5-0 out of 5 stars Loving it.
My girlfriend gave me a subscription to Purely Delicious in the fall. So far both the fall issue and this new issue are super!
I am learning so much and have been making slow but steady improvements to my diet. This magazine is downright sexy.
I'm now a HUGE fan!

I'd love to see more recipes that don't need a dehydrator. Or tips to use the dehydrator, I haven't quite figured that out yet.
PS. We have our first batch of sprouts on the counter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful. Just Beautiful!
I received this magazine as a gift and found it to be extremely elegant and well written without being feminine. I am extremely interested in learning about raw and appreciated seeing a strong male presence in the magazine. My girlfriend has been telling me for six months or so about raw, but it wasn't until she bought me this magazine that I finally connected the dots. I am not 100% raw yet but am really interested in learning more. The recipes in this issue are really great especially the pizza and pumpkin cheesecake.

I'm impressed. Don't change a thing. I look forward to the next issue, and the one after that!

3-0 out of 5 stars For hard core raw-foodists
Great things about Purely Delicious:
+ Raw food recipes
+ Helpful reviews
+ Good ideas for the raw foodist.
+ Almost no advertising

Things they could do better:
- Shiny, glossy pages very hard to read
- Artsy color combinations between backgrounds and fonts make reading this very unpleasant. (Blender review was black text on dark red background)
- Some ingredients difficult to find: sunflower butter, charged water, yacon syrup, Irish moss gel, etc
- Odd size, Pages are very large so you can't store them with your other magazines
- Very thin, not many pages or content
- Would be nice if they had a column explaining what some of the less common ingredients were.
- Not recycleable, not for the eco-conscious.

I was so excited to find a raw foods magazine that I bought it before looking at it. When I got home I was disappointed. Many pages were hard to read, for example, the blender review was typed in black font on a dark red background. Further, the pages are very shiny making them hard to read. The combination of the shiny light reflecting pages and the odd color combinations gave me a headache when I read it.

If you can get past the dreadful colors of the pages, the recipes are great - for a hard core raw foodist. I'm not a hard core raw foodist, but my summer diet is mostly raw, I keep up with current food trends and I wouldn't know where to find some of this stuff. Beginners and occasional raw foodists would be baffled. Purely delicious does not even tell you where to find this stuff.

Overall, this is not the worst magazine I've ever read, but it is not what I hoped for. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Book in great shape
I have had nothing but very good experiences in ordering any product from Amazon. My most recent order is the book "Dangerous Evidence"(True Crime) was receieved in a very timely manner and in very great shape. There was no writings, markings, or highlightings in or on the book.

1-0 out of 5 stars There was a lot erroneous information in the book!
I thought Ms Jackson the civil rights activist pursuit of the truth was honorable; however, the author was way off base.I was at the Quantico Criminal Investigation Division at the time of this incident, and I am BLACK.My name was even mentioned in the book. As a matter of fact Lindsey Scott worked for me.This was not a racist plot to courts-martial and convict him.I don't know if he committed this crime or not; however, the NIS and Military Police did what they should have done. There may have been some errors in the investigation, but it was not racist. There were many other black assigned to the Military Police during that time other than Lindsey. This book's display of the accounts that happened during this investigation are so far from the truth, it is pathetic. Raymond W. CollierCriminal Investigator,USMC

2-0 out of 5 stars Investigative reporting at its worst
It is apparent by the misrepresentation of fact, the selective interviewing, and the ignorance of standard law enforcement procedure that Mr. Cohen's account of the Lyndsie Scott case is a skewed and inaccurate portrayal of the truth.

5-0 out of 5 stars An eye opening look at the Military "Justice" System
I found the story enthralling and it has given me a new insight in to the so-called Military Justice System.By the end of the book, I felt I really "knew" these people. While the main focus was the injustice done to Marine Lindsey Scott, civil rights activist Lori Jackson, also featured in the book, was truly an inspirational woman.I look forward to the movie!Author Ellis Cohen is to be commended for such a well written account of this amazing story ... He completed this degree whilst working for Greens (W.A.) state parliamentarian Robin Chapple. From 2005 to 2007 he worked as a communications officer for Australian Greens Senator Rachel Siewert. At the 2005 state election, 2005 Ludlam unsuccessfully contested the seat of Murchison-Eyre, obtaining 4.98% of the primary vote. In 2007, along with Jose Garcia, Ludlam produced the animated documentary Climate of Hope, focusing on the science of climate change, the nuclear fuel chain, and the wider energy revolution. This was produced for the Anti-Nuclear Alliance of Western Australia. In 2007 Ludlam was elected to the Senate for Western Australia, taking office on 1 July 2008.. 4-0 out of 5 stars The Old Ways Work Best
In WRITING ABOUT LITERATURE, B. Bernard Cohen has written a useful text both for the teacher of writing and the student of writing. When this edition was published in 1963, the prevalent mode of critical thinking was based on a close reading of a text and the reader was encouraged to come to that text with a mind free of pre-existing political or social ideologies.Cohen, however, does allow for relevant information of an autobiographical nature to creep into a critic's analysis.Cohen's aproach is the bedrock approach which sadly is lacking in today's college and university departments that pass for English. If one wishes to learn how to read a text for understanding and how to apply these guidelines for writing a critical paper, Cohen is a worthy text to begin. ... Excerpt:Personal information Alyssa Erin Beckerman (born January 23, 1981 in Long Branch, New Jersey ) is an American gymnast and student. Beckerman was a member of the United States National Gymnastics Team from 1997 to 2000. Her highest honor was making the 1999 World Gymnastics Championships although she was unable to compete due to a wrist injury. She was named an alternate member of the 2000 US Olympic team, but was unable to compete because Tasha Schwikert (the other alternate member) was instead selected in place of an injured Morgan White. Beckerman competed on the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA ) intercollegiate gymnastics team from 2001 to 2003 while pursuing a degree in sociology . Beckerman is best known for her exquisite, clean gymnastics, impeccably long and smooth legs, and her tremendous dance ability. While not a very powerful gymnast, her floor exercise routines were dramatic and well-received by judges. Beckerman's ability to pirouette was largely unmatched by other American gymnasts. Her triple pirouette on the floor exercise was well performed, as well as her pirouette with leg horizontal to the floor on the balance beam. Beckerman's strongest events were the uneven bars and the balance beam. Websites (URLs online) A hyperlinked version of this chapter is at Anthony J.
