I take my favorite Winnie the Pooh pillow with me so I can have a little piece of home. Roll out of the bus and check into the hotel. Get a shower and relax for a while with my manager, Kasey Walker, watching movies. She's been my manager since I was nine years old, so we're pretty close friends. Call home if my mom isn't with me, but she travels with me a lot. Get something to eat and check out the city, maybe do some shopping. Sound check. Get ready for the show! It doesn't take too long 'cause I don't have big hair or wear tons of make-up so I'm done in time to meet some of the fans and sign some autographs 'til show time. SHOW TIME! Meet more fans and sign more autographs. Collapse back on bus and crawl in bed with my Pooh pillow. I know it sounds exhausting but it's really pretty cool. I've made so many new friends and seen lots of the country and the road crew guys really crack me up.

While McCann has made an indelible and historical impression on Seattle never mind her microscopic hometown where she's always been its pride and joy as practically the only form Of live entertainment as the first country music artist to break out of the area and gain national stardom, hers is a story that almost wasn't. And were it not for the dynamic Kasey Walker relenting to well-meaning familial persuasion, odds are that neither McCann nor Walker, her manager of six years, would have attained the success they now enjoy. The dedicated Walker (of Walker Management), recounts the strange way fate played its mellifluous hand. "My parents live 30 miles south of where Lila lives, and my father, (Vern Walker), said that I had to hear this 9-1/2-year-old country singer. I said, 'Nooooo; I'm not interested in managing a child.' I was also thinking of getting out of the [artist] management business altogether."

Extractions: The title of Lila McCann's latest CD is an applicable one. Complete , the third album release by the 19-year-old singer, aptly describes her current disposition in her personal and her professional life. She's no longer the young girl who sang of wanting to fall in love, nor is she the teenager who crooned about the topsy-curvy feeling of having a crush on someone. These days, when Lila sings, she sings of love realized, of dreams found, and of feelings now complete. Some of these completed feelings happened after graduating from highschool and moving from her parents' home in Tacoma, Washington to her own place in Los Angeles. But her lifestyle wasn't the only thing to change. Her music, along with her vision of what she wants to accomplish with that music, has also ventured into a different direction. Whereas she once performed songs she refers to as "sweet little ditties", she went into the studio this time to record numbers that relate more to her present state of mind and age. A couple of the songs on the recent Warner Bros. release that show the new woman in Lila include lead single "Come A Little Closer" and the title track. While "Come A Little Closer" mixes a flirty beat and lyrics with a subtly sensual intent, "Complete" combines the intent with a gentle expression of how one can feel complete when the other half in love is there.
