In his six years with the company he starred in productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Magic Flute, La Boheme, Die Fledermaus, The Tales of Hoffman and Don Giovanni. In 1986, Warlow assumed the role of Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls and a year later he starred in his own one-man show, A Song to Sing. From there he spent four years appearing as Enjolras in Les Miserables and in 1990 issued his first solo album, Centre Stage. Upon completing a turn in the title role of The Phantom of the Opera Warlow was diagnosed with lymphoma. He ultimately beat the disease and returned in 1993 with a new album, Back in the Swing, and a concert tour. A stint as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady preceded the 1995 release of the album, Midnight Dreaming. He subsequently appeared in productions of The Secret Garden and Grease, releasing the album Back in the Swing in 2000. From there Eder went on to television's Star Search. Winning Best Female Vocalist honors a dozen weeks running. Also in 1987 she began working with composer Frank Wildhorn, who was then developing a musical adaptation of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde story.

He left opera at 24 years of age to test the waters of commercial musical theatre, playing the romantic lead of Sky Masterton in the Adelaide Festival Centre TrustÕs production of Guys and Dolls In 1990, Anthony was chosen by director Hal Prince and producer Cameron Mackintosh to play the Phantom in the Australian production of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera . His portrayal was regarded as one of the finest in the world and won him several Mo Awards as well as the Advance Australia Award. In May 1992 Anthony was diagnosed with lymphoma, which forced him to withdraw from the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar to concentrate on his treatment and recovery. Following his recovery, Anthony recorded his third album, 'Back in the Swing', which on release debuted at No. 3 in the ARIA charts. (His two previous albums, 'Centre Stage', and 'On the Boards', had also reached top five positions in the ARIA charts with all his solo albums achieving gold or platinum status).
