Motivating, Keeper!
Love this book.I just chanced upon it, bought it without many reviews.I was feeling really low when I bought this esp.because my health was suffering.This book and in general ayurveda talks about wholeness and balance.This is a tough subject and hard to comprehend and extremely vast.However, this book handles the subject well and presents a lot of information in a concise and friendly manner. This is the reason why I give it a five star. I keep referring to it each time I have a problem.Yes, I do think that most of the guidelines are for both sexes.

Great book to gain a another perspective
The book came to me in a very good condition. The seller did not promise to much. I started reading right away and I do think that this is a book you should read if you want to get another point of view about life and how you can change it for your best. A really intressting way of looking at different aspects of life and a perfect conection to the field of Yoga.

A Woman's Best Medicine is one of the most uplifting and important books I have ever read.I read it some years ago and have just reviewed it which prompted me to buy several more copies to hand out on loan, to women I care about. It's easy to read, easy to follow and I wish all women had a copy! I have already begun to benefit healthwise, both in a physical sense and in an emotional one, from implementing some of the deeply wise but essentially simple advice. Bless the author.

Knitalong
This is a lovely book about the social aspects of knitting.It has chapters on how knitting is good for spending time with others, its usefulness as a tool for remembrance, as a great way to spark creativity, a way to develop and expand your own personal growth, and the blessingway blanket story.

The book also has several lovely patterns to knit. including a baby blanket, a hat and mitten set with a 'buggy' theme, a felted bird's nest, a traveling scarf, and several others.

It lists websites to connect with other knitters and offers advice for knitalongs.Overall, I found this book informative and inspiring.

This book offers some very different patterns & design ideas, which I find very refreshing.It offers guidance & information on what "knitalongs" are all about, there are suggestions about how to hold your own knitalongs, including family & friends.Gift giving & charity knitting.Another refreshing concept of this book, is that it takes recycling, refashioning & reknitting into consideration.It holds a great deal of information & is user-friendly.It's about bringing people together.

This has become one of my favorite knitting books...and i own a few.The pinwheel shawl,the meathead hat,Sei shonogan pillow it is quite a diverse book which i love.There are many different types of patterns they dont all follow "one theme".I know the book discusses knitalongs and that is the theme of the book however the patterns are all so very different unlike some books where there just isn't enough variation between patterns to keep you wanting more.this book does that.My only concern with the book and it may be unfounded,i hope it is.Is that i cant find any errata on the publishers website or anywhere else.Now i knw that is a good thinig,but history has shown me that almost all knitting books have errors in them no matter how carefully they are edited (Sometimes the errors come from over zealous editing)If there are no errors then GREAT,I'll start knitting but i like to check the web b4 hand so i dont find out mid project that the pattern is wrong.So, if anyone knows please let me know.Other than that.This is a great book.Nicely written,intriguing patterns and packaged well.I wouldnt pass this one over.it deserves a spot in the serious knitters library. ... Not what I expected
This book is very informative, but the illustrations are a bit disappointing, and they should be in color.

This is the second in a series of 2 books on the Sugarloaf Mountain region in Barnesville, Maryland.A must-have for any local resident to Washington DC, Maryland or Virginia, you will literally feel like you are up on the mountain in the pages of this book, whose gorgeous illustrations and writing bring the mountain to life in any reader's mind as vividly as the real thing!More importantly, the beauty throughout the pages of this book will drive you out Hwy 70 right over to and up the mountain to see it first hand. An excellent field guide with exquisite illustrations.
This book is far more detailed than any other wildflower guides I've seen but is written in simple language that I can understand. The illustrations are beautiful and so detailed that it makes it easy to identify wildflowers I find on Sugarloaf Mountain and in walks along the Potomac River. I like learning about medicinal uses of native plants and the book is filled with herbal lore. It's a friendly book that is scientifically accurate and detailed but also contains personal anecdotes in which the author's love of trees and wildflowers comes through. I carry both this book and the companion volume--Sugarloaf: The Mountain's History, Geology and Natural Lore on my hikes.

One of my favorite things about the book is that the plants are organized according to families, with information about each plant family. It's fun to find members of the lily family and the rose family growing in the woods. The book helps you understand relationships between plants in a meaningful way. I like thinking about how this onion that I'm eating is related to the trout lily that grows along Sugarloaf Mountain's streams! Plus, its illustrated glossary is an extremely helpful learning tool.

I recommend this field guide to everyone, from novice to experienced botanists.

I just purchased the most authoritative and readable field guide to wildflowers, herbs, shrubs, vines and trees for the Mid-Eastern United States. An Illustrated Guide to Eastern Woodland Wildflowers and Trees by Melanie Choukas-Bradley, illustrated by Tina Thieme Brown, is eminently readable and includes all the local native and naturalized species that grow abundantly here without any help from us. This is the perfect book for anyone who is interested in gardening with Mother Nature, creating a water-wise native plant garden, or just identifying the local plants while out walking and hiking. The author describes the plants with expert plant taxonomy, humor, and personal anecdotes, throwing in folklore and history where appropriate. She includes specifics on habitat and range, as well as bloom time and where the plants can be found when walking the trails of Sugarloaf Mountain, Maryland. The illustrations, drawn from life, are simple and beautiful, appropriately delicate when describing fragile spring wildflowers, richly detailed and imposing when capturing the hardier species. They compliment every page they are on.

The book is a love letter from two naturalists to their adored Sugarloaf Mountain, where they spent ten years hiking and painstakingly identifying the plants. They view the mountain as a rare gift and "a learning laboratory." But this guide is so much more than the plants on Sugarloaf Mountain. It covers every plant I could think to look up. It includes a very readable botanical key and a comprehensive illustrated glossary. There are suggested readings. But what makes it unique and exceptional in my library of field guides, is the personal touch in both the writings and drawings. The love that Choukas-Bradley and Brown feel for these plants jumps from the pages and I can feel and see how wondrous and magical each plant is for them. By sharing their reverence and respect for all these plants, they inspire while they educate.
