4-0 out of 5 stars book review
I purchased this book on amazon so I wouldn't have to pay 60 bucks at the book store and I am very happy with my decision.

5-0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable!!
I could not believe this textbook was available at this price!! With the upgraded shipping, I STILL spent less than 20% of what I would have paid at my school's bookstore. Great purchase!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Highschool History Text
Goldfield's American history textbook is the stereotypical text, with nothing exciting (as far as I could tell). I'm a history major, and for some reason my college professor assigned this clearly high school level book as our main text. It's a pretty brainless read, and I haven't been introduced to many newideas or pieces of history, unfortunately. ... Read more

Product Description
Strategic planning is vital to achieving success in any endeavor in life. Whether you are an enterpreneur, a corporate CEO, a colunteer for a community project, or trying to organize your personal life, it's important to have strategies in place that will help you succeed. I am really excited about what the authors in the book had to say. If I had not interviewed these outstanding, successful men and women I don't think the subject the talked about would have occurred to me. Who would have thought "reinventing diversity" or "the power of procrastination" would be success strategies? One of the authors in this chapter said that we are performing in an era where knowledge is power. He went on to say"I think the key is applying that knowledge with laser-like focus. This means ruthless prioritization on what needs to be accomplished in order to yeild the highest payoff in cultures of high demand." The chapters in this book will help you discover core issues that may be challenging you or keeping success just out of reach. I am sure that you will be able to use the information these authors have shared to empower your dreams and goals into reality. Remember success doesn't just happen-you make it happen. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth the Money
As an herbalist, I bought this book looking for a good scientific book on Herbs.I was sorely disappointed.Under the name of so-called "science" this book does nothing but list studies of the "constituents" of the listed herbs and then most of the time uses these studies to come to the conclusions that either there is not enough scientific evidence to recommend the herbs use, or the herb is not safe to use.Essentially the book reads like a bad joke. ... Product Description
Elizabeth Bishop is one of the greatest poets of the 20th century. When she died in 1979, she had only published four collections, yet had won virtually every major American literary award, including the Pulitzer Prize. She maintained close friendships with poets such as Marianne Moore and Robert Lowell, and her work has always been highly regarded by other writers. In surveys of British poets carried out in 1984 and 1994 she emerged as a surprising major choice or influence for many, from Andrew Motion and Craig Raine to Kathleen Jamie and Lavinia Greenlaw.A virtual orphan from an early age, Elizabeth Bishop was brought up by relatives in New England and Nova Scotia. The tragic circumstances of her life - from alcoholism to repeated experiences of loss in her relationships with women - nourished an outsider's poetry notable both for its reticence and tentativeness. She once described a feeling that 'everything is interstitial' and reminds us in her poetry - in a way that is both radical and subdued - that understanding is at best provisional and that most vision is peripheral.Since her death, a definitive edition of Elizabeth Bishop's "Complete Poems" (1983) has been published, along with "The Collected Prose" (1984), her letters in "One Art" (1994), her paintings in "Exchanging Hats" (1996) and Brett C. Millier's important biography (1993). In America, there have been numerous critical studies and books of academic essays, but in Britain only studies by Victoria Harrison (1995) and Anne Stevenson (1998) have done anything to raise Bishop's critical profile."Elizabeth Bishop: Poet of the Periphery" is the first collection of essays on Bishop to be published in Britain, and draws on work presented at the first UK Elizabeth Bishop conference, held at Newcastle University. It brings together papers by both academic critics and leading poets, including Michael Donaghy, Vicki Feaver, Jamie McKendrick, Deryn Rees-Jones and Anne Stevenson. Academic contributors include Professor Barbara Page of Vassar College, home of the Elizabeth Bishop Papers. ... Read more
