of dollars for publishing our "writings," nobody is going to pay for our houses when we hit financial trouble, and we don't have the luxury of paying for everything out of pocket with our vast amount of disposable income.

A penny for his thoughts?
It's perhaps no coincidence that dozens of sellers have decided this book is worth exactly one cent.(Since Amazon charges sellers $.99 + 15% for each book sold, people are actually PAYING Amazon $1 to have someone else take the book off their hands. )

TAO Chant
For me, the secret is to chant over the top of him. Emanating the vibrations from deep within, you loose his voice and become "attuned" to the program fully. This I believe is the secret to overcoming any objection to this particular program, and getting the most bang for the buck so to speak.

No meditation possible with Waynes voice--ouch!
Wayne's voice is very unpleasant when he chants. Every time he says "Tao" it grates on the nerves. I really wanted to like this.I am so disappointed that no one told Wayne that his voice is not calming when he chants...I have enjoyed so many of his lectures, I really had high hopes for this CD.

Dyer's version of the Tao repackaged
If you already have a copy of "Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life" then this book will seem very familiar to you, as it should. This is basically a re-presentation of that material in a new edition. Dr. D presents the ideas of the Tao with much of the same extra material of his previous book. 384 pages in the new version as opposed to 416 in CYTCYL. Why? Because it recreates interest in the author's work, which means more book sales. It looks like something new, but it isn't entirely new. You decide whether you need to have both, or donate the older version to your local public library and buy yourself this new edition.

Excellent
As a follow up book to Dr. Dyers "Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life" I was eager to get this book.I was a little turned off at first when I saw that there were few words on each page and it was just small verses in large print.I am now about half way through and realize the short verses really get to the point and convey the message of the Tao.The pages are also colorful and well designed.This is a great book for students of the Tao or those who love Dr. Dyers work.

Making the Shift
got cs's this time and have listened to them a number of times. good as usual

First of his that I didn't like
I got bored lisening about his health problems and relationship problems (And he is going to help someone?) At one point he says he's geting sued and just says that it is no big deal he will just pay it, and he says it like he is "enlighted" NO, he just has the cash! I got tired of lisening to cocain jokes right off. The only thing in the whole set that I think that he knew what he was talking about was when he said that he did not know what he was going to say next. AND IT REALLY SHOWED! His version of enlightment to me came across as a 15 year old that was stoned on pot. I wish him well, but I will not be buying anything more of his.

CD worth the money

This CD set is beneficial to making the personal growth process a little easier.I just finished the set and know for a fact i will listen to it many more times.Dr. Wayne Dyer is so on point with a lot of his statements. I need to listen repeatedly so the valid points sink in and stay there!He is a great speaker and i find myself wanting to share his wisdom with many of my friends.My other favorite was his set "Power of Intention".. It wasnt the book one but a conference like this "Making the Shift" set. I did worry that a lot of the material would be repetitive but it absolutely is NOT! They are both great CD sets. Unstoppable dreams for kids!
Absolutely love this book! I read it to my daughter the other night and it gives 10 inspirational challenges that could happen in life. She is 4 years old and I hope through the next few years she will absorb some of them and motivate her to stand up to them. it's a great confidence builder!

Inspiring for children and adults

Books used to complement affirmations

I receivedUnstoppable Me and Angry Octopus on the same day. The pricipals in Unstoppable Me of making choices, being persistent, and self value are easy for children to grasp. I found myself looking for concrete answers to the questions the author poses: Can you think of things to do when you are sad? When you are worried or scared? And, What can you do to help your anger go away and feel peaceful inside?Luckily for me and my child Angry Octopus offered a surprise follow up response and an actual relaxation technique we were able to immediately apply to these thought provoking questions. My Favorite
I have just received this book and read it almost in one breath.Like Dr. Dyer said "when the student is ready the teacher will arrive".To me this is one of his best books.Highly recommend it.

Inspiring
I know a lot of people have criticized Dr. Dyer for being a charlatan. Dealing with personal issues is a touchy subject for most people. Unless you are ready to make changes in your life it is best to stick with comic books. If you ARE ready to work on changing the way life goes, ready to change your perspective, then this book can be a great help. I didn't accept all of Dr. Dyer's concepts hook-line and sinker. I'm not a pawn. Most of us aren't. This book just helps identify some of the things that hold us back in life. Exercises and methods helpful in changing the way we look at the world and ourselves.

Wow, what an exprience!!!
First off I have to say I have not completed the book as of yet, as I am taking my time reading it and changing my thought process along the way to make my life POSITIVE!!!! I have three children whom take up most of my time so the time to relax and read and to truly change my thought process does not happen over night!! As Doctor Wayne say's in the book we are all programmed to think a certain way so undoing all you know is a work in progress everyday, Dr. Wayne help's work you through this change with his amazing way of explaining and helping you make sense of it all!! I knew this book would only have a positive effect on my life when I received the used book I immediately went through the page's and a four leaf clover landed on my lap which was tucked in the book!! This book is a wonderful way of changing your life one day at a time!! I am thankful and I look forward to reading the whole collection!!! Please read this book you will love and understand who you are again!!

I consider Wayne Dyer to be the West's version of a guru. He has been writing fabulous self-help books for over 30 years. As he continues to evolve his own wisdom, he expertly translates complex, universal spiritual principles into convenient, readable formats that most of us can understand right away. This is one of my favorite books written by Dr. Dyer but all of his books are a good place to start for people seeking more self-knowledge.

Beyond Group Consciousness
I recommend this to everyone who consciously has moved to understand thought process and how it works.It is just a great reminder of how important it is to send love and pay attention to our thoughts.

A Gateway to Something Better
I can see the points that the previous reviewers have made, and would even agree with them.This tape is by no means meant to be a real "how to" guide as much as a "gateway to something better", i.e. more of their material or others'.With that in mind, this is a phenomenal intro. to and reminder of the very simple yet powerful ways we each possess within us to change ourselves and others.I would highly recommend this tape for a quick refresh when you're feeling down, and for someone who hasn't really been exposed to many of the deep concepts outlined, e.g. quantum healing / meditation / physics / psychology / etc.... Even having read and heard a lot about this type of material, the tape provided a lot of the behind-the-scenes detail by naming studies, doctors, and terms that are used to describe each phenomenon, i.e. coherence in physics, placebo/nocebo response in medicine, etc.I wouldn't give this tape 5 stars because there are a few parts that are confusing because there is a poor use of wording, but it is very, very small compared to the value of the message that you can still get out of it.Finally, if you want to know what Dr. Dyer and Dr. Chopra both allude to when they speak of what they practice for meditation and insight to life, it is TM (www.tm.org).

Having searched for a long time through Hindu and Buddhist sects to find a meditation technique that is simple and effective, this is by far the best.My recommendation is to buy this tape and the book "Science of Being and Art of Living" by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.If it is good enough for and explains all the success of the authors, then it is good enough for the rest of us.The only thing I can't understand is why they don't tell us about it directly, unless of course it remains the "secret" to their success.Either way, you will see for yourself that this is the closest they come to saying it without using the words to spell it out, i.e. "20 minutes in the morning and night", "vedic (aka Yogic) flying", etc.If you are looking to tap into your divine nature, then TM is the easiest way.Best of luck.God Bless.

This tape misses the mark
I respect both these speakers, but this tape is just a commercialized excerpt of their chatter.They admit up front that it is an unstructured talk, and it's just that - a snippet of a presentation they made somewhere, which doesn't even cover both sides of the cassette.Dyer is full of himself and thinks he's witty, and Chopra is sometimes hard to understand and/or follow.Both of them could have done much more to prepare and deliver quality content, rather than a few anecdotes and quotes.

VERY INSPIRING
As always, Dyer and Chopra are very inspiring and give you much to think about, even in one short tape.The person writing another review wants a "how to", but in one tape, that's impossible.Plus, spiritual matters are less about "how to" than easing the psyche into a fuller life.

Disappointing
Save your money on this one. They ALWAYS seem to skirt the issue as to HOW right now. I'd recommend getting Personal Power II by Anthony Robbins - they both teach relatively the same work, but with diff. words - semanticssome would say. ... Read more

Good for Children
Dr. Wayne Dyer and Kristina Tracy did a fine job on this children's book.The critique was done by an 8 yr old who also likes other books by Dr. Dyer.
Dr. Dyer gets the message across in simple, understandable language and the kids get it.

Bits of Inspiration
Everyday Wisdom for SuccessWhat is so great about this book is the inspiration it brings in smalls quickly read amounts.It can be easily used to start the day, or to reflect on things.It is also great to deal with every day events with positive thoughts.

Do Not Waste Your Money!
As a collector of useful and thought provoking quotes I can confidently say that there is nothing of value here. Vapid, empty, boring, naive, and utterly lacking do not go far enough in describing the content of this book. Of the few one-liners that did contain any substance, they are simple re-wordings of easily identifiable famous quotes by other writers know for their witticism (i.e. Ben Franklin, Tao Te Ching, Jesus, etc.). Other quotes are confusing if taken literally or thoroughly pointless if examined with a critical eye.
Clearly other than re-publishing others' work, very little effort was put into this work. If this is and exhaustive list of Dr. Wayne Dyer's wisdom, this man should be institutionalized. He is certainly a danger to himself not to mention the countless others that buy his books. Be careful who you choose as you teacher.

Literary gem
After finding this book while on vacation in one of those little beach town bookstores, I immediately read it and 4 years later, I am still finding that the wisdoms continue to apply and deepen in meaning. Instead of a book, I think of it rather as daily affirmations- each one different for whatever it is that I am experiencing on that particular day.

I recommend this book for everyone and anyone. What I enjoy most about this book is its spiritual undertones, which can be applied to any religion or spiritual background.

Everday Wisdon
This little book is replete with uplifting thoughts for everyone, for so many of the challenges we are faced with at any given moment. Whatever is not applicable today, may be so at another time in our lives. It's simple without being trite or preachy.

My daughter is 4-yrs old and I often read this book to her at bedtime! I'm not sure if she really understands the message yet, but it's rare that she falls asleep before I'm finished reading it. Higher Awarness by Wayne Dyer
I recently just received this CD and I have listented to it in my car about 6 times trying to understand all that Wayne has to say.Since this information is back from the 1993 I can actually see how far we have come as a spiritual nation we have a lot more positive thinkers out there.I think the CD is timeless and thank GOD for Wayne Dyer and all the other power spiritual teachers we have today.We will all better off for their enlighnment.

Excellent book by Dr. Wayne Dyer
I have always enjoyed the writings of Dr. Wayne Dyer and this book (Staying on the Path) is no exception. A small book with powerful sayings.

Toss this in the garbage - there are better Dyer books
Or, you may prefer to tear out the pages that are not worthwhile; Dyer has truly written some excellent books. However, the ones you want to read are those he published in the 80's and 90's. There's a lot of sage wisdom to be found in those. But this? Please. I've written this old man off mainly because he's discarded common sense for religious nonsense, and that's really disappointing. May I share one of the bits of "insight" to be found in this book? Here: "LIVE the Ten Commandments". Say WHAT?!? Once I read that, I nearly cracked up laughing. What delusion. Having said that, there are some good things in the book, but it's not worth buying for them. Again, look to his earlier works for his best material, when he was mentally sound and sharp.

Life Changing
This audio book is very powerful.I know it has played a dramatic part in my life... real quick, I was out one day, about to go back to a partner who was frequently drinking to much... this day, I was about to pull my hair out, ready to go into a huge tirad of blankety, blanks, and words that I can't write here...%$&*, kind of at my wits end... As he was very drunk again......

well I just got this audio program, and put it on my car recorder.... I pulled over in amazement at what I heard... I listened for over 30 minutes.... I went back to my house with another whole new prospective, one of calm, love, peace and a willingness to understand what was going on though my partners head, and to really listen to him... For me It was a 100 percent turn around a much better approach.....

I highly recommend this program to help anyone...

Transform my life
Mr. Dyer's book and the companion CD are a life saving for me. I was going through a difficult relationship.
