Marlene Dietrich lived and loved with unconventional passion, enthralling men and women alike. Her Prussian bourgeois background shaped her, but so did the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Berlin in the ‘Roaring Twenties’. Hollywood of the Depression years was shocked by her.
