His high level of technical prowess combined with a subtle wit and gentle audience participation have made him a favorite of theater audiences throughout the country. The program, presented under the auspices of the Gertrude Clarke Whittall Poetry and Literature Fund, will be at 6:45 p.m. in the Montpelier Room on the sixth floor of the James Madison Memorial Building. Tickets are not required. Peter Davison, whose most recent collection of poetry, Breathing Room , was published last year, has worked as a literary editor for many years, most notably at the Atlantic Monthly Press, where he served in various capacities, most recently as its editor-in-chief and director. He also has a long association with The Atlantic Monthly as poetry editor and as a frequent contributor.

Disappointingly it turns out not to be a guide to Aliens -along with hints on what to do should you meet them- but a collection of short Science Fiction stories including 'Beyond Lies the Wub' by Philip K. Dick, 'Semolina' by David Langford and 'Vurfing the Gwrx' by Mike Scott Rohan. Peter Davison's involvement is limited to a cover photo in which he looks impossibly young and slightly embarrassed and an introduction in which he admits to ," always having a fondness for the extra terrestrial...which shows no sign of abating. Unfortunately the world of alien monsters is so limitless... that for me to claim to be an expert on them is rather like a man who eats a grape claiming to be a wine connoisseur." As a side note it's worth pointing out that both Peter Davison's parents were killed by Orcs and although these are fantasy monsters rather than aliens this event surely sparked his interest in the world of non-human beasts and lead him to agree to be involved with this book.
